    You did well! I was in Costco today with my husband. I had a list of items I was looking for but several items I didn't get due to cost being more than I could get elsewhere. I told him Costco not always cheaper and need to know prices. Teaching the hubby.

      Good for you! I'm working on teaching my husband the same lessons! 😉

    It's amazing 🎉all the birthdays are in March! 😮
    You did great! 👍
    We buy our ground beef at Sams club in the big 10lb tube and then I re bag it to freeze. 90/10% fat $3.79-$3.99
    It's stayed around that price for the last couple years. 😊

      The March birthdays were not planned that way but it is fun! 🥳 Good tip on the Sam's ground beef! 👌

    You are so great at shopping the best deals. I noticed you purchased frozen peppers & onions at Kroger. Two months ago I bought frozen peppers & onions from Walmart for 98 cents in 10 ounce package. I went to Walmart & they no longer have the 10 ounce only the 20 ounce package for $2.58. Other TH-camrs indicate that Dollar Tree has frozen peppers & onions for $1.25. Our Dollar Tree does not have a frozen section so I was not able to check that out.

      It is crazy how quickly prices are increasing again. 🙄 Thanks for that tip on the peppers and onions!

    Thanks for the comment about taking potatoes out of the plastic, I will try it and hopefully they will keep longer.

      You bet! I have found it makes a big difference for me! That, and trying to keep them in a dark place, and if possible, cooler. But dark and out of plastic definitely helps my potatoes last longer!

    I really enjoy your monthly shopping trips😊 I have never tried the Kroger bags of chips. I usually buy the Lays brand when it is on sale. Is there a difference between Kroger vs Lays brand chips?

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! I think the Kroger chips are slightly thicker (plain chip wise) which we like. And the cheddar version seems to be cheesier, which my kids like! 😁 For a generic chip, the Kroger brand is definitely our favorite over all other generics! Much better than Aldi or Wal-Mart's generics, we think.

    I had to laugh at the butter stock up. My grown daughter came home to visit and couldn’t believe the pounds of butter in the deep freeze. Butter is so expensive if it’s not on sale so stocking up is the way to go.

    Is it wrong that I can’t remember any deals from last month but I know I was $10 over budget. This month there was a deal at Harris teeter for $10 off $25 on their store brand so you could buy things already on sale and get more money off. I did two different transactions because I also had a $5 off $30 weekend coupon and there was a free 20 oz soda, $1 case of soda, Daisy sour cream for $1.59, pringles $1.49, clearance roast beef for $3.99, and $3.99 for a pre sliced 1.5 lb ham. I got tons of bacon because it was on sale for $4 a pound and if I did 7 it took the $10 off. I did eggs, diced tomatoes, 2 liter soda and more bacon on my second trip. Sort of wish I did more. I also was in cvs and they keep giving me $4 off purchase and additional coupons and I got ECBs too. I got clearance Easter candy, toothbrush, travel qtips, and bag of kettle corn which was all $0.72 after sale and coupons. I got more coupons today and got two packages of pads for $1.40. This month seems to be my weird stock sale month but just trying not to break the budget too early. You did great in march. I can’t wait to see April!

      I totally get post sale regret too...wishing I had stocked up more! 😂 Way to stack all the deals and stock up on bacon! And that's awesome about CVS too! I just got my $3 CVS birthday ECBs. I need to go see how I can roll those!

    What’s a good stock up price for country pork ribs? Thank you!

    • @joyfullythriving
      @joyfullythriving  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. I have seen them for $2.99lb on sale and would aim for that. If you can still find $2.49 or $1.99 a pound that would be an amazing deal!
