I don’t think it was ego that drawn this out. I think it was they didn’t trust anyone else. Plus like all political figures there’s people who are used to the old establishment. What’s really funny here are the 60-70 yr old career politicians telling him he should hang it up.
It wasn't ego. Biden knows he is the stronger candidate, it was the elites who stopped backing him with his donations, but I for one was Ridin with Biden, as a conservative I will have a hard time voting for Kamala or any of the more liberal blue prospects. Biden might have had a bad debate, but his ideas are clear and he had more going than any other candidate. He killed it in the 2020 and 2024 primaries no other hopeful came even close, he has a track record as president of undoing all the terrible things Trump did and he is the president with most votes in history, even more than Obama. He knows many of us wanted him as candidate and if I could, I would have organized a Rally to Washington DC to ask democratrs to stop trying to convince him to resign. Many old people who would happily vote Biden won't come for Kamala, maybe even go for trump IN THE SWING STATES. Of course Korey living in Austin can see how people are in PA and MI but Kamala who never won a single delegate when she tried to earn the nomination back in 2020 might face worse challenges than Hillary clinton. People in certain states won't vote for a woman and even less a woman of color, but they would have voted Biden because he is of the old school of politics that are still popular in many towns of the swing states.

As a conservative (a true one, not like those MAGA's that follow a false messiah) I not only voted Biden last campaing, in both primaries and general. I made my family vote and volunteer. But there's no way I would have done anything for sanders. There's a reason we got stuck with two older candidates. Kamala might have a huge problem to get the votes of the rust belt.No way my mom would vote for someone who doesn't seem christian, we're devoted catholics. She won't vote Trump either.

We didn't need to. He only had to stay healthy until ingauration date. He is the stronger candidate among democrats in the swing states. The day of the debate and the day after he was talking full sentences and he might be slow and a stammer but his ideas are sound.
People don't forget Hilllary Clinton. People assume that the impopular guy couldn't win, but he won due to the swing states. I don't see Kamala winning the swing states where many old voters still prefer people like Biden. There's a reason Biden defeated all his challengers EASILY in both primaries: 2020 and 2024. And he got more votes than Obama because many white people prefer to vote for old white men.
Kamala needs to be declared the Presidential candidate NOW and they need a centrist, not a liberal, as her running mate or the voters in the swing states won't come in force to vote Blue, they will abstain, vote 3rd candidate or vote Trump.

I'm not a Trump supporter by any means but it's weird that people like you seem to think America is just suddenly going to become a non democratic nation if he wins and be some flourishing paradise if Kamala wins. Even if it was the case, by that logic, congress is, and has been, the biggest threat to democracy considering they don't have term limits. They literally refuse to limit themselves and strike it down any time someone questions it.
No, many of us conservatives (true conservatives, not the cult following Trump) would have never voted for someone like Kamala or Pettiburg back in 2020 pre-capitol attack. This country turned off my food stamps. When I was down on my look after my son died even though I have 2 other children and never turn them back on. The reason is because they're given them to the new foreigners that are coming into this country with no questions asked but not giving them to actual struggling citizens. Who pay taxes in have paid taxes since they joined the army at seventeen
You must know different foreigners than I do, because that's the opposite of every experience I've had with government aid and food stamps in general. If you're talking about illegal immigration specifically (usually how this goes), last I checked illegal immigrants pay more into the system than they take out because they have difficulty claiming benefits and pay taxes at higher rates than what they take out.

It was for the best that he dropped out. I wish he would have done so sooner. Yes, he was a better president than Trump and would have still been a better president than Trump even with the decline for the simple fact of the people around him and him being a much more decent person than Trump. However, his decline did not instill confidence in people. There were serious and understandable doubts of his fitness. While it is very safe to say that Harris will instill more confidence in her mental faculties, I hope Harris is able to show more charisma. I also hope it is not too late to build confidence of the people in time for the election.
This isn't even getting into Trump's obvious cognitive and psychological issues. A lot of the reason people on the left have been so angry about the constant coverage of Biden is that they set the bar so impossibly high for Biden, meanwhile Trump can set his own bar as low as he wants and he gets a pass for it. I cant help but laugh now that Biden has effectively been bullied into dropping out, many people are taking Trump's own insults against Biden and turning them back on him
