So this is one of the songs that always draws a tear from me . One of my best friends died 6 months before the rev did . So all of us were devastated by his loss then I remember being at my best friends house when we got the news that the rev had passed. This song helped us with our friends passing and yet we all grieved with Avenged Sevenfold also . Our friend who name was Caleb reminded us of the rev . Full of life and taken too soon . He was 16. The emotion in this song always brings me to tears . To play like they did and how they held together gave so many people hope . I had a chance to see them live before he died and my dad said I couldn’t go . When he realized why I wanted to go so bad after he had heard he died he told me I’m sorry sweetheart I owe you . Yet he passed my senior year . The song I had dedicated to my dad was gunslinger by A7X . I always think of them all having a beer at a huge table. This is the point of metal of music to inspire and heal and bring everyone together. I never thought that the last time I saw Caleb alive would have been one of the best nights of my life . You should react to Gunslinger by A7X

They really pumped their emotion into this song, you can tell they loved Jimmy like a brother. Such an awesome band, gosh
Fucking tears. I've been listening to Avenged Sevenfold for 11 years now (since I was 8), and they were my favorite band growing up. Jimmy was my inspiration to start drumming when I was a kid, but his death fucked me up so badly I quit, and I still can't bring myself to get back to it. He died twenty two days after my 10th birthday, and I was supposed to go see them with my dad but.. that didn't happen. I was wrecked for the longest time and I still get emotional about it. I just want my knife master to come back, it's been too long.
Although my one qualm with the live version is he doesn't include the "critical acclaim" rant part of the song. That's the whole reason why it's good lol... He should do the studio version
I've been an Avenged Sevenfold fan since late middleschool-highschool, and I've heard almost every song they've made and this is by far my favorite song, I don't care what anyone says, The Rev is the best drummer to ever live, there's even a video explaining why he was a genius, the band lost a legend, and he can never be replaced, their songs haven't been the same since, RIP Jimmy
God even 12 years later i still cant even listen to this without tearing up. A big part that Alex, i think you missed out on, was that the bits of the music video that's not old photos and videos is literally a recreation of the band growing up - they knew each other IRL since middleschool at least, and they literally grew up as a friend group. Avenged Sevenfold was originally their old garageband, they released their demo tape that would later be expanded into Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, their debut, when they were just 18. They were together as a band and as friends constantly since they formed in 99 and the only real time they were apart to any degree was when James died. So when this came out and we all realised what we were watching, it was such a fucking gutpunch. They say Nightmare was the Rev's tribute track and honestly i think it pales in comparison to this. Christ i'm crying writing this 😂
@@seanslawson98 I had to double check & they do a song called Gone Away & Far From Home, but, Carole King also did a song titled So Far Away! Crazy. Have a great Pi Day! Peace.
Yes this! I am going to spam you on every platform until you do it! I haven't had a song actually make me smash the steering wheel while driving in a long time - this one did instantly!
I've had 3 of my childhood friends die on me. There is no worse feeling in the world. Somebody who was always there, just gone. I don't wish that pain on anybody. So, this song hits home for me, big time.
The Stage was a pretty big let-down to me overall. They took the worst song off Hail to the King, which was Planets, and then built a whole album off of it. The song was fine, but the first verse had that weird melody that doesn't fit at all, the one when he sings "No need for counsel, I appreciate the time, I'm not alone." The melody during the first part, "No need for counsel, I appreciate the time" just feels so weird to me. Sounds out of tune, and feels weird AF. So does the same line in verse two, " Would overlook the ugliness and fantasize." Just feels so weird. The whole album sounds rushed. Like they were not quite done with it and were like, "Good enough." And then just released it.
This song got me through losing all three of my grandfathers within a 3 year period. The first time I saw them live and I heard this song you could feel how this song heaped everyone in the audience and in the band get through losing a loved one. I can keep it together until the "I loved you, you were ready" line and I always lose it. They will foREVer be my favorite band.
@@1997barton i love pretty much all albums. The first two are extremely underrated. I own the waking the fallen book for guitar, and the self titled album.
Potato 2nd in Command yeah I've never been disappointed by A7X, they're a truly great band, I hope we get something new soon I'd love to see them live again
This video caused the first ever true "breaking of the internet" when it debuted. The video was so long awaited by fans that when it finally debuted on the band's website, it crashed their site for HOURS. They tried to republish it but it crashed again. They wound up just posting it to TH-cam (which still hadn't grown into the platform that it is today) to ease up the traffic. It remains their most-viewed video ever posted to TH-cam. That's how much this song, this video, and this band means to the fans.
I've always found this song a tough listen. Not because it's bad, but because of the pure emotion this song holds. The talent these guys have in unreal. Especially Synyster Gates with the guitar lines he plays toward the end. It's amazing how you can feel their pain through just a guitar line. Been going through your channel and watching your Avenged reactions, then I came across this, and for some reason I was feeling emotional. It's one thing to hear the song, but with the video along side it it's just heartbreaking. Anyway I cried like a bitch
All your A7X stuff has been new. Gotta hear some old stuff. Their early sound was much different. Unholy Confessions would be a great early avenged sevenfold song to react to! the other reason for you to hear some early avenged sevenfold is so you can actually hear the revs amazing and unique style of drumming
Absolutely stunning song 😭 Alex's smile at 6:10 speaks volumes about what a beautiful soul Jimmy was; thanks for the genuine reaction man, I think you handled this hard-hitting song and video really well! R.I.P. Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan ❤🤘🏻
Love the song, but damnit it breaks my heart for those guys when it shows the clips of them with the Rev. The love those 5 have for eachother is amazing and i cant imagine what it would be like to lose a best friend.
I tear up everytime I hear this song. Used to make me think of my cousin. I miss her a lot and she left us way too soon. Then my dad died and now this song hits me so much harder.
A7X plays this song live with so much emotion. I bought tickets for some friends of mine who lost their brother in a fatal shooting. Once they started playing this tune, we all held one another and cherished Donnie's memory. #RIP
This song came out around the same time one of my childhood friends took his own life. So to say it hits close to home is a massive understatement but godammit it's one of my fave songs in the world n always will be
This album does rule, on hail to the king the revs presence was missed big time, but since they added brooks they bounced back well with the stage which was really dope and a whole new direction for them, I’m really excited to see what their new album sounds like.
Well, their self-titled was their peak IMO due to the insane amount of variation within the album, in every sense, but yes Nightmare has been their peak aside from that.
@@WSlopeAggie I appreciate the variance in that album and love it but strongly disagree that is their peak. COE/WTF/Nightmafe are all widely considered their best albums, COE and WTF are both pretty much perfect albums with not one song that’s anything less than great, self titled is great and has some of their best songs but I don’t think it has the consistency of their best albums. Still love it tho and still have songs like brompton cocktail/almost easy in consistent rotation, just think songs like dear god/lost/unbound are worse than anything on COE or WTF or even nightmare.
I love how you exposed your reality and not deep on that, not because it's not important, but you're are ok, this is not about you. That's why I want to hear about you more! Nice guy, full of light, I've seen 5 or 6 of your videos and I like you. I'm not a love everyone, so I think you're special. Cheers man!
Ty for this Alex, I listened to this pretty much non-stop for about 6 months when my bf at that time passed away it was my way of healing and you watching it and me getting to hearing it brought up mixed emotions and alot of memories (mostly good) ty again for this moment to remember, love you Alex and A7x R.I.P. kelsey cordell absolutely Rev's passing was the saddest day in the lives of, not only his band mates, but for all A7X fans The world over R.I.P. Rev, you're very sorely missed
the Rev was a decent drummer at best, I'm so done with people idolizing the Rev. There are literally hundreds of better and more mind-melting drummers out there and people decide that the Rev is the height of drumming. Fucking kidding me!?
That last verse gets me every time, I have this song on my therapy playlist, it helped me get through my grandma’s death. The line “the pain is strong and urges rise” is especially powerful to me because I became suicidal and nearly died myself. Music in general saved my life.
Lets just ignore the fact that "Little piece of heaven" exists and was written/composed mostly by none other than jimmy ofc. But thats the thing tho, jimmy brought that aspect to a7x. That wildcard, weird guy, who could do almost anything and play everything. The guy was crazy. A7x was never the same after his loss.
The ReV...!!! This shit punches you right in the heart!!! My kids are like why you crying... Cause the world lost someone great!!! Rest easy my dude!!!
Just the utter amount of emotion synyster puts into his playing shows how much The Rev meant to them. I legit cried when I heard this song. It’s so damn hard to lose a good friend or somebody you’re close to. Amazing song

Christ i'm crying writing this 😂
The song has to be the Stage, plus Staind has a song called So Far Away worth listening to
@Sean Slawson, didn't FFDP also do a song titled "So Far Away"? The Stage is pretty funny! Rock on!
Maggie Rezac I don’t listen to FFDP, so I don’t know
@@seanslawson98 I had to double check & they do a song called Gone Away & Far From Home, but, Carole King also did a song titled So Far Away! Crazy. Have a great Pi Day! Peace.
@@maggierezac5820 gone away is by The offspring, ffdp coverd the song.
@@rimyxb1551 Yep, you are correct. FML I am batting zero today so I'm out.
React to “Save me” by avenged sevenfold, it’s amazing!!!!
I 100% agree
Their best song!!
Oh boy... i would love to see that! Hell yeah!
Strength of the World is my personal favorite, but it's hard to choose, they're my favorite band.
Underrated song. One of my favorites by A7X

Avenge sevenfold Hail to the king
Yes this! I am going to spam you on every platform until you do it! I haven't had a song actually make me smash the steering wheel while driving in a long time - this one did instantly!
10+ years after the song came out and it still makes me feel feelings.
I've had 3 of my childhood friends die on me. There is no worse feeling in the world. Somebody who was always there, just gone. I don't wish that pain on anybody. So, this song hits home for me, big time.
Sorry about your dad Alex...
That song is a so powerful to me so thank you for the reaction
*The Stage would be a pretty good follow up*
*Plus, the video is amazing*
Like they were not quite done with it and were like, "Good enough." And then just released it.
honestly one of the best bands i've seen live.
m deadshot hell yeah!
They're a bestfriends since they was in highschool!
That's why the feels is so damn sadly..!
Middle school (Rev and Syn)
Not just there friend, but they're brother💓
Actual a couple if them were friends since middle school.
pretty sure matt said he met the rev in second grade in timeout lol
Can’t watch this without getting choked up. It’s about their drummer who passed away #foREVer
Avenged Sevenfold is by far my favorite band Alex and I appreciate you and all that you do. Thank you for reacting to this song. A7x foREVer
Why is nobody asking for a song called 'I won't see you tonight'? I think it's the best song of A7X
tommywie i feel like everything off of waking the fallen is underrated by the people who suggest songs, to me it’s their best album
He’d have to react to both parts of that one.
DeadWire Promotions COME BACK TO ME THIS IS UNCONCEIVABLE
It's the final " So Far Away" from M. Shadows & the final guitar screech from Syn that just makes you wanna cry... The emotion is just too much...
React to I Prevail- bow down.

Liked the video before even watching it because I love A7X and I love all of your videos!
Powerstroke Puller I definitely agree w/ u on that. Hell, Turn the Other Way is another great song too.
One of the first full songs I learned on my guitar some 13-14 years ago, loved all the hammerons\pulloffs fun song to play.
Agreed! But can you write A7X and not AX7?
@@cygnus-x LOL yes, thank you
@ Powerstroke Puller I second Unholy Confessions. It’s the song that got me back into A7X after a few year hiatus
Such a beautiful song, shadows vocals so emotionally powerful and syns painfully beautiful solos just tug at the heartstrings

A7X plays this song live with so much emotion. I bought tickets for some friends of mine who lost their brother in a fatal shooting. Once they started playing this tune, we all held one another and cherished Donnie's memory. #RIP
This song came out around the same time one of my childhood friends took his own life. So to say it hits close to home is a massive understatement but godammit it's one of my fave songs in the world n always will be
Man, this song always hits so hard. Always brings a tear to my eyes.
To that ending point of "don't wait for the future", listen to the song Seize the Day by A7X.
Kiosfriend yes
Avenged truly peaked with this album. Even if it might not be my favorite album they were never quite the same after
It was revs final masterpiece to the world .
The Stage is so good tho!
Rev's passing was the saddest day in the lives of, not only his band mates, but for all A7X fans The world over
R.I.P. Rev, you're very sorely missed
@Squeek Tate it should...
the Rev was a decent drummer at best, I'm so done with people idolizing the Rev. There are literally hundreds of better and more mind-melting drummers out there and people decide that the Rev is the height of drumming. Fucking kidding me!?

song makes me cry everytime
That last verse gets me every time, I have this song on my therapy playlist, it helped me get through my grandma’s death. The line “the pain is strong and urges rise” is especially powerful to me because I became suicidal and nearly died myself. Music in general saved my life.

"Radio friendly" they have a song about necrophilia.
About that.....
And murder, and rape.. and satanic reigns..
Lets just ignore the fact that "Little piece of heaven" exists and was written/composed mostly by none other than jimmy ofc. But thats the thing tho, jimmy brought that aspect to a7x.
