    Hi Kumar. Thank you for the perfect explanation of this case.
    Today at work I had to calculate the amount of oil inside a horizontal-cylinder tank mathematically, but my fellow told me that there is no need for that he said there is a schedule including volumes that match every length of oil, and what I have to do is just measuring the length of oil.

      True, when you need these calculations regularly, table relating the parameters can be used.

    Mr. Kumar, thank you for this excellent explanation and for the steady and easy to follow pace. Why did not use Radians when solving the cos-1 for the Sector? How can you tell when to use Radians vs. Degrees? Several other variations of this exercise only work when I use Radians. When is one mode required over the other? I am struggling to understand this. Thank you!

    well its really complicated. But the other method would have been an integral. So thanks for showing us a geometry solution.

    • @Smarque06
      @Smarque06 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      peter h can you show how it’s done with integrals?

    • @peterhub1
      @peterhub1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Smarque06 I don't know for sure. But there is a method for finding the area between two curves. Take the integral of both curves and subtract one from the other to measure the area between. In this case it would be the area between a horizontal lines and the bottom half of a circle. That works until the circle is half full, then you have to take the area between a horizontal line and the bottom of the top half of a circle. The formula for a circle is y=+-sqrt(r^2-x^2).

    60 minus 48 is 12. Why is the height of the triangle 18? It's not even the full difference. Forgive me if I have missed something. Perhaps just work out the area of segment of a circle, then multiply it by its length?

    Sir,
    Volume= pi(r^2)h and and the total volume of this cylinder will be 22/7x30x30x150. The depth is 48 which is 4/5th of 60. So can’t the volume of water be 4/5*22/7x30x30x150 ?????

    Sir, a vartical cylindrical tank of 12 " hight 6" width. Find volume of water it holds or contains.

    • @John.-3-16
      @John.-3-16 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Height = 12"
      Width = 6"
      Radius =1/2 diameter
      Radius = 3"
      Area of the base = π r²
      = 3.1416 x 3"³
      = 28.2744 in²
      Area of the volume = area of the base x height
      = 12 in x 28.2744 in²
      = 339.2928 in³
