I love being bored by long form! 😅 loves the project! And I am also one of those people that jumps from one thing to another, so enjoy watching it too!
Two thoughts on the jacket - 1. Dip it in dye so that it's a gradient. 2. Sponge it with blues/purples/pinks to be kind of like a sky. 3. Start collecting patches from thrift stores and sew them on as a crazy collage.
I should have legs like a grasshopper with all the jumping around I do. And the gradient dye would be really interesting! I'll add it to the idea list!
Love the skull. I have a bull skull with horns. Have looked at it for four years knowing I wanted to do something with it. Now, thanks to you, know what. Hoping you reach all of your goals this year.
I can't recommend this process enough. It was super easy and there are lots of options for the metallic details depending on your tastes.
You're wall of wonderful is...just wonderful 🖤 Best wishes for 2024🎉.
Thank you so much! And Happy New Year to you!
Love spending time with you either long vids or shorts. You go and get that 200k your unique and will achieve it. Behind you all the way
Thank you so much! That means A LOT to me!
I hope you reach your goals for 2024. I am in awe of creative people, not being one myself. I think your wall is just beautiful. Warm greetings from New Zealand. Oh, and you could cut out some of the ducks to appliqué on your jacket.
Ooh, that's an interesting idea! I'll throw that on the list!
Yassssss ducks!
The jacket at the end would look so cool with some embroidery or edgy stitching on it. Maybe a skull on the back. You could also go the opposite direction and do some flower stitching. I’m excited to see what you do with it.
This is a super interesting idea!! Combining the skulls and flowers could be neat too! I'm putting it on the list of ideas.
Oooh, jacket idea: fabric paint but make it look like a watercolor wash!
I love this idea!!
Love the skull! You have me wishing that was hanging on my wall now! As for the jacket, I would like to think I would do some beautiful crewel work embroidery on it. However, I'm lazy and need quicker results, so I would probably use my sewing machine and yarn/cord to do couch embroidery. Draw a line design to my liking, then using a washable glue stick or elmer's glue and a paint brush, I'd baste my yarn/cording to the design. Then, using a cording foot and a zig zag stitch, I would sew the yarn down. Gets the looks of a chunky couched embroidery design, but without the fuss of having to hand embroider thru denim!
Oooh, neat idea!! I'd have to practice a bit but it has a lot of potential for cool things.
That is absolutely beautiful and inspiring. My grandfather was a hunter, and when he passed away I took all the bones and skulls nobody wanted. Needless to say, I may have an idea. Thank you
That's wonderful! I'm glad I could help you find a direction for your grandfather's skulls and bones.
Florida themed crop jacket 🍊 🐊 🌱
Alligators and oranges would be killer!!
This is my first time seeing your channel and I’m obsessed already, you’re both charming and talented! I wish I had the courage to make a channel
I'll just say it's tough at the beginning, but it gets much easier the more you do it. If making a channel is a dream, it's only hard for a little while then it's a little less hard. You can do it if you want it!!
I vote tie dye for the jacket! Also, I love your videos and am excited to see what you bring to 2024 ❤
Another vote for dying the jacket! I'm sensing a theme 🤗
Very nice, it sure is a great statement piece! 😊
The white jacket could use some embroidery or tie dye or watercolour or everything together to mimic the colours and patterns from a stone cross section (ex. agate).
Idk... the possibilities are endless! 😄😄😄
Anyway best wishes for 2024!
Great suggestions! Dying and embroidery seem to be the front runners. I'm gathering all the ideas and I'll put together a whole inspiration board. Thank you so much!
Already 3 years?! Wow time goes fast! Congrats! I'll be on board for any long format videos and mayyyy have a look at the short stuff if it's not too fast! 😄
I love long form so much, especially if I'm trying to learn new things! Short form certainly has its place but that's just not how my brain operates. But I'm going to work on that skill this year!
You keep building on stunning after stunning aesthetic projects. As someone who also decorates with found /waste skulls and bones I love this skull!
Also, mind I make something with something you offhandedly said? Kinda wanna felt a hamster with potatoes a la Over the Garden Wall thanks to you.
PLEASE make something with hamsters and potatoes! This would make my year!!
@@KatieMakesStuff OK I have never felted before so hilarity will surely ensue.
Skull looks awesome. Brilliant project and such a simple concept. Fits your wall beautifully. ⭐️
Your white denim jacket looks cute. Hmmm. What about a map 🗺️? Could be a real world or imagined one. Town map? Treasure map? AI generated? Drawn or painted on? Printed? There’s some interesting techniques for transferring pictures on paper (printed in reverse) onto other materials. Might require a fabric medium to “stick” to the denim and be washable. Ooh, t-shirt transfer sheets could be an option instead. And possibly tea/coffee dyeing the jacket to get an aged look.
I’m a fan of your eclectic bouncing and had some other ideas for projects:
1. Have you ever tried moulding leather? Wet leather is shaped/clamped over an object or block of some kind to dry. Saw a laptop bag on Pinterest where someone had moulded leather over a plastic beetle, made a bag and painted the beetle gold. 🪲 Looked great and thought it might interest you.
2. Have you considered steampunking or gothing up your new $9 boots? Glue, old buttons or chains, metallic paint, faux rivets…could be fun.
3. There’s some foam clay stuff (Rachel Maksey has played with it a bit) and I wondered how it would go sculpting on to glass or lids to make interesting apothecary bottles.
Beautiful suggestions!! Thank you for jump starting my brain!
Just found your channel, you are exactly my style I love all of your projects. Love your goal keep at it❤
Thanks so much! 😊
Happy New Year! May all your goals come to fruition! Love the skulls aesthetic, initially I thought it would look good as it is but it’s very cool now! I would probably paint the jacket, either big brushstrokes abstract or maybe based on old oil paintings with ornate frames but lots of colour, but that’s me, you do your thing it’s bound to look good xx
Wonderful ideas!! I'll add them to the list of possibilities!
Great video, great art! Skull painting is one of my favorite things to do. SO FUN! Just found you,so I liked and subscribed.
I'm so glad you're here!!! And I can see how painting skulls could be addictively fun!
Happy new year! Loooove how this turned out too :D nice!
Thank you! You too!
I think you did an excellent job on the skull! So pretty. I'd mount it on something, tho. It gets a little lost on the wall.
I thought about that too. I'm going to live with it on its own for a bit but I bet it gets a placque eventually!
Make it a Duck battle jacket lol
I've been thinking about this idea since you posted it and it's so intriguing that I may have to find a way to do it, even if it's with a different jacket.
Congrats on all the subs and hope you get to 50 000. I'm considering a YT channel, but I feel so awkward infront of cameras. Any advise?
And I think the white jacket is beautiful and if you add to it mayby just black and you favourite metalic colour, like gold or silver in embroidery.
The simpler the more alegant❤❤.
Lotsa love and well wishes, Andrea from South Africa
When I started, I had the toughest time talking to no one, especially recording the video intro. Unfortunately, the best advice I have is to just embrace the awkward and remember that you don't have to publish anything.
And if you like a good drink every once and a while, having one before recording helps you relax a little.
And ultimately, your first videos are going to be bad. And that's okay. Embrace the suck!
Two questions. 1. What cam did you use for the time lapse on the skull? 2. Did you really tear open a Ziploc bag? 5:36 Love the skull and the jacket!
Of course I did! Gotta muscle my way in!
P.S. I think that jacket needs some ducks.
You may be on to something here!
