    Hi Katelyn. I absolutely loved this video for so many reasons. First you gave us some great tips; second, we got some amazing recipes to make ahead and freeze; and lastly and my favorite was the fact that you cook for your dad. I love that about you. You and I have that in common. I know he loves and appreciates that you do this for him. I hope all are well in your family. Have a great week, sweetheart.

    Thank you for making tatortot hotdish the right Minnesotan way! I see everyone make it wrong 🤦‍♀️ also, why does it always taste better the 2nd or 3rd day?! We buy a whole cow at a time, we are currently waiting for our cow and we will get a whole pig in March.. Maybe it's just a Minnesota thing that we buy our meat from farmers?! So much cheaper and better meat even if it's in bulk! Just make sure you have a big enough freezer for it 🤣

    Love your freezer meal videos. Those green bag holders have a clip on them. Is there a reason you don't use them when filling your bags? Just curious cuz I want to buy some, but if you don't use them because they don't work or break easily I don't want to waste my money.

    • @katelynskitchen2689
      @katelynskitchen2689  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love them and would highly recommend them! The only reason I fold the bags over like that is because I don’t like the edges of my bags to get messy. When I fold the tops over, the top inch or so stays nice and clean so it just makes it easier to seal. But using the bag holders with the clips works well too. I’ve used them both ways. Worth every penny if you make freezer meals often 😊

    These look quite tasty. Thanks for sharing. I do wonder why you (and most other people, it seems) usually use chicken breasts instead of thighs. Do you prefer the flavor of the breast? I find thighs have a much better taste and are usually less expensive. To each his/her own, but I was just curious.

    Easy and delicious freezer meals while saving money on processed foods. Well, I'm sorry to be a Debbie Downer here but, if you are spending money and using canned cream of mushroom soup, canned beans, taco and ranch seasoning packets, bottled BBQ sauce, bottled Italian dressing, queso among other stuff I'm sure...well sweetie, that's all pretty processed. Where's the savings? Why not make it yourself? For the first 30 mins I watched...some of that stuff is not hard to make from scratch and it's healthier for you and your family. Plus.... using chicken that you didn't trim the fat from? Why? 🤢. I stopped watching after 30 mins.... I just couldn't. I'll stick to watching Becky at Acre Homestead for scratch home cooking freezer meals. If she buys it from a store it's because she couldn't make it herself.
    Best of luck to you.

      @@chimimi1969 I don't actually disagree with you, in terms of factual truth about the video. And you're certainly welcome to speak your mind -- I'd be a hypocrite to say otherwise. But if you were on the other side of your first comment, would you think someone using that phrasing was trying in good faith to help you, or trying to cut you down for their own amusement? Because the tone read like the second one, and if that wasn't your intention, I'm trying to give some constructive criticism of my own. Doesn't hurt to tell people what you liked, too, not just what you thought was lacking -- and if you watched for a full half hour and thought it was worth your time to leave feedback, I have to assume you saw something positive to talk about, too. Consider sharing that next time along with the jabs.

    Please clean your chicken first (by cleaning I mean take off all that nasty fat and any veins that the chicken may have). That is a problem I have with crock pot meals people don’t clean their chicken 😩
