One of my favourite movies, and everyone remembers Swayze in Ghost but for me this is his best performance, and of course the "adios amigo" jump HE did it, no stunts or cgi. Rest in peace Patrick Swayze

The surfer in the house during the raid that shot himself in the foot was Anthony Kiedis from the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

This is one of my favorite films. I was 20 when this came out and I so glad I saw this one in the theaters. Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze were magnificent in this film. I skipped watching the remake; no way can what Reeves and Swayze did ever be remade, rebooted or copied. Not to mention all the other people involved in making it, especially the director, Kathryn Bigelow. I love her films, especially her first, Near Dark, a vampire movie. I was 16 when that was released. One thing I love about Point Break is the ocean. The ten years I spent in the Navy gave me a love for the ocean that will never die, even though it has been 17 years since I have actually been on the water.
Seeing this in theatres must have been an incredible experience! And it's so true, I can't imagine anyone else being able to play those roles!

Fun Fact: Chris Pedersen's character Bunker is a reference to Bunker Spreckels, a surfer/playboy who passed away in 1977.
Action Star Fact: Patrick Swayze was an accomplished skydiver, and took part in the big skydiving scene himself. According to Gary Busey, Patrick Swayze was so nuts about skydiving that he actually badgered him until he gave in and agreed to go with him after filming.
Art Imitates Life Fact: Johnny Utah became an FBI agent after a knee injury ended his football career. In real life, Keanu Reeves was once an aspiring hockey player who suffered a knee injury, and went on to become an actor. Patrick Swayze also suffered a serious knee injury playing football and went onto become an actor too.
Movie Magic Fact: To get close-ups of the actors during the skydiving sequences, a crane rig with a telescoping arm was built for each actor. The rigs enabled the cast to say their lines while the camera shot them from below and to the side to achieve the sense of floating while skydiving. In order to provide a more fluid feel, the camera was on a similar rig.
The fact that they BOTH had knee injuries that pushed them to become actors is so interesting. I love all of these facts!!
Gary Busey was in another good skydiving related movie, Drop Zone with Wesley Snipes and Yancy Butler (also Theo Cosby and tv’s Ferris Bueller).
He sky dives out of a commercial airliner at 30,000 feet, on purpose.
Great cinematography on the skydiving teams too.
Similar to this movie in theme (good guy chasing bad guy) but he’s the adrenaline junkie this time.

Patrick Swayze was an incredible actor. Keanu Reeves proved that he had a flair as an action star with this movie. I don't know if you caught the reference to Road House in this movie. When Johnny realizes that Bodhi and his friends are the Ex-Presidents. Johnny follows Bodhi to Patrick's Roadhouse. Please react to Road House (1989).

This is one of my all time favourites movies. Btw, Swayze did his own skydiving in the movie and also did his own surfing stunts too.

My best friend just had a kid, he named him Bodhi. Our other friend John, we have been calling Utah for 20 years. Going skydiving next week to celebrate my buddies kid. This movie goes deep with me.
Swayze did in fact do his own skydiving in this movie he was even skydiving so much in his off time that production had to ask him to stop
Bohdi actually only kills one person in the movie, but you can easily say that he's directly responsible for the deaths of his fellow ex-presidents, and Pappas.

I was 19 years old when this movie came out and saw it with my friends in the theater near my house probably 10 times. I was a huge Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves fan so this was just our summer jam so to speak. (about to watch but I predict you will love it) 😁

Side note: at 12:39 the guy who Keanu pulled his hair out, is named Matt Archbold. Even though Patrick Swayze did his own surfing stunts, some of the extreme surfing where you couldn't see Swayze's face, that surfer was Matt Archbold. Swayze also cracked 4 of his ribs surfing in the movie. Woops!

Have to respect Cameron for pushing to get this movie in theaters a week after T2. No telling how many tickets got sold to this after T2 showings sold out.
This is a perfect movie.
When skydiving you are unable to talk as the air is moving too quick to allow your vocal cords to work. Swayze was an occomplished skydiver and had done hundreds of solo dives.
Not true about your vocal cords statement. It is true that it is practically impossible to hear others speak in freefall because of the air rush, but if you are near pull altitude, and you yell really loud, you can actually be heard from the ground, even before you pull. You guys should do an introduction video of who you are with a little background - where you grew up, your age, your influences, work, hobbies and why you decided to do make this channel so we understand where you're coming from.
As for your final thoughts, please be sincere if the movie was good, bad, or indifferent to you. We know you're not going to like everything. Back up your thoughts with specifics - acting performance, plot, cinematography, screenplay, music, team chemistry. Did the story leave you thinking? Would you watch it again? Etc.
Anyway, I was just a little kid when Point Break came out but saw it when it was available to rent at Blockbuster, which my dad would take my sister and I on Friday nights. Love this movie. Shortly after, my dad moved to Newport Beach, CA. We'd visit him on the weekends. And of course, it was my opportunity to learn to surf.... And I did. Point Break was the inspiration. I'll suggest a few 80s-90s classics that haven't gotten many reactions that should:
Flight of the Navigator 1986 (my childhood favorite) Cast: Sarah Jessica Parker and Paul Reubens RIP (aka Pee-Wee Herman)
Diggstown 1992 (James Woods, Heather Graham, Oliver Pratt)
Encino Man 1992 (Sean Astin, Brendan Fraser, Pauly Shore)
Far and Away 1992 (Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman)
Beyond The Law 1993 (Charlie Sheen, Michael Madsen, Rip Torn)
Cool Runnings 1993 (John Candy)
Fire In The Sky 1993 (the only movie that ever scared me)

He was in Singles, Born in the Fourth of July, Justified and Ally McBeal among others.
Similar with Rosie but he does more tv than movies.
Seems he’s been a guest or regular on a lot of tv popular series including: Purge, Oz, Wanted, Defiance, Chicago PD, Army Wives, Generation Kill, the Americans, Longmire, Blue Bloods etc.
50% of the reason i watch is jordan's facial hair.

Just recently found you guys and you are very chill and fun to watch. Hoping for success for you! Something you might consider is using something like the imdb top 250 movies of all time. Might be a good way to stay "focused" on what to watch. And yes, agree with everyone, Jordans mustache is super keen.

Bodhi and Johnny have a very batman-joker relationship they hate each other yet equally respect each other. The vhs box descripes the movie plot as johnny falls under bodhi's charming spell. I dont think the movie always shows that. I love how johnny left him to die in the wave. Johnny lets him die in a way he wanted to go only because of thier werid "relationship" its a clever ending

If you think of it the first Fast and Furious movie is Point Break on Wheels lmao also at the end Keanu Reeves has longer hair because it was a reshoot of the ending. His hair is longer because he was filming Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey

You two were complimenting the cool POV shots throughout this: you really should react to the movie Kathryn Bigelow and James Cameron made after this called "Strange Days," with Ralph Fiennes and Angela Bassett. It's a difficult one to describe, all I can say it's a mystery/action/thriller with virtual reality and police corruption. Extremely technically well done and superrrr 90s!

You think jeans on a beach is bad, when my dad got out of the military in the 70's, the beaches here in Louisiana would have guys walking around in full pimp suits. They weren't there to swim, of course, they were there macking on the ladies, fully decked out in their dress clothes. One of those hench goons that jumped Johnny early on is the lead singer of Red Hot Chilli Pepper's. Patrick Swayze's character looked like he'd be some dude named Bodey

The producer didn't really want Bruce Willis to play John McClane because he thought he didn't look like a action hero.. at the time guys like Stallone, Arnold, snipes... were big but willis was a comedy and T.V. actor... I believe the director really wanted because he wanted to show an average badass and do something different... Personally... I think Bruce Willis fits the role and portraying an average guy worked well and helped make die hard franchise one of the classic 80s movies

This movie is classic 90's cheese .. Im thinking that old wedge of Muenster at the store that no one wants to buy but you still look at it every time. Anyway.. I grew up in Hawaii and the Los Angeles harbor area. The ocean was a part of my daily life for decades. Sharks: Generally will not mess with you if you keep moving and ignore it. They are damn near blind and want an easy meal. Unfortunately surfers are attacked by sharks due to mistaken identity. From below, to a blind ass shark, the surfboard with legs hanging over looks like a sea turtle. Easy pickins for the shark. My personal favorite sea creature is the Manta Ray. Such a graceful and majestic creature. They are totally harmless to humans. They are filter feeders, they just filter sea water thru and any amebas and plankton gets eaten. They actually enjoy human contact and are quite gentle for something the size of a school bus! There are tons of videos of people swimming with the Manta Rays. #savethemantas
If you fine folks are a fan of science fiction might I suggest Stargate for a movie reaction, or The Expanse for series reaction if y'all decide to delve into tv series

Scream would be perfect because even though it's intense it's not overwhelming or gory. Plus there is a lot of humor in it

I used to watch this film a lot and I thought it was just my personal guilty pleasure. I forgot practicaly everything except Johnny handcuffing Bodhi while almost being drowned and that they yelled at each other a lot. I am not so sure if I still like it and I also avoided the remake.
and the reboot is the absolute worst. Don't bother.
