People get angry in stores and go off on the clerks making their jobs worse and then wonder why they quit or why no one will take the job. We need to be kind. No point on taking things out on clerks because they do not set prices, do not have control of inventory or set corporate policy. Just remember if the clerk quits next time you're in the store you'll have to wait even longer.

So glad to see James’ face and hear him speak. Yes, we’re concerned about him because we’re in similar boats, and it’s important to stay connected for this reason. At my local supermarket, the employees are understaffed and you could sense how flustered they are. I make sure to be extra courteous. It’s horrible the situation they’re in. I also went to order some firewood the other day and it was the same thing. We have gas heat but I told my husband that this year, we’re using our wood stove a lot more. The man who owns the lumber place can’t keep up with the lumber orders because his staff has quit since last year and he needs time to sort through the wood. He shared with me how he’s been falling asleep at his desk because he’s the only one working and he can’t get back to me for another week. I told him I’d wait. I wish I could do more for all these hard working Americans struggling, and I hope a smile and a listening ear makes their day a little brighter.

Our pantry is a work in progress at the moment, since it's not finished. I'm trying to get my hubby to realize the importance of a wood stove this year. My question for James - My Matt says all the time “if you had told me 5 years ago I would be a goat farmer with my own chicken turkey and pork in the freezer I would have said you were crazy” Did you have the drive or desire to be a farmer before you met Patera? He always thought of having alpaca “some day” but until he met me and we purchased this property he never REALLY thought it would be something he would actually do and love.

I went to Aldi yesterday. Spaghetti sauce was still 85 cents. I bought several canned foods to add to my panty. I also got the laundry detergent. Ours was still under 7 dollars. Thanks for the video. It helped a lot. Praying for you and yours. God bless.

Do you have a suggestion to store potatoes, carrots and onions over the winter. Live in northern MI so garage too cold. I did wonder about wood box lined with styrofoam for garage though. My freezer is so crammed I couldn’t fit a turkey in if I used my boot! Lolol! Hopefully, we’ll get a fall turkey season to get some wild turkey. One thing I’ve been concerned about is that we don’t have a generator. That’s our next big purchase we’re saving up for. We can a whole bunch, but can’t can everything and I’d be devastated to lose all our freezer food. Y’all crack me up! My husband is a man of few words as well. And I’m exact opposite.

He already had one that he was using. This is brand new and for only $10!! I had been looking at them so I know that is a steal. Just going to make sure to get some propane tanks for it. I'm continuing to can and put food away. Since it is payday weekend, I'm doing a stock up on the meat that's on sale, as well as a few other things. Please know that you are all being prayed for!

Most people don't realize that you only need to put your feidge or freezer on a generator for 3 hrs to cool it nack down as long as you dont keep it open long and get out what you need to keep in a cooler for the day

Right James,I hid Easter eggs in April one year@it snowed@the kids couldn't find them the next morning! We found eggs u til summer! Since then,I don't consider winter's over until after Easter...
I live on a island so getting things here is difficult as it is but being an Alaskan it's topical to have months of food set back bc we can be last on shipments and by the time it gets to us it's already old and plus we get stuff that's supposed to be thrown out but sent to us. My newest preps are seeds, sprouting seeds for fast salads and root and cold weather foods that is easy to go in containers and inside. We can get wind storms up to 120mph. Love y'all God bless!

I live on a island so getting things here is difficult as it is but being an Alaskan it's topical to have months of food set back bc we can be last on shipments and by the time it gets to us it's already old and plus we get stuff that's supposed to be thrown out but sent to us. My newest preps are seeds, sprouting seeds for fast salads and root and cold weather foods that is easy to go in containers and inside. We can get wind storms up to 120mph. Love y'all God bless!

Everytime I go to the store, I can see the wariness, and how tired these workers are, just breaks my heart.
