My 13 year old son was battling cancer for the 3rd time, and he and I would sing this every day at the top of our lungs in the car on the way to the transplant hospital for his daily treatments. He survived. Every time I hear this song, I think of those times. When DMB played it live a few years later while I was at their concert, I called my son on the phone so he could hear it live. Thanks guys.

My finace died the day before Thanksgiving in 2020. This was going to be our first dance. Today was the first day I got threw the whole song without breaking. I found him passed of a cardiac arrest. My father introduced me to Dave the moment I was born (2004) Constantly overplaying it and overplaying it until I finally understood what I was missing. I love this band with every fibre of my being and I have for YEARS. Carter got me back into my drumming, I owe so much to these guys and I can’t wait to see them again at my next concert!
I’m laying in bed at 1:00am, and for some bizarre reason, this song came into my head and I had to hear it. I haven’t heard it in at least 3 years. When I was younger, my mom would play this and we would sing to it. I remember going on long drives and my mom would play this song on repeat just to annoy my dad. I completely forgot about this song until now, and I’m so happy I remembered it. Tomorrow, I will make my mom play it, and we will sing!

I don't think that's the problem. The problem is that its either not getting enough attention as it did back then, or its a turnoff for people who listen to modern music.
This video is amazing! How cool for all of these musicians getting to join Dave and his band for this video shoot. There is not one face that doesn’t have a smile! This is Dave being first class! Those people will never forget for the rest of their lives!
I still remember when I was 8 years old and my dad sat me down in front of our old windows silver computer thing, and played this video for me. And the other time when he was painting my room and I came in and this song was playing on a little ihome speaker. This song kept my life together watching my parents divorce, it means the world to me.
"You and me together, we could do anything." This is so emotionally uplifting, seeing all the musicians of every age, from young to old, slowly fill all the seats and play in unison with Dave and the band. A symbol for what the world should be doing - joining together in harmony. This is extraordinary.

This song, makes the hairs on my arms stand up, it makes me feel totally free, lost and in love. I have always loved Dave Matthews, I remember listening "crash into me" & " american baby" with the sunroof and windows open driving down the mountain pass at Natures Valley.... dreaming imagining finding love and being happy and content as the music would make me feel. Then I found my "you and me" and then I found this song. Dave Matthews Band is frikken amazing I love your music and I love the way it makes me feel. The sheer joy on these faces... the famous musicians mixed in with little kids and teenagers... Dave's dancing feet...this video reminds me of why I am a teacher. On good days, it's just like this, and on bad ones it reminds me of what we can do together...ANYTHING.
My girlfriend and I listen to this song in the car when we were on our way to Acadia National park. It was bucket list to go there and I cried listening to it. I especially cried when we saw DMB in Gilford, NH and this song was played we sang at the top of our lungs and we held each other through the whole song. This is such a beautiful piece of music and I cry every time I hear this.
