Thank you Spa Guy. I went to the Prince DeGalles 12 years ago and bought the 'Elvis In Paris' book at the Elvis shop on the other side of Paris in Montmartre that same day.

Do you know what Billy? I read in a paper recently that Lido De Paris had been hit by a fire recently wherever it was stationed now, so obviously it had been moved to another avenue or address. Thanks anyway for trying to find it. I will definitely get that book. But you sure found the old address even if it was changed a lot....but OK it was 40 years ago and things change by time.

The old Lido Club was futher down and opened in 1946 at 78 Avenue des ChampsÉlysée and moved to its current 116 Avenue des ChampsÉlysée in 1977 Finally I want to to thank Ashley Drew for her dedication to the preservation of history and Bob Pakes for the photos.

Fantastic three part video, you know, when you watch the first one, you can't wait for the second one, and when you watch the second one, you can't wait for the third, well Billy, you have smashed it yet again, like Chester said Elvis was never given the opportunity to do shows in Europe, but there was a reason behind that has we know, But with you Billy and like I have said before and I am going to say again, with you're videos you bring Elvis into our homes, and it doesn't matter were you live. I want to thank you for your hard work. I also want to thank you, form a old military dependent, for your service to this nation. I am glad Elvis wanted to serve this nation as well especially when he could of did otherwise...he definitely tightened up ( especially in special forces) !!!!! This helped get my day off to a good start as well...thanks again. Enjoying that new grandbaby ? Lord bless and keep bringing this great stuff to us.

Billy,Thank you for this video. It was very interesting. Looks like the shops and stores etc. were pretty. Yes, Elvis was a world wide performer. Probably his name (Elvis) was the most famous name on earth except Jesus Christ. I hope he went to heaven and I will get to see him there. I have been a great fan of his for over 45 years. That’s a great video especially for us Europeans as it’s good to know that there’s a part of the elvis puzzle on European soil. What’s even better is e stepped foot on British soil in March 1960 but I guess that’s for another time fingers crossed 🤞

In the Lido gallery,in the sixties there was a famous records store name Lido music ,the owner imported many rock and roll pionners records ,gene vincent,eddie cochran ,chuck Berry etc..and of course Elvis
That's where I bought my first Elvis album in 1961.Still have it
And also during this trip,elvis met Line Renaud at the casino de Paris.Line Renaud was the leader of a revue similar to Lido revue
Spa Guy, This is good stuff. I was watching the Memphis Mofia guys in a video and they were talking about this same thing happening in Vegas when Elvis had a party. They had something like 6 or 9 of the Chorus Line girls from one of the other Hotels at his party. They said that they called and held up the show until the girls got back. I guess it happened more than once. I am so sorry to hear that Rex passed away. Thanks for making the trip to Paris and for your extra effort to find the Lido Club that Elvis visited. I really like the lineups that you do with the photos. God Bless You.

I just did some research conserning the LIDO cabaret which was in the arcades was at the first place not in the floors but at the basement that's why you did not find it, and guess what ? They moved in 1977to the recent Lido, at 116AvChamps ELYSEE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. 🎂
Yes your right Mr. Lido club was in the basement in 78AvChamps ELYSEE
I wish I had time to figure that out before I left.. I will go down there next time in Paris..
@@SpaGuy The old Lido was on the right side, at street level, just before you enter the Arcades (it was called Les Arcades du Lido at the time). On the left side, facing the club, the was a record store called Lido Musique. Good luck.

That was a keen eye with Elvis and the clothing store. Wish you had the ability to overlay pictures of Elvis with present day pictures. That would really Pop!

Google says the original club was in the basement of the Arcade.
Thanks Bill.. Next time I will go down there.. I tried to figure it out but was on a time crunch so I had to move on.. I had 7 hours total time and we didn't know I was going there so Ashley and I had little time to prepare.. I was lucky to capture what I got..

Another great Spa Guy in Pareee, video getting the facts. As a couple others mentioned here in the comments. I always wondered why Elvis & TP, didn't line up a swing through Europe? I distinctly remember hearing in a couple interviews early on Elvis said he wanted to do Europe. Did ya run into (or did he run into you, literally :) ),, Inspector Clouseau there?
