Brilliantly filmed. We've all been shouting "Laycock" at the screen for over a week. Now we can stop!

As always Richard another very interesting talk and video staring you and the lovely Julia. Back in the 60s when I first got interested in photography, I heard about Lacock as being the birth place of photography and actually went down there from my home at the time in Sutton Surrey to take some photos of my own, from memory there were not so many tourists back then.

These longer videos are really entertaining, Richard and Julia! I visited Lacock a couple of years ago, and of course made a pilgrimage to Lacock abbey, one of the birthplaces of photography, being into photography and having done it professionally in the past.;. It being a Sunday, I visited the church, and actually attended the morning service!

Even then I remember thinking that most of the visitors were there only because of Harry Potter .Such a beautiful place obviously remains in the memory but I do need to revisit.

Old villages exude a historic energy that not everyone is susceptible to, but, fortunately, you have conveyed an exquisite aura, within the cinematic event presented here, which expresses, not only the intrinsic zeitgeist encapsulated by the baroque significance of the film makers art, but also creates a bloody good video!

It’s not impossible for both grandparents to be born in that same house and also be unrelated. It wasn’t unusual for poorer families to rent one or two rooms in a cottage/house with another family or families renting other rooms. It could be how his grandparents met, they grew up in the same house. Some of my family were weavers in Wiltshire back in the 18c and that’s how they lived. The loom would have been beside the window for the best light.

I've always wanted to Lacock (Lay Kok) the home of British photography. Bear in mind that W H Fox Talbot's negative/ positive process supplanted Daguerre and his Daguerreotype lasting until its recent replacement by electronics. In the late 1970s I met a 100 year old lady who claimed to be a great niece of Fox Talbot's carpenter's son who made FT's cameras, the carpenter that is.

Always keep your eyes down when in a field of cows. You never know you’ll find. Most of Lacock has been used for filming over the years.. Did you go down to the river and ford?
