For me, especally the ICM (pre-refit) was my absolute favourite. It was always amazig to watch trainsets connect. The ICmm is worse in many ways, not just because they shut the heads, but because they changed the bogies, making it move much rougher over the rails.

I think the ICNG has comfortable seats, they're better than I thought they would be. But it's indeed a bit tight. There isn't much room to walk between the seats, especially in 2nd class. Hight is also an issue, I have to watch out in places so I don't hit me head against something. Last the beeping sound of the door opening / closing is to loud for my taste. But overall, a promising train.
many of these reasons are due to basic ginometry, phisics and accesability constrains, if the Netherlands was allowed under EU rule tot raise platforms to 850 mm above the track these issue's could be resolved but EU law only allows for platform Heights of 750 mm or 550 mm. this causes the bogey's to come inside the train making those raised seats necessary but also making the floor to low to put equipment witch means that it was moved to above the pasenger compartments causing to low sealing. the 200 km/h top speeds also play a role i don't want to get into.

The TRAXX's have a top speed of 220 km/h it's the rebuilt ICRMh coaches with a 160 km/h cap. 3. Another accessibility point I noticed in this train is how you need to reach the wheelchair places. You need to maneuver between a big accessible toilet, and a baggage rack. The space between them is barely wider, if not narrower, than the average wheelchair. So good luck getting in the spot, and even better luck getting out before the doors close again. And that's in calm hours, I wouldn't want to be a wheelchair user in this train in rush hour.

There's a reason all the gubbins are on the roof - it allows for the floor to be level with the platform, because they don't have to mount stuff on the underside of the frame. Stadler's fleet have been using this trick too.

With freight, you have the same issues (at least on the betuwe route), where trains also have to switch between voltage and safety systems
the TRAXX locos originally have a topspeed of 140kmh by default, however, the ones NS use are modified to allow speeds up to 160kmh
frieght is not even allowed to drive on the HSL line. you would have the same problem anyway

There seems to be 1 AC outlet (good) and 1 USB-A port (bad) per 2 seats, in second class anyway. So no USB-C, and just 1 port for 2 people.
I've had never had problems with the round doors
They just open annoyingly slowly. I'd prefer it if they could be also just "hand operated".

Because they are old. On a certain point there is no need to rebuild them anymore

Why killer? ICNG was planed to replace the ICM that riding from 1977
Those old sets look like something Amtrak used to have
They were loosely inspired by the North American turbotrain so yeah that makes sense
Do SFM model locomotives clip on the rails? or do they just have to be carefully put on the rails?
That would be the latter option, however most tracks run in 90 degree angles so once the locos are on the tracks, they can be easily moved around.
