I'll tell you why I think many people believed it. First, they aired this interview when most of the world was in lockdown. They had a captive audience - stuck at home & bored. It was the perfect distraction. This interview was targeted at people who didn't know anything about them. People who would immediately think: 'How awful, this American was treated horribly by those stuffy Brits.' Parallels to Diana would be made (especially when Meghan spoke of her dark thoughts). And then, there was the the stuff about Archie which was what the press ran with and became the thing that people remembered and most swallowed whole. In my opinion, the whole thing was plotted and planned to get the biggest global audience, who would remember specific soundbites and cause as much damage to the RF as possible. The fact that this interview was then hidden by Oprah speaks volumes as to its authenticity. Why wouldn't she publish it on her website? Because as with many other Oprah interviews: it was a pack of easily debunked lies.
This abomination of an “interview” was extremely hurtful to most Britons, because Britain is very different from the US, and has always been. Still, there are of course people in the UK who are eager to jump on the race bandwagon and claim victimhood. This ridiculous pack of lies did untold damage to race relations in the UK, and that at a time when we are desperately struggling to accommodate, support and integrate an endless, unstoppable stream of thousands of illegal immigrants. It is unforgivable what Harry and Meghan have done, to their own families and to Britain.

I haven't had any respect for Oprah years ago, and lost what affection I had for H and M immediately after this interview. I am almost 60 and know lies when I hear them and I heard quite a few during that awful interview. I also dropped Netflix due to them. As long as they are being supported by Netflix, I will stay away, no matter how much I love Stranger Things. Keep in mind I was 100% pro H and M. Until they revealed to the world exactly how hypocritical and narcissistic they are. They should be ashamed for using those kids as tools to hurt their fathers. Assuming the kids exist. I totally agree with our process of understanding racism here. But it shows we were open to hear concerns and change if necessary. I did really question myself, as I am like you (brown hair/eyes and my children are blonde blue eyes) . So I believe being open to change was a good thing for us, and over time realized we're not that racist. And I agree with this doco I could not hear what actual racism she was talking about. The bullying item had to be released before the interview otherwise it would look like the Royal Family would be on the back foot and culpable. I found that the "baby looks" questions being racists were far fetched.. That was someone looking for something to say was racist. If that is the worst you have for racism, you are not dealing with racist comments. My husband is dark everything cajun. I am pale blonde. Everyone we knew or met made guesses and jokes about what all of our kids would look like with each pregnancy. My bf is dark italian and her husband is pale and rehaired. Everyone did the same with them. It happens with any extreme opposites in parents. My grandmother said that with her and my granfather, it was baby sizes questions. My grandmother was 4'9 and my grandfather was right over 7'. She was praying none of her babies came out big. My point is, thise are common questions that come along with any pregnancy. If no one comments on that, i would be more worried about racism in the family. What Harry calls, "covert racism". If you are determined that something is going to be some way, you will eventually find what you are looking for- even if you have to twist some facts. Exaggerate. Or flat out lie. Oh MM, we caught on with that one statement.

I eventually watched a while after the initial date. The ridiculous over the top parody of a curtsey was the point where I disliked Meghan, the racism claim was such utter crud that I just found Oprah’s reaction ridiculous and I lost all respect for her at that time. I lived in South Africa at that time, post apartheid a slightly darker “coloured” person is not seen as black by either black or white people. Sigh, if they had just quietly lived in the shadow we might still have some respect for the ex royal pair.
When you have watched interviews with Michael Parkinson, David Frost, Andrew Denton and Jana Wendt etc, this was no interview. It was a scripted, pre recorded “chat” show. Oprah is not a journalist, she’s a talk show host. I’m surprised that they left Harry’s gaff in, then you saw the claw jump out and grab his hand, stopping him from further damage by saying the truth. Nothing sat well with anyone with a bit of intelligence to work out why Harry’s wife was rabbiting on about passports, keys to her car etc. The very idea that you can pick up the phone to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s office and ask him to perform a “private” service in a garden with no other witnesses was ludicrous. Narcissists are oblivious to any damage they might do to others. It didn’t take long for the penny to drop and see where this was going. It was very easy to check up on some of those accusations and debunk them. The worst part is that Harry just sat there and went along with it. Didn’t defend his family or the Palace protocol, not once. Just incase some may not understand, the Palace’s job is to look after passports, travel documentation etc, her name and status was changing and unless she expected to queue up herself at the American Embassy to change all these things, it was the staff who were looking after her. The Oprah and then the Netflix debacle just confirmed what a nasty, disgusting piece of 💩 they both turned out to be.

I recently saw an interview with Valentine Low - and he talked about the timing of the publication. He realized that if they delayed until after the interview, it would be seen as a response. And he had spent a year or more putting together the story, and felt a responsibility to the staff members who had confided in him. Had nothing to do with the palace at all. Meghan keeps trying to find her particular angle to major fame and power. I think she really thought race was going to be the thing - but it is so obviously a phoney position by her. Race is often safe because it so rarely gets called out as a manipulation.

This interview was targeted at people who didn't know anything about them. People who would immediately think: 'How awful, this American was treated horribly by those stuffy Brits.' Parallels to Diana would be made (especially when Meghan spoke of her dark thoughts).
And then, there was the the stuff about Archie which was what the press ran with and became the thing that people remembered and most swallowed whole.
In my opinion, the whole thing was plotted and planned to get the biggest global audience, who would remember specific soundbites and cause as much damage to the RF as possible. The fact that this interview was then hidden by Oprah speaks volumes as to its authenticity. Why wouldn't she publish it on her website? Because as with many other Oprah interviews: it was a pack of easily debunked lies.
This abomination of an “interview” was extremely hurtful to most Britons, because Britain is very different from the US, and has always been. Still, there are of course people in the UK who are eager to jump on the race bandwagon and claim victimhood. This ridiculous pack of lies did untold damage to race relations in the UK, and that at a time when we are desperately struggling to accommodate, support and integrate an endless, unstoppable stream of thousands of illegal immigrants.
It is unforgivable what Harry and Meghan have done, to their own families and to Britain.

I haven't had any respect for Oprah years ago, and lost what affection I had for H and M immediately after this interview. I am almost 60 and know lies when I hear them and I heard quite a few during that awful interview. I also dropped Netflix due to them. As long as they are being supported by Netflix, I will stay away, no matter how much I love Stranger Things. Keep in mind I was 100% pro H and M. Until they revealed to the world exactly how hypocritical and narcissistic they are. They should be ashamed for using those kids as tools to hurt their fathers. Assuming the kids exist. If they do I really pity them. My mothers were narcissistic. I know. They will resent their parents and will be writing books of their own about their parents. That I would definitely believe.

I totally agree with our process of understanding racism here. But it shows we were open to hear concerns and change if necessary. I did really question myself, as I am like you (brown hair/eyes and my children are blonde blue eyes) . So I believe being open to change was a good thing for us, and over time realized we're not that racist.

I found that the "baby looks" questions being racists were far fetched.. That was someone looking for something to say was racist. If that is the worst you have for racism, you are not dealing with racist comments. My husband is dark everything cajun. I am pale blonde. Everyone we knew or met made guesses and jokes about what all of our kids would look like with each pregnancy. My bf is dark italian and her husband is pale and rehaired. Everyone did the same with them. It happens with any extreme opposites in parents. My grandmother said that with her and my granfather, it was baby sizes questions. My grandmother was 4'9 and my grandfather was right over 7'. She was praying none of her babies came out big. My point is, thise are common questions that come along with any pregnancy. If no one comments on that, i would be more worried about racism in the family. What Harry calls, "covert racism". If you are determined that something is going to be some way, you will eventually find what you are looking for- even if you have to twist some facts. Exaggerate. Or flat out lie. Oh MM, we caught on with that one statement.

When you have watched interviews with Michael Parkinson, David Frost, Andrew Denton and Jana Wendt etc, this was no interview. It was a scripted, pre recorded “chat” show. Oprah is not a journalist, she’s a talk show host. I’m surprised that they left Harry’s gaff in, then you saw the claw jump out and grab his hand, stopping him from further damage by saying the truth. Nothing sat well with anyone with a bit of intelligence to work out why Harry’s wife was rabbiting on about passports, keys to her car etc. The very idea that you can pick up the phone to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s office and ask him to perform a “private” service in a garden with no other witnesses was ludicrous. Narcissists are oblivious to any damage they might do to others. It didn’t take long for the penny to drop and see where this was going. It was very easy to check up on some of those accusations and debunk them. The worst part is that Harry just sat there and went along with it. Didn’t defend his family or the Palace protocol, not once. Just incase some may not understand, the Palace’s job is to look after passports, travel documentation etc, her name and status was changing and unless she expected to queue up herself at the American Embassy to change all these things, it was the staff who were looking after her. The Oprah and then the Netflix debacle just confirmed what a nasty, disgusting piece of 💩 they both turned out to be.

I remember jokes being said that Harry was gay and she was his "beard" by the way she was acting. We didn't know what, at first, but we were definitely watching to find out what it was. Granted it was a small group at first but not all Americans were suckers.
I wish I had the proof that Opera always wanted to interview Princess Diana. I am an older woman and in the 80’s in woman magazines there was always articles and stories about Opera asking Princess Diana to interview her. Princess Diana always turned her down. I recently saw an interview with Valentine Low - and he talked about the timing of the publication. He realized that if they delayed until after the interview, it would be seen as a response. And he had spent a year or more putting together the story, and felt a responsibility to the staff members who had confided in him. Had nothing to do with the palace at all. Meghan keeps trying to find her particular angle to major fame and power. I think she really thought race was going to be the thing - but it is so obviously a phoney position by her. Race is often safe because it so rarely gets called out as a manipulation.
