Hearing Matt's story about tearing up and then sharing that moment again with his buddies in front of him along with the other Hall of Famers and others, and US, was pretty special.
Matt Holliday is one of the truly good people in American sports. He was a joy to watch in Colorado purple and Cardinal red. He'll always be a household favorite of ours.
I was so disappointed when Matt left Denver. He was 'the Rockies'! But I also understand that it was best that Matt become what he should be - a champion and the Cardinals were the best.
I remember buying a pair of Green seats row B seats 1 & 2 dead center behind Yadi to watch Holliday's 1st home game. He had a double and nearly tripped over 2nd base. It was awesome.... I always remember watching him as a Rockie, saying damn I wish we'd trade for him. I mean we've gotten some nice player from Colorado.... Holliday, Aeranado (even though Holliday went to Oakland for a short time)
I live in Denver and refer to the Rockies as the National League farm club for the Cardinals. Galarraga, Walker, Holiday, Arenado. You get the picture.
Oh you know his son sees this and wants this. He was 7 in 2011 when his dad won the WS here. Can you imagine your dad being a part of that historic run? Now that obviously doesn’t mean that we automatically get him at some point lol but I have to imagine that he dreamed of playing for the Cardinals as a kid.
Was looking forward to seeing the full speech! His final at bat was something special
Yes it was!

Matt is very deserving of that red jacket!👍
I wonder if his son sees his happiness with cardinal red and will eventually come over

I love how the booing wasn’t towards Matt but towards mo
Still never touched home plate. Padres fan waiting for that🤔.
Woo hoo!!! No Mitt Mittens comments.
That attempt to catch with his junk was epic. His decision to sit out game 7 was HUGE.
Surprised he didnt mention the 2011 run
He would be great in 1982 but we're do we plass him he is a CARD it don't matter
No more finer center fielder!!
Left fielder
Another screw up by Mo!
