    Pepto bismol. 1ml is 1cc per 10 lbs given 3x day. Give up to 7 days only. Rice diet only. OR you can give Kaopectate 1cc per lb of dog weight given every 4 to 6 hrs for 1 to 2 days only.

    Funny how he said at 8 years old, their guts have harder times digesting, because that’s exactly what is happening to my sheltie. She is on a homemade bland diet, and we’ve been to the vet and through antibiotics 3 times over the course of several months. Finally giving her bismuth from the vet, her poo has been great! I think the kaolin pectin is same. Small and frequent meals has also helped a ton. We figured out that stress, diet change, empty stomach and excess stomach acid were the causes of her recent chronic colitis. Plus she had a cough when barking or drinking, and that went away.

    My 9 year old standard goldendoodle has had about 5x diarrhea in the last 2 months. He weights 88lbs. I been giving him the bland diet and he gets really good in about 3-5 days but then when I start introducing his canidae kibble mix with a bland diet he starts getting diarrhea again😥. SO iam thinking is the kibble. He did not had problems with this brand before.. This past week he is been on bland die again. White rice and cottage cheese or ground beef with a little bit of Brutus dog broth and his poop got really solid. Yesterday I gave him a little bit of kibble in morning and nigjt, also started to give him fish oil pilds again and one consequin tablet and one simparica tablet and also one carrot cause he loves carrots...anyways he has diarrhea again...should I change his kibble or should I take a poop sample and take him to the vet..maybe hes developed food allergies bow that he is older??

    Hi Dr. I have 8 month old German Shepherd... He is having diarrhea for almost two months... My Local Vet performed fecal test and they came back negative, dog was put on for metronidazole 500 mg twice a day for 10 days... that did not cure the diarrhea... then Vet performed Xray and advised us that there is some Inflammation in intestine...VET then subscribed Sulfasalazine 500 mg two tablets THREE times a day... He is on this med for almost 7 days and I have not seen any improvement...Please kindly advise, I am spending lot of money right and left and not have a cure for poor dog..PLEASE, PLEASE HELP...Thanks

      I have a paralyzed doggie that has bouts of colitis nothing the vets tried seem to work, I was at my wits end, because this little guy wears diapers and it was so hard to keep him cleaned up, A vet finally tried him on 6 weeks of a powder called Tylan, it worked wonders he did well for a couple years, and has recently had a short bout again, I will ask for it again if he continues to have a problem...

      I know this is a one year old comment, so hopefully it was resolved. But that is classic colitis. All too common for dogs to eat something they shouldn't have, then the colon reacts by shedding inner lining, which usually is a mucousy mess, which may or may not have blood

    TLDW
    TAKE YA DOG TO THE VET,
    NOT VERY USEFUL VID

    • @CHRISFREE84
      @CHRISFREE84 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really was because I just took my dog to the vet for diarrhea and everything he said that's what the vet told me even describe the medication he name and change the food to a bland diet for a couple of days my dog has had diarrhea for about 5 days he was still eating and drinking but he's a 10lb Yorkie small after one dose of that medication I followed him outside about three hours later and his stool was firm

    • @skashax777x
      @skashax777x 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you expanded my TLDW, take ya dog to the vet, with I took my dog to the vet and he said the same thing and prescribed the same medication, how is this even remotely useful?
      changing a dogs diet to plain chicken and rice is common when they suffer with diarrhoea,
      something as simple as changing dog food brand can cause diarrhoea,
      but are over the counter meds avabile for treating such or do you let it run its course as the body adapts to a new diet?
      or do I still need to take my dog to the vet at a consultation cost, sample and blood works tests plus a prescription cost, plus a recommendation of a veterinarian supplied pet food at an inflated price to general pet store cost?
      another way to put the TLDW is, dogs are scavengers, they have eaten something that has given them a bacterial infection,
      take ya dog to the vets they will do a battery of tests and prescribe meds, all at a cost ofc,
      so what other reasons can cause diarrhoea? when do I need to worry enough to take em to the vet, will a plain chicken and rice diet suffice? are over the counter meds available? etc
      as humans, we have Immodium and other brands of meds to stop diarrhoea, it is also good advice to remain hydrated with the help of dioralyte aka Pedialyte. and thus I would not seek medical attention instantly when I suffer with diarrhoea,
      not every issue needs a vet instantly like this vid suggests back to the TLDW of take ya dog to the vet,
      in some cases, a vet is a waste of time and money, I was looking for more info than this vid offers.

      I’ve been using fish Aid amoxicillin for my dog, everytime she gets diarrhea. I break a capsule, delute int with filtered water, and give small doses. It’s worked beautifully for my small fur baby!
      I bought it on AlliVET
