Greetings from the future and the Reiwa era! Just to clarify, the Showa/Heisei/Reiwa names are time periods which denote the years of rule under a particular Japanese Emperor. Sometimes an Emperor rules for many years so this is more accurate than simply referring to the relevant decades.

Actually, shin was my introduction to Kamen Rider. The plot and the special effects got me interested. Now I'm looking forward to Black/RX, Amazons and Dragon Knight (I've already watched it but i have to watch it again)
Great video. I'd like to add a couple more recommendations though. These would be Den-O and Decade. Den-O is a fun time travel story with some more weighty time travel aspects surrounding the secondary Rider, Zeronos. Decade, while a not so great season as a whole, serves as a pretty good taster platter of Heisei Kamen Rider as it gives you a gist of each of the Kuuga-Kiva Riders, whilst not outright spoiling them (except maybe Blade).
This video was VERY well done,and informative to the newbies of Tokusatsu without being at any time condescending...very well done and informative,as a loooooonnnggg time fan of Toku(I am 52,and a comic artist,kinda goes with what I do..) The only problem I have with it is that you're recomending mostly Heisei 2nd Phase Riders for Heisei era. W, Fourze and Gaim are different in the way they approach their themes as well as the overall climate of these kinds of shows from early Heisei Riders. They should be considered a different group entirely because of that, and most of the time they are (Showa, Heisei, Heisei 2nd Phase).
Kamen Rider Double reminds me of Schwarz from G Gundam. I was actually planning in watching some Kamen Rider series recently, but I didn't know where to start, so this video actually helped me a lot xD - V.D.
for the name of ishinomori's son, he was jo onodera(onodera was his former family name before he change it into ishimori in 1986) oh and he also appeared interviewing his father(shotaro) before the launch of kr BLACK and revealed what black means in the title.
I reccomend people who are okay with older graphics to watch Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki and Faiz as they were probably the best storylines in the Heisei era, Btw Ryuki was Battle Royale before it was cool lol, fyi toku fans usually refer to Riders after Decade as Neo-heisei riders
This is the show that got me into toku, and why I can't go back to anime. And Kamen Rider Amazon is one of rhe showa era seasons I super reccomend. Amazons is not a reimagining of Amazon, they're two different things. And mild correction, W also got a sequel. Not just Black.
I recommend Kamen Rider Decade. Not only that it will give you a massive nostalgia but it will also give you a quick recap and preview of the previous riders that you already watched and haven't watch. When I was a kid I only watched Ryuuki, Faiz, and Blade, then I came back watching it was with Decade already. And man after watching Decade I immediately watch every Hesei series because Decade series made me REAAAAALLY curious about the rider's individual story lines. So yeah I deeply recommend watching Kamen Rider Decade.
I started watching Heisei KR back in 2012 starting with Kuuga and then proceeding chronologically through to Wizard and I've been watching them as they air since Gaim. Related note: I've been watching Sentai as it airs since ToQGer. (With plans to watch the preceding Sentai, at least from Zyuranger onwards, eventually)
This is kinda late, but depends on genre if u wanna watch it. Kuuga - Blade is kinda dark Hibiki part 1 is a musical hibiki part 2 is sad Kabuto - Kiva is alot of solving the plot holes Decade is a summary W - Fourze is pretty awesome i can say. Wizard theme song is better than the show Gaim fruit ninja collab with dancing with the stars Drive is W season 2 Ghost is CW Flash Ex Aid is super mario on crack Build is Love and peace Zi O is decade season 2 Zero-One is The best debut of the Reiwa era Saber is fairy tale come to life Revice is W season 3 and add a little bit of Ghost in it.

Recently started watching Ryuki myself. It's my first Kamen Rider, and it hooked me right away with the mystery of just what riders are even supposed to do in its world. Plenty of great interactions between the characters outside of the cheesy fights too.
My recommendation for Kamen Rider. Showa Era: V3, X, Black, ZO. (ZX is not a show, but is a Special. I recommend that as well.) Heisei Era: Kuuga, Ryuki, W, Gaim, Build. Reiwa Era: Zero one. (And that's it because Reiwa Era so far only have 2 Riders, and Saber isn't done yet.) Other: Amazonz, Rider Time Shinobi, Rider Time Ryuki.

For an introduction to a toku franchise it might be awhile since I have to watch quite a few series in a franchise in order to become more familiar with them. IMO my re-introduction to Kamen Rider esp. in the Heisei ones were Ryuki and Faiz. Among all of the gimmicks heisei riders introduced the themes used in Faiz and Kabuto were the best for me since they're more tactical in a sense. I prefer hero themes who acts and fights like a Special Forces and secret agents.

Obviously this is an older video. I got into Rider with Gaim and while it is my favorite, I wouldnt recommend it as something to start with. It took me a while to get into other Kamen Rider series because Gaim is so different then the status quo. To date, I've only seen a few and KR is the least of the big three I've seen.

Well, it's complicated. There's an official TH-cam channel that has the first two episodes from every series, Shout Factory has four full seasons of Kamen Rider: the original series from 1971, Kuuga from 2000, Ryuki from 2002, and Zero One from 2019. Amazon Prime Video has both seasons of the Amazon original Rider series Kamen Rider Amazons/Amazon Riders, a dark and edgy reimagining of Kamen Rider Amazon, but it doesn't have the movie. Amazon will also be getting Kamen Rider Black Sun, a gritty reimagining of Kamen Rider Black. That's it for legal stuff, for everything else, piracy.
Super Sentai is even more limited to just twelve seasons at Shout Factory. Ultraman is more accessible since Shout Factory has loads of seasons, and you can watch new shows as they air on Tsuburaya's official TH-cam channel.
Super 1 apparently shits the bed quickly though. And Black is honestly not that great. It's fine, but it's not really the best. It's just that it's so popular with the Brazilian toku community because it was their first Kamen Rider show, and many of them seemingly refuse to watch any of the other Rider shows.

Obviously this is an older video. I got into Rider with Gaim and while it is my favorite, I wouldnt recommend it as something to start with. It took me a while to get into other Kamen Rider series because Gaim is so different then the status quo. To date, I've only seen a few and KR is the least of the big three I've seen.

Kamen Rider started in 1973. There wasn't a Kamen Rider in 1997. The closest to 1997 were Kamen Rider J in 1994 and Kamen Rider Kuuga in 2000-2001.

There's an official TH-cam channel that has the first two episodes from every series, Shout Factory has four full seasons of Kamen Rider: the original series from 1971, Kuuga from 2000, Ryuki from 2002, and Zero One from 2019. Amazon Prime Video has both seasons of the Amazon original Rider series Kamen Rider Amazons/Amazon Riders, a dark and edgy reimagining of Kamen Rider Amazon, but it doesn't have the movie. Amazon will also be getting Kamen Rider Black Sun, a gritty reimagining of Kamen Rider Black. That's it for legal stuff, for everything else, piracy.
Super Sentai is even more limited to just twelve seasons at Shout Factory. Ultraman is more accessible since Shout Factory has loads of seasons, and you can watch new shows as they air on Tsuburaya's official TH-cam channel.

Super 1 apparently shits the bed quickly though.
And Black is honestly not that great. It's fine, but it's not really the best. It's just that it's so popular with the Brazilian toku community because it was their first Kamen Rider show, and many of them seemingly refuse to watch any of the other Rider shows.
