    I love that subtle dig "when BMW says 207 you get 207."

      And less torque every time the HP increases. I understand all the racing regulations and CC classes, but it would be nice to actually keep or increase torque, while the HP goes up. Broadening torque is what was badly needed on this bike, so that's a plus.

      Where have you seen that? I've had my 899 and V4 baseline dynod before mods and both were very well in line with the factory numbers. German brands tend to be a bit conservative with numbers so I'd imagine this bike is over the claimed 209. My last three cars 2 Audis and a BMW all dynod higher than advertised. (all numbers corrected for crank hp and the type of dyno factored in, obviously)

    Rarer each passing day.

    BMW is setting the bar higher with every generation of S1000RR

    • @Big1_
      @Big1_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Nanderlizer Nanderlizer i love those comments like your "is a bit lacking compared with other bikes" Yeah, why dont you start saying which bikes is the bmw lacking?? This bike is perfect, and far better than Ninja´s which dont have LED lights and TFT screen and grip heaters...

    • @DarwinAllen
      @DarwinAllen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I hate to break it to you but LED lights and grip heaters can be added to any bike for pennies. The TFT screen makes zero difference to the performance of the bike. I agree this bike looks like a sweet machine (even though I think it's subjectively ugly), but it's not the lights or the grip heaters that make it awesome. You can get all those features on a fucking scooter 😂

    • @Big1_
      @Big1_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@DarwinAllen You CANT install LEDS in a ninja, you CANT install a TFT screen in a NINJA which leads all the functions of the bike.. And you CANT lower the price of a Ninja to less than 19.000 euros. And im not talking about performance because its obvious (at least for everybody normal and rational ) that BMW is superior on performance than a Ninja.

    • @DarwinAllen
      @DarwinAllen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Big1_ calm down, you can put LED bulbs or even full aftermarket assemblies in almost any common bike. And no kidding this bike is better than a Ninja - that's not setting the bar very high, but the headlights and gauge cluster are not the defining reasons why. You don't sound like someone that does much actual riding.

    • @Big1_
      @Big1_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DarwinAllen dude, why you are saying that? im riding since i was 9 years old and i had 6 bikes.... idk how you can pronosticate that sentence.

      Let's hope it is sunstancial, or £65K is a fucking expensive RRr.

    • @DarwinAllen
      @DarwinAllen 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah plus the motor replacement situation. An even more interesting video I'd like to see is the Panigale R with the claimed 230+ hp race exhaust against the HP4 Race. HP4 Race will win for sure since it's way lighter and track-only, but I'm wondering what the margin is as far as lap times and fun factor. BMW really needs something street-legal in the middle here I think. An M1RR (or something like that since they'er ditching the HP nomenclature) with more ponies and more exclusive materials / components would be awesome.

At the same time, while waiting for a new Ducati, I've been waiting for a new style of BMW. I think your new S1000RR (M) bike looks good, and I am very interested. The rear lights make perfect sense for track being able to whip it all off in one. However for the road and the fact that they are integrated into the tail tidy means until someone develops a really nice aftermarket system either with a smaller tail tidy or indeed a completely integrated light fitting you have to deal with that huge standard one

  • @RankoFrka

    They switched from ''HP'' to ''M''... It kinda reminds me of a BMW 1/2/3 series with M optik bumpers and other visual performance upgrades. HP was at least a synonym for performance.

      I believe will have a lot of s1rr owners run over due to no tail lights that's the only thing stopping me to not order one and the belly pan Ducati is smart they know how to hide all that and make look pretty.

    Thank you 😁 so excited for the future of these bikes. I have a s1000r, can't wait to see what BMW does with it over the next couple of years

    Looks good there’s one at my dealership here in Devon in a couple of weeks so I look forward to having a gander. I just finished putting my 18 away for the winter and I just adore the look of it. Hopefully the 19 has that wow factor for me then I may change up in 18 months time. Cool vids as always 👌🏼

    Fantastic bike. I was hoping they'd present the red spec but can't complain as more people will get this spec. I'll enjoy my bare 2016 cbr1000RR for now as I keep my eye on these S1000RR's

    I think I'd dig it more if the red stripes were hot pink. The combo reminds me of my 87 Gt Performer freestyle bike.

    Was that your R100 strategically placed in the background ... or just a strategically placed camera to ensure it was in the shot? :)

    Well, you are certainly in the BMW club and I love the fact that they are using their M designation, what a no-brainier which I would imagine was missed by everyone. It was certainly missed by me, a former M owner. Makes me want to buy one! Just watch out for any plastic components.

    I'm looking forward to seeing this in the flesh. Not a huge fan of the gold colours BMW have introduced to this and the GS, seems a back step to me. Fairly conservative on looks I feel but in no way disappointing, I would have liked them to have gone a bit more radical. I can't argue the tech updates, they sound awesome and I like they have an M version.

    Great video. I've seen a bunch of channels doing the same talk with Sepp where he goes over the bike, none of them were nearly as detailed as you guys. Lots more insight here and it's clear that Baron loves his BMW's. I definitely love the new design, will be looking to get this bike in a year or two as money permits.
