Yes, if TCM is defective, the transmission usually will have problems working correctly or not working at all, and the vehicle will not drive if automatic transmission is not shifting into gear.

@@upfixauto based off you’re knowledge my truck is shifting really rough into drive and reverse I have two engine codes a p0802 and a u1009 and I have no shift indicator on my dash I dialed it down to what I think is my tcm based off what I just described does that sound like a tcm issue the p0802 code says transmission control system circuit open and the u1009 basically says that the pcm or ecu witch in this case my ecu and tcm are built into 1 on the Allison 1000 5 speed I have is unable to communicate with the rest of the truck based off that does that sound like a tcm issue ?
So what happens if can’t replace your tcm and can’t find anyone to fix them that means you litterally can not drive your truck right?
