Hey congrats on the win, just a thought, a scoreline would make this video much more engaging!
Huge congrats Karue, always beautiful to see you with your brazilian flag, keep going i'm sure you'll reach the highest level. so much love from Italy hope to see you here one time
just out of curiosity, what is the process from winning a futures to qualifying for a major.
@@TripAces Could be long, going through a couple tiers, or short, WC? Not likely but there's hope. I think he has to make it to ATP to possibly play in an Open.
Correction: ITF and ATP are two separate but equal entities with some intermingling at the upper levels?
Karue is likely testing himself at the moment. At some point in the future, we'd probably see him in the ATP tournaments.
Basically, he's rebuilding his portfolio to show the interviewer, the body that determines whether or not he plays in an ATP1000 or Open, that he can play at that level.
Plenty of work.
Edit: clarification and additional information.
@@mbr1254 It's a great story and I hope Karue goes the whole way...
Can't believe you won an ITF at my alma mater!!! I literally graduated this past May in 2023 so I'm rlly sad I just missed out on seeing you in Ithaca... I went to them every year since reis tennis center was like 2mins away from my dorm , of course the year you play I've already graduated 😭
Cornell all those hills and snow
I didnt know he was here! I would have went. 😭
Cmon. You should have made it out there
dude me too i’m so unbelievably upset
Awesome Karue. Big fan here. A couple things I noticed. Your level is steadily increasing on UTR. You beat Connor, who is a UTR 14.12, and your last 30 matches are 26/4, which is pretty amazing. If we look at the fitness aspect, I think it's fair to assess that your physicality is allowing you to either get to some balls you might not have before, or get to other shots that where you might have been late and had less options, now you are getting to them in time to hit back with quality. This makes such a huge difference. Because of that, I think there's every chance that the level you played at to beat Connor, isn't a one-off, but probably more of a base level, that you can actually springboard off. No pressure then! 😁
Seriously though, I'm loving what I'm seeing.
Another thing, and this may be me just picking at things, but I thought early in the match I was starting to read your serves from the far end. When you toss the ball out to your right, you're hitting the wide serve to the deuce court. Please re-watch this to see for yourself, and then address. Better players will pick this up and be ready to return with interest.
Not that this matters, but looking at the UTR's of ATP players, if I assess your UTR to be roughly 14.5 at the moment, then that shows a few interesting things:
#401 13.84 Jay Clarke
#350 13.89 Kaichi Uchida
#300 14.15 Michael Vrbenský
#250 14.06 Antoine Bellier
#200 14.18 Santiago Rodríguez Taverna
#150 14.44 Hugo Grenier
#102 14.56 Federico Coria
Your own highest ranking was #371, and I think your UTR was 15.x. What all of this tells me, is that you're playing some of the best tennis of your life, and you have the serious possibility to rank higher than your previous ATP ranking. This might be where it needs a bit of luck with draws, etc.
What's interesting, is that the current #371 (Christian Langmo), has a UTR of 13.70, which you're already exceeding, given that on paper today you're listed as a 13.84. Christian has 131 ATP points. If you just keep doing what you're doing, you'll collect the points, and get up there.
Aside from that technical bumpf, I'm really loving what I'm seeing, and wish you all the best. Climb that ranking! I genuinely see you as a top 100 player, and would love to see it happen.
That’s some great analysis, im sure he appreciates it
Thanks coach.
12:12 is a microcosm of the whole match. Karue handles his big serve, pressures his opponent's backhand, and forces an error through depth and precision. Well done, sir.
thank you!
Congrats Karue! I'm thoroughly enjoying following your tennis journey! Appreciate how you're always keeping it real and showing us the behind the scenes. Keep up the great work man!
Well done Karue. Been following you for a long time, great to see you enthused and dedicated as you attempt this next chapter. Hope you keep you stress levels in check with your excellent and positive attitude. No burn out, you've already done that experience. Positive vibes to you !! Cheers.
You are a joy to watch. Keep it up Karue and I hope you will stay fit and healthy and have a great season.
Great job Karue. I enjoy watching your rise up the rankings. I also enjoy the way you play and build points. Your timing and ability to take balls with pace so close to the baseline is incredible. Great start to 2024!
Awesome win Karue! You are on absolute fire and your tennis looks so efficient and your ball striking is so clean so kudos to you.
Goodluck for your next event👊
Karue eu já te assisto há alguns anos e só fui descobrir hoje que vc é brasileiro, adorei te ter como representante. Parabéns pelo título, essa conquista é pra poucos🤝
Congratulations Karue!🌟I see you playing with discipline, margin, patience and TRUST and it sets a clear example for me. You play THE beautiful game! Keep rockin’ the journey👊🏼
Giant congrats K! Can't say I'm surprised and that's not to take anything away from how challenging futures are today with all the talent that's in there, including you.
Rooting for you ma man.
Cheers!
M
Love the gong sound whenever the ball hits the wall camera side.... how zen 😂
hahah right? It’s kinda hilarious
Wow! Congrats Karue! Agreed, you're walking the talk. You do what you say in your own videos. Not easy for most in TH-cam land. And that Kristen dude has a beast of a serve!
Congrats!! That looked so mature. Great spot serving, great 1-2 combos, great balance while performing the strokes (great fitness) and therefore not many unforced errors.
Solid all around
Wow well done and congratulations Karue. Loving the content, best of luck for the year!
Thank you so much!
dude, congrats mad respect. your overall game has really come up a notch or two. amazing return of service from you and the backhand has gotten even better. hard, grinding work you've put into your forehand is really starting to pay dividends.
yeah returns have improved since switching rackets. Feeling very clear with my game
Congratulations, Karue! I'm learning a lot from your videos. Greetings from Brazil, BH!
Impressive, Karue. Hope to see more of your matches.
One thing strikes me is the amount of struggle that each player is going through on the returns. I guess that is on every level.
Perhaps you can put in a video on. returning one of these days.
Thanks in advance.
Regards from Singapore
Congrats Karue! You made that return look so easy! Awesome playing and hope for the best to the rest of the season!
It’s all in your mind and your mind is becoming more still…and your self 2 knows what to do. Bravo. Congratulations Karue! Keep growing!
Way to go man, we are all rooting for you to do well. Keep it going!!!
Congratulations!!! Great Job!!! Keep up the good work! Good luck in Florida.
I think I'm most impressed with your fitness. Seems like a huge improvement very quickly, no doubt a ton of work. Nice stuff Karue!
I like the sound effect when the ball hit some metal back in the court. Very echoing. Congrats Karue. Vamo que vamo!!
It's great to see you smiling out there and having fun. Congratulations on the amazing result
Gotta have fun!
Well deserved, loved your "trust the process and keep working hard" attitude after that painful L at the end of the year, so not surprised you bounced back like that. Would love to see you live on day, come to Europe!
likely will be there in February
Cara tô voltando a jogar tênis e assistia suas dicas/jogos sempre. Fui descobrir hoje que você é Brasileiro haha, muito daora acompanhar seu retorno, boa sorte que tu tá jogando muito!
Man this video made me so happy! I’m rooting for you Karue! One day I want to see you play against a top 10.
Played awesome mate. Serve and return on fire 🔥. Congratulations 👏
In addition, your return and groundies where looking solid and strong.. Bravo
Congratulations!!! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. You looked so at ease on the court, regardless of score. Here's to hoping this is the beginning to all the success you can imagine! What a ridiculous service return at 2:45! Holy moly!
the fluidity and variety of your split step on the return is looking amazing, Djokovic-like some might say (hope that's not a bad word around here)
Bruh that was crazy, props! Tristan was serving bombs, but you kept the mindset, what a great start. Porra mlk, feliz pacas!
Congrats on the win! Awesome returns.
Glad you mentioned it at the end, because I was wondering what facing his serve was like. It looked Kyrgios-esque. Looked like an absolute bomb.
Keep it up!
It was a bomb! But yes returns are feeling good
Hey Karue, just wanna say you are a huge huge inspiration to not only normies like me but the college players who wanna give a shot at going pro again. You vid premieres on my birthday and I could not ask for a better gift. Congratulations 🎉
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy birthday bro
Feliz navidad!
Congrats man, solid, solid work! You’re on fire!! Parabéns 👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
amazing man! so consistent. solid state of play with some beautiful returns of serve. thank you for the excellent content.
Much appreciated!
Awesome win and an awesome week my man! I have enjoyed watching this journey and following your progress. Would you say the racquet switch has helped your game? Certainly seems like a good switch. Keep up the good work!
Nice addition to the start of the service motion ala Fed. Accuracy definitely improved on first. Great variety, kept Tristan guessing quite a bit.
Congratz! Well deserved!!! So proud!
🎉
Congrats! That is inspirational!
Congrats Karue! Keep on keeping on 🤙
I was courtside watching your match at the ITF at Saddlebrook in Florida. I came to watch you play.
You were not accustomed to humidity and speed of the court. You were hitting the net a lot and your groundstrokes were landing short. The kid you were playing kept a calm demeanor and being an academy player there, he was used to the conditions. Keep grinding bro. You got a lot of support out there.
Yep. Didn’t have enough time to adjust to the conditions. All good, I’ll take that problem hahaha thanks for coming out
That guy was blasting them like Hurkacz. Your mental toughness to just take a breath and wait for balls you could attack was huge. BTW you had a ton of aces as well. Are you going to post your match schedule?
well done karue! playing my first tournament in almost a year this weekend. wish me luck
Nice work! Congrats Karue!
congrats karue i really feel like youll have a great season ahead of you! my question: what are some tips to aggressively deal with ppl who hit with both pace and topspin? i play quite flat and i always feel neutralized by these balls like i can’t generate or redirect power back while hitting them
First, if they play with a lot of spin but not a lot of pace,, chill, you don’t need to hit super hard. The best thing for you to do is to take time away from them by hitting the ball on the rise. If you can make contact with the ball while it is on the first half of its ark (meaning going up), drive it through the court. But don’t try to hit too hard. If your feet aren’t there, take your medicine, chill until you have another opportunity. Patience is key
Good shit! Would love to see score tracking in future videos
great set against a great server. Your crosscourt backhand is filthy especially with good fitness allowing you to get to it earlier
Congratulations, Karue!
For the next videos, can you please add the score on the top/bottom of the video so we can easier follow? Thanks
awesome job man!!! hard work in the gym first, will try and do the same. Keep it going
Congrats Karue! I actually enjoy your matches more than watching most of the Aussie Open and other ATP Tour matches. Keep trucking and would love to see you qualify later this year at a big event. Look out Djokovic!
that’s the goal. Make it into slam qualies. Long road ahead but I am enjoying it
Congratulations! You did great handling that serve!
Thank you
Congrats. Two matches you came back after losing first set. Must be the LMNT!!! Amazing... inspiring to follow your journey. thx for sharing!
hahah the LMNT definitely helps. I take multiple a match. Appreciate the support
Super high level bro great win!!!
Boa!! Great to see you getting success. Enjoy!
Congratulations Karue! Great win 🏆
👏🏼🔥 BIG CONGRATS!!
I'm really happy for you man, congrats for the results you're getting.
Did you apply for a Rio Open wildcard? I don't know your demographics but maybe it could be interesting for you and the tournament organization.
11:53 Look at that Sportsmanship during an intense match like that, hats off to you sir :)
Just watching first game so far, great returning against a big server! 💪
Now that was impressive... pin point control. You're rarely out of position.....
Let's Go !!!
Congratulations man!
Hell yes, parabéns cara! I saw on google sports widget but I was waiting for this video to see the details
Hope you like it!
Thanks for sharing and congratulations. The Gong sound when the ball hit the walls added a nice Kung-fu movie aura to the match.
lol it totally did!!
Karue, could you make a short video sometime on your thoughts on your posture/stance when you play? I always notice you look super balanced and also a bit more upright than some players who tend to look more crouched.
I was there, supporting. Was great to meet you there Karue! Unbelievable tennis this week!
Thank you for coming out!
Awesome as always bro....bora pra cima campeao enjoy brah tmj brazil tiu respeita
That's huge! congrats!
Congrats Karue, well done! I would love to see a collaboration with the frenchman Jules Marie, another comeback player youtube sensation like yourself! He achieved the goal to play AO 2024 qualies. You can do it too!!
Great start to the year, man, well done!!
Thanks a ton!
Such a massive improvement in your first serve %, my respect and admiration.
thank you!
Fantastic play Karue. Congrats!
Great comeback You still have good couple of years od competing ahead. Hope to see You in Atp Tournaments main draw one day
appreciate it! Hopefully I can pull a Mannarino
Beautiful backhand and nice placement of serves.
THE BOY!!!! Congrats brother! Keep up the grind, there's more titles to collect this year!
For sure more titles coming!
Congrats Karue! Keep it going!
Thank you!
Haha Karue went full Bulbasaur with his clothes matching the paintjob of the Percept :D congrats on the title!
I like how the oriented the court in front of the Liberty Bell.
I was wondering about this too..hilarious.
it was!
Congrats!! Do you have some content from your pre season? Would be very interested in how to train as a tennis player off the court . Greets from Germany
yep I do. Will be posting about it in the next few weeks
Keep on rolling!
Awesome! Congrats!
Thank you! Cheers!
congrats dani super
Congrats, man!
great!!! congrats what a great milestone!!!
Congratulations Karue!👏👏
That match really showed the importance of a higher 1st serve percentage and quality return of serves! Nice win my man!
Serve and return, man. Serve and return wins
Karue you played so relax here like there is no pressure. We call this the ultra instinct moment.
Something you can improve on in terms of videos is maybe adding the score. Great win! 💪
At least from what I saw during the 1st Set, your opponent having this injury was likely looking to overcompensate & hit bigger serves to force free points. Moreso on return of serve as well. Though, once he saw you breaking his Serve while maintaining that consistent high level burst. He decided it wasn't worth going to 3 Sets, aggrevate his foot injury & not continue in Pro Tourneys for a time. Had he won the 1st Set & his overcompensation paid off, the gas pedal might have been pressed a bit harder to shut down Set 2 very quickly. So, amazing job in being able to shut down his aggressive (albeit I'm going to assume more than normal) Tennis Game!!
Overall great play on your part! Great win & I want to see more of this broski. Other comments are stating it already, but this is some solid level tennis & I believe like them, you'll get up there & rack up the ATP Points.
Really good court angle, also your opponet had such a fun playing style
Yeah it was a great way to film the match
Karue was never a bad mover, but man the movement is at another level in this match. Enables god like defence and counterpunching. Masterclass!
So glad we convinced you to go pro going up the rankings quickly too hopefully top 200 by end of year
Let’s hope so. One match, one tournament at a time
Hey Karue, big congratulations! I watched your second round match and the final and wanted to meet you but I had to go while you were still talking to your finals opponent. Would have loved to talk for a bit. Maybe next time! 👋
Hi! Thanks for coming out. Next time we’ll chat
Bro has got an absolute CANNON! Good playing Karue!
Congrats!!
Hard work paying off! Keep climbing↗
Climb!!
Congratulations on your success! You really neutralized your opponent's major weapons (serve & forehand) very well. I have to ask: Did you model your game after Andre Agassi as a younger player? The way you take the ball super early and how clean and flat you hit reminds me a lot of AA.
Congrats! Your returns are actually insane
returns improved a lot since switching rackets. Loving it
@MyTennisHQ Maybe I should switch from the vcore 95 to the percept. Unfortunatel, it's not going to turn me from a 4.0 to a pro overnight 😅
