    Amazing video. The forums would have this be very complicated, and it's wicked easy. Didn't even need the wood.
    For everyone's reference,, the first three bolts are a 6mm hex, the next is a 10mm hex, and the castle nut is a 27mm.

    What a great video on removing the back tire. You really did a great job showing every action and outcome. The angles and views of the camera showed all appropriate angles. Very helpful. Thanks

    That was Fabulous. Wow you made that look so easy. I would have been terrified. But now I feel confident I can actually do this myself. Thanks

    Thanks for that! I just bought a 2011 Concours and I need a new tire. I'm glad I know how to remove it now.

    Good video and straight forward... I don't take the the caliper off the bracket - just remove the brake bracket bolt off and support the whole caliper and bracket together. It goes on pretty easy. If you run a 55 profile tire (instead of the stock 50 profile)... you may find it easier to remove the wheel/tire by putting the bike up on the center stand on top of a 1/2 inch board or plywood... just gives you more clearance to manage it around the rear fender. On install, don't forget Moly 60 grease on the splines and high temp grease on the bearing surfaces. Axle nut is torqued to 94 FT Lbs. I use the left hex nut for this because I am pushing downward on the torque handle instead of up for the right nut... ok to go with the right side nut to tighten - just be sure you don't pull it off the center stand. 94 ft lbs is a lot of torque.

    Best video available for this job, the rest suck. Thanks for filming it so we can see what you're doing. Any specific advice when putting it back on? Torque numbers, grease, anything? Thanks again!!

    Cruise Control:
    I recently got a steal on my beautiful 2008 Concours that I adore. It's such a great ride and this one is in particularly good shape. I started on a Ninja 650r and put Givi cases on for touring but outgrew that when my fiance started going along and needed something more comfortable. Dang it! More horse power!🤦🏻‍♂oh well, I'll take a take $ hit for the team and upgrade to a more stable, more powerful, more comfortable steed! The Concours is an amazing motorcycle.
    I just removed and reinstalled both front and rear wheels with new tires and changed all my break pads and new oil in the shaft drive. I have a book on the way but your videos have made these things easy! Keep up the informative and well produced material! Including the list of Key Points (tools & materials). Thanks for what you do.

      Wait, are you me? I started on an 09 ninja 650, but I hate having to wear a backpack and also oiling the chain. So I got my 08 Connie, also for a hell of a deal.

    What's the reason for compressing the front brakes?

    • @albarry5444
      @albarry5444 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Helps the bike stay on centerstand perhaps. Since you might by mistake push the bike to the front with the wiggling.

    When you zip tied the hand brake tight wouldn't that prevent the caliper from sliding off??

    • @cruisecontrol808

      Yes...for the front wheel...this video is to remove the rear wheel

  • @skygodsam1

    Why would you have the brake on? You don't want the pads to compress after you take them off the disc?

      @Kamiana6 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent question! In short, the service manual includes that step when removing the Rear Wheel. Maybe to stop the bike from rolling? I obviously wouldn't recommend it when removing the Front Wheel

    • @donaldclos2196
      @donaldclos2196 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm pretty sure that's the front brake, to keep the bike from rolling.
