    Attaching the doorbell to the mount is a little difficult but once it locks into place it seems extremely sturdy. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxxHZwMa8CsRjYhf9s4W8w0Dwm47uytWOp I replaced my regular doorbell with this and hard wired it in, using my existing wires and mechanical chime. It works perfect so far and integrates perfectly with my blink camera system. It also works seamlessly with Alexa

    Great video. Is this worth spending more money on over the Ring Doorbell Wired? I am doing a full renovation of my house, so I will put new wiring from the electrical transformer to the front door and use a Ring Chime. I don't have an existing old-school chime in my house.

    You should install that ring power “adapter” first and then the doorbell.
    That protects the doorbell from voltage spikes. Otherwise you risk damaging your ring camera before you even get it installed.

    • @GranPuba
      @GranPuba 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well the first thing you're supposed to do is flip the breaker. So you shouldn't be getting a spike through the line if you flip the brake or on the doorbell.

    • @safehaven3486

      Robert is right. The Pro Power Kit ensures that your Ring video doorbell gets the power it needs and Must be installed before you install your video doorbell. I just followed the video and the doorbell worked at first. (FYI i flipped the breaker and switched it back on). After I installed the adapter it is no longer working. So now I'm guessing it's fried

    Recently installed the Ring video doorbell pro 2. We love it, but having issues with the transformer voltage reading in the Device Heath tab on the app. The pro 2 needs 16-24 volts and according to the Ring app, the voltage is around 16 which is good, but at times it drops to 15 volts and then I get a "poor" reading in the Device Health tab. Ring told me I probably needed a new transformer, however none of us can find it. My question is, if the voltage drops to 15 periodically, it that ok? If not, sounds like I'll need a totally different doorbell since we cannot locate the transformer. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks!

    What is the purpose of the "Power Adapter"? Will it matter if the existing transformer is 10 VA?

    • @OneHourSmartHome
      @OneHourSmartHome  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Ring Pro 2 requires 16-24V AC. If your transformer puts out 16V - 10VA it may work however typically 16V 30VA is recommended like this transformer: amzn.to/33NlY0r The purpose of the power adapter/booster installed in the chime is to provide a reliable power supply / boost for the Ring Pro 2 because it uses more power than the typical battery powered Ring Doorbells like the Ring 4 Doorbell: amzn.to/3fnyzNh. If you have 10va it may work, but if you are worried it will not work and you don't want to replace the doorbell transformer the Ring 4 would work in that situation, however the Ring 4 video quality is not as good as the Ring Pro 2 Doorbell video quality. I just posted a review on the Ring 4 today: th-cam.com/video/CrS8Rn68zzM/w-d-xo.html
