France has one of the oldest leagues in Europe. Amateur club competitions have been running since 1893. In 1932, professional teams played in Ligue 1 for the first time. The first French football champion in the professional era was Lille OSC, which was then called Olympique Lillois. In the 1932/33 league season 20 teams played, divided into two groups. There are currently 20 football clubs playing in #Ligue1. The most times the French championship was won by AS Saint-Étienne and Olympique de Marseille - 10 times each. They are followed by Paris Saint-Germain with 9 titles and AS Monaco with 8 Ligue 1 titles. Which team has made the most points in the history of Ligue 1 since 1932/33? In the french league until the 1993/94 season, the rules were in force - 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. From the 1994/95 and in 1988/89 season there was a change - 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
