I still wish for a mainline game in Valenwood but that is likely to never happen. I just wanna see those wandering trees man. And a deep dive into the Bosmer religions and factions.
Honestly given how they watered down Nord culture in Skyrim I'd prefer they stay as far away from Valenwood as possible in the mainline games. Don't want any more great lore getting retconned or homogenized.

In fairness, that's actually how plants reproduce. Just like flowers exist to attract pollinators, apples and other fruits exist to attract, uh, let's call it poopinators. Most plants don't want to live too close to their offspring or siblings. As a general rule, the roots of any tree are as extensive as the branches. That means that plants need tons of space to grow not just above ground but also below ground. They also need access to sunlight, nutrients, water, and plenty of carbon. A sapling under a heavily blocked out canopy will struggle to get enough light. A plant in a pot of soil that's been used dozens of times without the addition of fertilizer or new topsoil is going to struggle to get enough nutrients. So plants have evolved strategies to spread their seeds across a larger amount of area to provide them a better chance of landing in a more hospitable environment. For dandelions, that's wind-based seed distribution. For tumbleweeds, it's tumbling. For fruit, it's wrapping the seed in a tasty treat that an animal or person can enjoy and poop out later, with our bodies conveniently wrapping the seed up in a little pile of organic fertilizer that most animals and humans have evolved to avoid due to it usually containing stuff that makes us sick. I realize that unlike in our world, in the Elder Scrolls universe intelligent design is real and is in competition with natural selection, but if they end up with the same or very similar species of plants as our world has then natural selection must be providing similar selective forces.

I forgive a Bosmer for eating an apple. It doesn’t harm the tree to take its fruit. They want their seed to spread. I would judge a Bosmer for eating carrots or cabbage because to get vegetables the earth must be dug. Most Bosmer in modern days don’t follow the pact to the letter only the deep tribes in Vallenwood. I play some as full green pact eating my kills and so on but some I play a bit more modern. They eat and use what they kill, they don’t chop trees or dig ore but honey and fruit are allowed. If they can sing the trees into houses surely they can sing a ripe apple to fall. Even in Vallenwood they are allowed transported ore and wood as long as it comes from lands outside of Vallenwood. Not only do they avoid war because they eat what they kill but also rely heavily on trading.
My main played character in every TES game is "y'ffray camoran" a half altmer half bosmer who's a spinner from the second era. Fairly new to the channel. Question: Has anyone covered the lack of general scientific progress in the ESU, and by extension, many other fantasy properties with hundreds or thousands of years of, seemingly, scientific stagnation?
In the case of the Elder Scrolls, it's usually because magic is a more practical solution to trying to build a machine. Why build cannons for ships when a battlemage can set the other vessel on fire? Why build a refrigerator when you can enchant an ice-chest to be cold permanently. You get the idea. Not the most elegant answer but its been alluded to and is most probable.
@@Infected_Apple Im not sure whether thats the case or its just Bethesda continually dumbing-down the magic. When it comes to tech, you may have a point, but to be fair the furthest we've seen on the timeline is Skyrim and something tells me the Nords aren't going to be the ones with the fanciest technology.
@@andrewmosby6004 the ancient chimer as well with their strongholds with propylon chambers, the ayleids almost all historical races have more advanced civilisations concerning magic and technology. Though dumbing down and lazy writing since morrowind probably does a lot for how that comes across
I find it to be fairly endemic to the genre as a whole. Magic may be 'common' but it is still expensive for outsiders to utilize. Industrious and clever individuals would still exist, trying to exploit opportunities.
I was doing a modded run of Skyrim Together with my buddy, I played a greatsword wielding Nord juggernaut and he was play a Redguard yicudan sword singer (so we were pretty anti-elf), we had wintersun installed so we eventually came across the shrine of Y’ffre, I asked him, “Who the fuck is Yiffy?” He responded with, “They’re wood elves, they worship gods of that weird shit man.” I was legitimately curious as to who this guy was but never got around to looking in to it, your video sated my inquisitiveness, thank you.
It's just beasts you can't turn into. Like Hircine's Lycanthropes. You are VERY MUCH allowed to use the power invested in you by Y'ffre to become a *writhing mass of tree and animal* when push comes to shove. Btw that's called a "Wild Hunt" and is available to all under the Green Pact.
English is not my native language but I still understand it. This Video tho made my brain crumble. So if I understood correctly: Y'ffre is reason, but not reasoning behind mortal actions, or not only. Y'ffre is the answer to "why is the sky blue" or why is gravity a thing. Why do people die or why is honey mead better than black briar's. ???
I’m still confused how yffre works into the creation myth of mundus. Did he give up his omnipotence like the other Aedra to become the earth bones? Or is he something entirely different?
Iffre magic? same thing as the dwemer harmonic magic? Iffre made the ground the form of things the dwemer dug with magic so same magic? the dwemer went back to the "ooze" 7:09
the godhead isnt in any pantheon as it's impossible to know what the godhead is (if it's even real) no he's not lorkhan if anything yffre is a earth bone

Not gonna lie, Bosmer may very well be my favorite race :3
Hurry up and make the podcast about falmer I need something to listen to on my way to work
Nice, my favorite race.
I was doing a modded run of Skyrim Together with my buddy, I played a greatsword wielding Nord juggernaut and he was play a Redguard yicudan sword singer (so we were pretty anti-elf), we had wintersun installed so we eventually came across the shrine of Y’ffre, I asked him, “Who the fuck is Yiffy?” He responded with, “They’re wood elves, they worship gods of that weird shit man.”
I was legitimately curious as to who this guy was but never got around to looking in to it, your video sated my inquisitiveness, thank you.
Beautiful 🌌🌟
Last time I was this early, Tiber Septim was still Talos
Y'ffre, Jephre, God of trees and music. The first of the bones of the earth. I hearby swear to never take on the form of a monster.
Hey i was wondering if you were transported to the realm of Elder Scrolls what Deadra or Aedra would you worship?
English is not my native language but I still understand it. This Video tho made my brain crumble.
So if I understood correctly:
Y'ffre is reason, but not reasoning behind mortal actions, or not only. Y'ffre is the answer to "why is the sky blue" or why is gravity a thing. Why do people die or why is honey mead better than black briar's. ???
Jive-talking Y’ffre and the Secret of the Ooze.
Any chance we could find out what mod u use for filming as some of these locations i'd luv to visit :)
I JUST got Songs of Green on XB1.
were are ya'lls builds! i misss themee
I’m still confused how yffre works into the creation myth of mundus. Did he give up his omnipotence like the other Aedra to become the earth bones? Or is he something entirely different?
Y'ffre - Jephre - Jauffrey
What is Todd trying to tell us?
I used to get an arrow in the knee until I got an arrow in the knee
Basically it's +100 speechcraft.
Iffre magic? same thing as the dwemer harmonic magic?
Iffre made the ground the form of things
the dwemer dug with magic
so same magic?
the dwemer went back to the "ooze" 7:09
*chuckles* yiff
So the bosmer write fanfiction ?
The bosmer would argue there is no fanfiction, only canon.
I was early enough to not see any dislikes! Hell yeah.
I see 4 of them now. Pretty low for the 1 and a half hour mark.
You know the rules and so do i
I feel like this video is specifically for me.
Grats dude :D Now where’s my mud crab video!

So wheres the y'ffre merch tshirt with bosmeri symbol?
Straight out of the Bosmernogion.
So is Yffre Lorkhan, the Godhead, or both?
the godhead isnt in any pantheon as it's impossible to know what the godhead is (if it's even real)
no he's not lorkhan if anything yffre is a earth bone
ah so Y'ffre is to blame for the annoying nirnroot sound
It's possible that's Lorkhan instead.
Awesome.
More Bosmer vids
What's that font called ?
3:55 "Hey guys...". Ridiculously long intro.
I guess Gyro was a descendant to this people.
Can we get Adidas and Star wars Collab lore ? Next drop lookin so creamy my jeans can't take it 😭
What
Not to be mistaken for Yiffre, lord of furries and good friend of Sanguine and Hircine
Não 🎉🎉🎉😂😂axz
Me: oh wow finally we will Dance in Fire and explore mysterious Valenwood, see the different creatures and ride on Falinesti.
ESO: Ello, it's MARY POPPINS! We're just cheery urchins with an art of gold. Sorry about Falinesti mate, some wierdo cat god alf inched it for some bird.
Me: But you eat your dead gran right?
ESO: Bleedin Yffre mate, ar you two septims short of a full chest, we ain't done no cannibalism in centuries, sure as an altmers head is up 'is clean elven arse. Someone been spinning you a right tale and no mistake.
Underrated comment, ESO always chooses the easiest, most boring, and uninteresting versions of the lore
@@BestKCL Not really, only in vanilla, and even then it's not any more true than what BGS did to the nords in Skyrim. Murkmire in particular pulls no punches and goes all the way crazy lorebooks are real.
So he's an aaedra ?
technically no he's what's called the 'earth bones'
and its aedra not aaedra
Bosmer are the weirdest race in TES games indeed
