And if that was the case, there's a good enough chance the tapes were already messy enough by the time they would be taped alongside SpongeBob. Additionally, during the availability of 73 Dora (between 1973 to 81), VHS tapes were a brand new format, and they first entered the market only 3 years after all episodes finished airing. And even if they were being produced in that small timespan of the show's rebroadcasting, the 1979 adaptation was already becoming more popular and was more of a big success in comparison.
