I think they really wanted to give Trump the opportunity to address, flat out some really important topics but instead of answering the questions, he made himself look worse by playing the victim card when he thought it benefited him. Look, I have nothing against conservatives and Republicans but I certainly cannot push for a President that reacts like THIS when challenged with tough questions--no matter if some of the questions might seem a little baiting. I'm all about needing a strong and firm leader BUT we also need to have an elected official/leader that's going to at least attempt at maintaining humbleness and respectability as well, not resorting to childish namecalling. I want to see someone who can read the room and make rational and intelligent decisions in tough, serious conversations, even in innocuous settings like this one.
100% Piippgybacking off of this somewhat a lot of folks interpret "strength" in a leader as simply being defiant, loud, and angry no matter what. Never say you're wrong, never admit you made a mistake, always act like you're 100% right. And hey, sometimes that kind of strength is needed. But with politics especially, you also have to know when to pull back because being angry or loud or defiant isn't going to be the most advantageous for getting your goals achieved.
