- Welcome to the first part in my series of building a Tamiya Volvo FH12 Globetrotter 420 truck
This is the introductory episode but next time the build will begin. Once the first video of the build is published there will then be one video per week at the same time on the same day until the project is finished.

Ooh, I'm looking forward to this! I used to love building models. I had some Tamiya kits in the past, too. Watching the unboxing brings back a lot of memories. It's exciting unboxing a new kit, and seeing all those packaged parts. That truck looks like a lot of fun to build. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Awesome to see one of these rigs built. I build smaller 1/24 & 1/25 trucks most of the time. But i would love to be able to build one of the Tamiya trucks sometime.
Daggerwin you will love building this truck, Ive got the same one here plus 3 more that ive built since, Im sure it wont be the last rc truck you build there fantastic

Very cool. I bought the Super Clod Buster 4WD Monster Truck Kit for my first RC kit to build. I haven't had time to assemble it yet unfortunately but I'm excited to get it all put together and drive it. I look forward to seeing this build series once it gets started and I hope my build goes well.
If you havent glued the windows and clear plastic for the lights on yet DON'T use liquid cement because it destroys the plastic. You should instead use wood glue that dries clear or glue made for clear parts. And for painting the truck I highly recomend using an airbrush for the best effect(if you don't want visisble brush strokes on the truck). Good luck with the build and have fun.

I bought the man truck tgx 6x4 with the maersk container trailer about 5 years ago, loved building it! To bad they are so expensive! Would love to make a new self designed trailer
i had the same kit but it was a scania 6x4. be carefull. theyre kind of addictive :D

Just to say the motor doesn't power the steering and gear shift. These work off servos. And the motor is just for the drive of the truck. Forward and reverse.

Daggerwin you must read this! Don't use the motor that comes with the truck, use a carson truck puller motor or a rock crawler motor. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNDED!

The stock motor makes the truck way too fast.
The original motor is a tamiya stock motor that they put in with just about every model they make. As such for this particular model it will be too fast and it is pretty cheap low quality so very prone to over heating. The motors suggested would be a much better option (coming from a scale r/c builder and 1/10 r/c of road racer)

PS is this the same size as your other rc tractors otherwise you can maby build an low loader and drive some tractors on that.
This is 1/14 whereas his Siku tractors and low loader are 1/32 so they aren't comparable.
