    just dropping in to say ive been following along and enjoying........... 3 years later. a lot of good tips and tricks for beginners in here. as an experienced beginner at many things, this is relatively simple to follow along. at first I thought your house was on a raised trapezoid and was recreating that to begin. Spent 30 unashamed mins getting things situated with my trapezoid and fence to follow along jut to realize it was a large flat rectangle on the x axis
    thanks man'

    A question - would SketchUp help me out with being able to calculate how many rows of tiles with certain size, and certain grout size would I need for a bathroom wall for example so this way I won't have to face the situation where we will have to cut the top or bottom row of the tiles? The grout is what bothers me the most, since you have shown us how to edit and resize certain materials but would I be able to set them out on a distance somehow so I can include the tile grout in the calculations? Hi Justin, Thanks so much for your videos! Really! However I do have a question. This video shows you editing certain properties of materials, such as color and transparency using Online Fee Sketchup.. However when I try to do this the Sketch Online software won't let me, and instead encourages me to upgrade my subscription to a paid version so I can edit materials. Is this maybe something that has changed since you made this video, or am I doing something wrong? Jim : )

After making an item a component and then moving the copy and using the divide tool to create multiple copies at an equal distance between two points, it seems to lock the items and I am unable to use push/pull and other tools to change the objects. Do component objects need to be edited before using the divide ("/5") function?

    Hi! One thing I'm confused about is how you created the face around the home without offsetting it first. I created a rectangle where the fence is supposed to go (around the house) and tried using the push/pull tool but couldn't pull it up because it was just a line. I had to offset it and then pull it up which defeats the purpose because the fence is not see-through. I see that you've somehow pulled the line up....HOW???

    • @ChrisSchroth
      @ChrisSchroth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Saad. Create a rectangle on the axis you want the 'fence' to be, in other words, a vertical rectangle on the axis where your fence will be (red or blue). Push/pull will not work, as you do not want any depth, you just want a surface to place the fence image on. Does that help?
