  • Try these tips and exercises for feeding therapy in home to help your picky eater try new foods. I share with you some lip, tongue, cheek, and biting exercises that will help improve chewing and desensitize your kiddo. These may help children on the spectrum (ASD), low muscle tone, down syndrome kids, and children with cerebral palsy. Always consult your child's pediatrician or family doctor before starting treatment.

    My youngest went from eating to picky eating, to crunchy foods to now relying on bottles 😢 Currently seeking help for him now it’s bad enough I have another child with autism who also has an eating disorder. I am hanging on to hope 🙏🏻 Thank you so much for this video truly appreciate you!

    Thank you for saying not to do this during normal eating time...I've been having a hard time doing the feeding exercises because it ends up creating too much stress for the both of us when all we want to do is just eat lol so I haven't been consistent... snack time definitely sounds like a better time to do this

      I’m glad that suggestion helped. It is very important to remain calm and as stress free as possible but I know that can be difficult. Stay at it, sending you and your little one positive vibes 😘!

      Yeah, especially when you have very sensitive kiddos that are refusing to eat certain things for a reason. It is key to remember that they aren’t choosing to be picky, they just are wired differently.

    Would these steps be helpful for an almost 10 month old? And if not, do you have a video or other resources for a child that age? Thank you for responding.

      I don’t think these would be doable for a 10 month old. However, I have another video that is more geared towards infants.

    Does this work on 1 years ? I’m having trouble with her she was a 23 weeker

    • @mightykiddos
      @mightykiddos  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well congrats on your miracle baby. It is not unheard of premies having feeding issues mainly because a lot of them are tube fed for an extended period of time. She may be too young for the jaw stabilization exercises but all the other ones should work. I suggest you get her assessed for feeding therapy if she is gaging at the sight of certain textures, has a limited diet, or completely avoids certain textures/flavor/colors.
      I also have another video that may be beneficial I'll link it below. If you have more question you can DM on Instagram.

      @@examariramirez6697 Wishing you a smooth process. Since your little's adjusted age is about 8 months, this is a perfect time to start working on feeding. Best of luck and thank you for watching!
