I was a painter for years and the best drop cloths are old curtains with the thermal backing. Cut off the pleated heading and put the insulated part on the floor with the cloth side facing up. If you drip or spill the paint it will not go all the way through. The rubber backing prevents it from getting paint on your floor or counter top. Reusable over and over again. Some of mine are 10-15 years old......
I'm not much for distressing, especially the wood items. When you stenciled or put on a decal that was perfect yet the wood around was supposed to show worn out and I didn't care for that. I really love what you did with that candle stand that distressing or mixing of paint is different and I like that that was beautiful. And adding the candle and the greenery was just perfect!
I love this trash to treasure video! Everything turned out so cute! Love your colors. I to got the cabinet doors at my habitat store. I bought 10 all different sizes. A lady behind me asked what I was going to do with the doors I said I make crafts from them. As I was unloading them in my car she came over to see if I could explain my craft. I did and she said she had got one door and was going to try making one. We exchanged numbers too. She was so happy with here first craft! Fast friends now.
I love trash to treasure projects! I am always shopping thrift stores and yard sales looking for items. Your videos give me inspiration! I just wish items here were priced as good as you find them. Please keep the videos coming!
Two thumbs up!! I Absolutely L❤ve trash to treasure projects. Many years ago there was a series on a cable channel I watched often. I have many ideas here with everything I need waiting for me to start. I just need the time and energy. My mind wants to do them but my body says different. Arthritis and swollen legs often. Praying I can get to feeling better soon. The weather has been perfect for spray painting. LOL Thank you for your great channel! Your such an inspiration.
I am right with you! My mind comes up with ideas just looking at something thrown out on the side of the street!! I pick it up. Go to Thrift, Hab for Hum! Garage sales! I have SOOO Many great things, projects to do! I have the MOST Painful disease known! Called RSD. I HAVE NOT had any Medical treatment in over a year! So I'm sitting here with my health & Immune System! No pain pills! It sucks! I sit here looking at Everything I need to do but dream about everything I want to do like my art, crafts & Makeovers! It was the only thing that made me happy and feel productive! Anyway Im sorry I went on & on! I could write a book! Lol! Guess I had to Vent to a fellow Crafter going thru similar to me! I can just Pray I find a a Dr in to this Hick Town I had to move to!❤️👍 My friends & Family are
Love, love all three projects. Yes, I like the stencil on the chair, but I might have distressed it a little bit and/or used a cream colored paint instead of the white. The white is a little stark against the soft duck egg blue, which had been distressed. Great idea for the cabinet door. Great to find a big piece of wood instead of the Dollar Tree cardboard signs. The light touch of a few floral pieces around the base of the candle added just the right touch. Great job!
I love your trash to treasure videos, and this one was yet again, awesome! I’m still loving that color you used for the chair, and then the stencil just gave it that finishing touch! I love love love what you did with the cabinet door! And I really liked that moss color as well. I think I bought some recently but haven’t tried it yet. And I’m a huge sucker for anything with hooks so that just made me love it that much more! They are really nice in the winter so when the kids come in from school they can hang their coats instead of throwing them just wherever lol. The candleholder was nice too. The greenery and lavender was just what it needed after the paint job. Good job! 😊😊 can’t wait to see the next one!
The stencil gives is a Boho look, love it!! The home sweet home sticker was made for this project and just perfect!! The candlestand was so cute!! For hoildays, you could just add a bow under the candle part. Trash to treasure are my favorite videos!!!
make your on chalk paint .. dont buy the overly priced chalk paint name brand. Mix 1/3 cup of Plaster of Paris and 1/3 cup of cool water; stir until completely smooth. Mix that with 1 cup of latex paint and stir thoroughly. This will make enough chalk-finish paint for one coat on a six-drawer dresser.
I never made such a mess as when I made my own chalk paint!! I ended up painting my hutch with regular latex wall paint! It came out lovely and I didn’t have to coat it with anything!!!!!
They both look great. The moss green cabinet door is fabulous...I too love that color especially for spring. I have been picking up cabinet doors at the Restore for years too....much easier than making them.
Hey just wanted to let you know I love your channel great chair my choice would have been leave it alone after first stencil but it's not my chair lol but still beautiful
You are my favorite you tube channel. I just Love your ideas. Im a huge Upcycler and its always nice to see someone else who loves it as much as I do. Fabulous
Barbara Noble just the style of the decal? Or any decal on the chair. I was thinking of using decals on my next Trash to Treasure video but the look a bot different
I hate when people do sanding over, to me it spoils the whole thing after you've painted it, it makes it look like trash again. Just my personal opinion though.
Love the stencil but I've never understood why people paint an object and then make it look like the paint is wearing off. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpise?
@Lani Bersch, it's also sometimes referred to as "shabby chic", it's PURPOSELY made to look like an old, painted piece of furniture that's become naturally worn over years of use. I happen to love it, to each his/her own? lol 💁
I look at old tables and chairs that have flaked and peeling paint and I think about slivers in my arse and under my fingernails. While it looks nice in photos, in reality it's not very practical.
Time for me to go find some Duck Egg paint! I have two of my Mom's old dining chairs (bought on their honeymoon in 1939) that have been hanging up high on the wall in the garage for years. I just couldn't throw them out. I am not sure which room they will end up in, but I now know I *must* paint them. Love the stensiling the way you did it, too.
I love the trash to treasure videos and loved the lace stencil. The stencil really gave the chair more character. I really like the Home Sweet Home idea. We have something like that by our door for keys, but if I had the room I would use the one you made. Love the candle idea for outside.
I like the stencil & although more affordable than most it costs more than $1-2. If I remember it is actually $3-4 at Walmart. When stenciling it is best to use a temporary spray adhesive to avoid mistakes & bleeding. Also, when reusing a stencil wash it off between uses. Hopefully these tips help. Love trash to treasure & TFS!
Chair is cute! I really didn't think I'd care for the stencil. Then once I seen it on your chair...love it! Really like the candle holder too. The dark hooks on your sign really made a difference. Love them all ❤️❤️❤️
I love both of these projects. The duck egg color is beautiful. Wasn’t sure how I would like the moss, but it looks great too. I am moving and will be decorating and organizing my sewing/crafting room. I may use the door project to make something to hang all of my zippers on (I make purses). If you have any videos that could be used to hang multiple zippers on (would need thin hooks) please direct me to them. I’ll keep watching. Thanks.
Love, Love, Love trash to treasure!!! PLEASE keep it up. 😉. You are so amazing. I love the stenciling on the chair. I wasn’t sure I would, but you have a great knack for it. I would have just popped one in the middle, but your half additions look great! THEN, you came in with the distressed hanging cabinet piece.....LOVE!!! I am definitely going to look for a piece of cabinet while thrifting. I usually don’t even pay attention to that section. (Sorry, I’m new at thrifting). THEN, you came in with the candle holder...LOVE!! I can’t pick a favorite. I just LOVE the, all!! What I really appreciate most, is your thrifting eye and how you can see each piece and what it could be while making it into an awesome addition to your home. It gives me a whole new look on thrifting, which I am now addicted to. 😁. Thank you Liz!!!
Love your flip! If you ever get tired of waiting for your wax to try.. DIY wax drys in less to an hour and you can get a great finish sooo much faster.
I really like the hook wrack you made. I have been looking for that color. The greenery and lavender that place around the candle holder was clever and a beautiful addition to the look. Thank you for sharing.
I’m not a distressed, chippy kind of girl but I loved these pieces!!!! I’m GOING to do the door with the hooks though with just a bit of distressed loveliness. Love watching your channel Liz!!!
I am always finding cabinet doors in the dumpster (I'm a closet 'diver'), in fact just got a couple of shelves that just need a little table saw action. Love all these things you hooked up today!!!!! TFS your great vids!
Love trash to treasure videos. Like the color you used on the chair and wall hanger. I think the chair would look better plain, OR if you added the stencil up the ladder back sporadically, even if you only got part of the stencil on it. Jmo! Tyfs!
I was wondering when someone was going mention using old cabinet doors from the habitat for humanity restore. I'm in Ontario, and have been using cabinet doors to make signs, chalk boards for years now. I actually made a very similar project as you did, I use it in my front entryway for keys and coats. It's a great way to up cycle old stuff 👍Love the stenciling on the chair!! Great video!! 😊
Wonderful ideas. I loved the chair. I would not have bought that stencil at all if I just saw it hanging there BUT I LOVE how it looks on the chair and am most definitely looking for it next time I am there. ❤️ Thanks for sharing your ideas and inspiration with us.
My absolute favorites were the chair and cabinet projects. The stencil on the chair made it more fun and whimsical.
I was a painter for years and the best drop cloths are old curtains with the thermal backing. Cut off the pleated heading and put the insulated part on the floor with the cloth side facing up. I think I would have Modge Podged the home sweet home decal. I don’t know if it would look ok or not. Trial and error.
I am 72 and I will be so glad when this style goes out of fashion. My mother would have said "PJ, you need to paint that".
Really like the wet sanding and the stencil gave your project the perfect finishing touch.
Oh yes... love “trash to treasure”videos! Love chair with the sweet stencil and LOVE the cabinet door coat rack !!!
Great ideas!
I love this trash to treasure video! Everything turned out so cute! Love your colors. I to got the cabinet doors at my habitat store. I bought 10 all different sizes. I love the moss color as well.😊 I love trash to treasure because I do that a lot. Really fits more into our Williamsburg decor.
I love the stencil on the chair, in particular the one that drapes off the front.
Awww! Just love that lantern with the little bit of green and the lavender, made it look gorgeous ❣️
I like the milk paint and then wet distressing technique. It would be great for redoing old kitchen cabinets!
Great idea ! Would the Sloan paint hold up ?
Love the trash to treasure videos! And thank you for making them simple and affordable!!!
I really like the stencil on the chair, it gives it extra character
I did the same thing on a black chair with golden stenciled flower TO MY PARIS THEME ROOM
That’s looks Very nice kJ.nice..
Love the trash to treasure and the chair is lovely. Love it!
I like trash to treasure because of the out of the box thinking and creativity you all have. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!☺
At the enerd of your videos, would you mind sharing before and after film/photo? I love those kind of shots
Oh yeah, I like that too!
I love trash to treasure projects! I am always shopping thrift stores and yard sales looking for items. Your videos give me inspiration! I just wish items here were priced as good as you find them. Please keep the videos coming!

The stencil added so much to the chair, love it! Yes, more trash to treasure please!! TFS!
Love this vid, you encourage me. Tyfs, love trash to treasures
Love that color on the chair and the stencil is beautiful. Love that candle holder also, so pretty. The cabinet door is a great piece.

Correction! Health & Immune System are Deteriorating fastly I meant to say! 😁
If you all have autoimmune issues, you can try to avoid night shade foods. Also keep processed foods out of your diet. Be blessed
I do love trash to treasure videos because I have good luck finding items at a local thrift store!
I love it❤️❤️❤️you do all your diy so good and you make it so easy to understand it. Thank you for sharing 😀😀😀❤️❤️❤️

I like the chair but would put some padding on it
Me too! What color would you use? and or solid or patterned?
The stencil is beautiful, it looked much than I imagined
I love your trash to treasure videos, and this one was yet again, awesome! I’m still loving that color you used for the chair, and then the stencil just gave it that finishing touch! The stencil looks great on that chair! It almost has a doily like look to it . Very cool.
I love the trash to videos. All your projects were great.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you love it, it's beautiful.
Thank you Leonard for watching my video :)
Like the chair but would prefer a cushion instead of the stencil.
Thanks for that suggestion Eunice :)
The stencil gives is a Boho look, love it!! The home sweet home sticker was made for this project and just perfect!! The candlestand was so cute!! For hoildays, you could just add a bow under the candle part. Trash to treasure are my favorite videos!!!
Always love your crafts! Today my favorite is the home sweet home sign 😍
I love the chair and the stencil is gorgeous I also think that the color moss is so great on the coat rack.
I love the stencil! The sign was perfect! I want to make that! Everything was really good
Love the extra touch the stencil gives the chair.
make your on chalk paint .. dont buy the overly priced chalk paint name brand.
Mix 1/3 cup of Plaster of Paris and 1/3 cup of cool water; stir until completely smooth. Mix that with 1 cup of latex paint and stir thoroughly. This will make enough chalk-finish paint for one coat on a six-drawer dresser.
Lara Nunes absolutely correct!!!
Thanks i will do it!!!!
I never made such a mess as when I made my own chalk paint!! I ended up painting my hutch with regular latex wall paint! It came out lovely and I didn’t have to coat it with anything!!!!!
I bought this same stencil 2 years ago and also used it on a chair that I redid for my nieces birthday. She loved it
I do like the board with the hooks. That looks great.
Fabulous
I agree with Lani Bersch. The shabby chic distressed look is getting tiresome. It's been done way too much.
I am into color myself. My walls are white, but that's where it ends. I surround myself with color and things that look beautiful in sunlight.
I agree it's cute but a bit passé. Paint the old chair but don't distress it- just put a soft modern coloured cushion on it .
I think that candle is my favorite. It could go anywhere and the florals look beautiful - perfect colors with the white 💕
I actually love the stencil you used on the chair! I think I need it too lol!
I like the stencil it makes your piece unique
Lovely chair but I'm not fond of the decal.
Barbara Noble just the style of the decal? Or any decal on the chair. I was thinking of using decals on my next Trash to Treasure video but the look a bot different
I think that chair would be too plain without the decals.
I hate when people do sanding over, to me it spoils the whole thing after you've painted it, it makes it look like trash again. Just my personal opinion though.
Love the stencil!
I love the stencil. Gives it character. Just FYI, if you use a dauber sponge or brush and stipple the paint it will make it crisper.
Thank you for that tip Rene. Will do that on my next stencil. :)
Not a fan of distressed design elements. Your style is refreshingt hough
Yet another video of how to paint everything white..
I also don't care for shabby chic. I tend to ignore looking at anything distressed...I think that makes me a purist?!
I think the stencil is very pretty. The chair turned out very nice.
Love the stencil but I've never understood why people paint an object and then make it look like the paint is wearing off. Doesn't that defeat the whole purpise?

Really liked all of these. My favorite was the cabinet door coat rack.
I like that your treasures come out simple but classy.
Thanks so much. Stay tuned for more fun videos! :)
Love your trash to treasure videos, Love how you made the hat rack out of an old cupboard door !!!
I love the trash to treasure videos and loved the lace stencil. The stencil really gave the chair more character. I really like the Home Sweet Home idea. We have something like that by our door for keys, but if I had the room I would use the one you made. Love the candle idea for outside.
Totally love the chair...and love the cupboard door turned coat rack!! And that you used a dollar tree sticker instead of cricut!
Love the chippy paint on the 2nd project the most but all 3 were fantastic!
I loved all 3, but the cabinet door upcycle ROCKED! I would love to see more bicycling videos!
Stay tuned for more videos. Thanks for watching Susan! :)

Hi Beth Marcom. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch my channel. 😍
The stencil really makes it nice.

The coat/key rack would be great with hooks across the top for keys and use the bottom hooks for coats.
Love your trash to treasure videos! Thanks! I like the stencil too. I thought it gave the chair a lot character.
These are adorable. My favorite is the upcycle cabinet door.
Hi Genevieve MacBride! Thanks so much for watching my video. 😊

Good morning Liz! They turned out great! I love the chair stencil! Happy crafting! Hoping you have a gloriously beautiful and blessed week!
I can’t pick just one that I like any better than another! Great job 😊
Absolutely love the chair and stencil!!!
I’m not a distressed, chippy kind of girl but I loved these pieces!!!! I’m GOING to do the door with the hooks though with just a bit of distressed loveliness. Love watching your channel Liz!!!
Thanks for always watching my videos! ❤
I Want that coat hook cabinet!! I can't believe how easy that was. So magnolia market looking. Well done! I'm hooked on your videos now.
Jmo! Tyfs!
I really loved the Home Sweet Home sign.
I love love love trash to treasure videos!! As well as Dollar tree diy farmhouse videos!
Love the chair it looked sharp next to the cabinet! The door was great in the green, sweet candle stand🥰
Trash to treasure is my favorite.
I love the trash to treasure videos 👍 very nicely done! I like hearing about the tricks of distressing paint.
Love that Moss Green sooooo much! Beautiful project!
Wonderful ideas. I loved the chair. I would not have bought that stencil at all if I just saw it hanging there BUT I LOVE how it looks on the chair and am most definitely looking for it next time I am there. ❤️

Love all your projects! I love the stencil on the chair. It looks very lacey. Love the color of the board. My favorite is the candle stand.
