wow what an emotional rollercoaster - playing the nothing ball in the end was maybe key :) congratulations for your win - thanks for sharing such high level tennis - much success for that year!
Just to add some context. Cannon Kingsley was a 3x All American at Ohio State and finished his senior year ranked #12 in the country. As a junior, he was the number 2 recruit in the country and played in 3 of the 4 junior grand slams. Karue played a great match. It also shows just how tough it is out on the tour, even at the 25K level.
Karue got a little Bautista Agut and Mannarino to him! Handles pace so well, controls the court with depth and precision it is amazing. You can see it really puts pressure on the opponent, injecting pace when he needs it. Hopefully he can keep this level up and we see him in a 250 soon!
If I was going to add two parts to Karue's game. 1. knifing backhand slice that lead to 2. more approach & volley attempts Like many Karue's 1 handed is a defensive shot only... from what i can see. Turning that into a weapon might be an interesting development
Congrats Karue for pulling this match out! Me and my friend were actually at this match and chatted with you a little after about it. Its good you were able to get the whole footage despite the ref complaining about the video lol but what a battle! You definitely applied the pressure well in that last game (and we"ll take the let). Amazing you're 667 now keep it up! Good luck with the rest of the season!
It's amazing to me how you are able to dominate the baseline hitting a medium pace, rally speed ball. You can clearly crush it when you need to, but it's such a different approach than so many other guys on the tour, who are trying to put maximum pace/spin on every ball. Inspiring stuff. Huge win.
Nice work. Interesting contrast in styles. You can see the effort Kingsley puts into everything, while you look cool calm, collected, and efficient especially with your movement. Love your compact strokes.... Backhand return was so good under pressure. Looks like you just played one loose game in the first set. And I liked the serve and volley play a few times....Maybe mix in the slice more at times...? Oh and love this viewing angle, such a treat to watch!!! Good luck!!!!
You're game is so inspirational to watch, and educational. Even when your opponent comes out swinging you just stay calm, weather the storm, make your serves, keep the ball in play. And lo and behold you outlast them. Congrats on the win!
what a match! if i can be honest, i've never ever seen players like karue and giron that are playing this style of tennis - driving the ball forward that much with very little topspin. it's deathly but with very little margin of mistakes. respect
there is actually a lot of players who play like this. Our shots have enough topspin to keep them safely on court. We just don’t like to play very high heavy balls. Personally, I can’t even do that as my hands aren’t fast enough to do it over and over. This feels very safe for me. Modern tennis (aside from clay) is played through the court, if you lift the ball poorly, guys will smack it down
Sub’d. Finally an actual elite level player posting matches and sets and great content unlike so many bizarre 3.5-4.5 players who record themselves playing as if anyone would want to watch people hacking for an hour. This guy absolutely balls.
There are a few other higher level players, but other than one, they still don't play competitively anymore. Shockingly (sarcasm) the two older players who play competitively have the best content.
Congrats on a hard fought victory. Kingsley had a Cannon of a serve, but once you got into a rally you clearly had the cleaner ground strokes. You generate a lot of power with such a short compact swing and really disguise where you’re hitting it to. Can’t believe how emotionally invested I was in your match. Been a tennis fan since the early 80’s and haven’t gotten into a match like this since Sampras played. Good luck in your journey!!
As someone who is 3 months away until the big 3.0. super pumped for you that was an amazing match! Handshake by him was very rude he definitely was pissed haha
Karue my guy! Thank you for posting - what an outstanding match this was. Y'all were both balling out - dare I say the most captivating and entertaining match you've posted since you've gone pro (again). The way you stayed calm through the pressure points really says a lot about your mental strength - forehand looked really good as well. Keep on grinding!
I love the pursuit for quality ball striking on every shot, locked in focus and maturity match long. Congratulations and I can't wait till you make top 100 and beyond!
That was a massive Game and Win. Even somettimes the Serve wasnt perfect you stick to your Gameplan and in the right Moment you succeed. Mentally a Rock.
The two things I don't think I appreciated about your game as much until seeing this is your incredibly solid serve returns and how calm you remain when hitting on the run. Great stuff Karue!
This could've went either way. Kingsley's serve is phenomenonal, yet you were able to neutralize some of his bombs with your compact backhand returns. Amazing job and keep up with the great content!
Karue has to love this surface. IHe gives you no time. Takes most balls on the rise and his ball skids on these fast indoor courts. I hated playing people with his style of game. On a side note, I have started incorporating hitting on the rise and no one likes it. Need to be more consistent with it. Good stuff Karue!
Make it happen captn!!!! Btw…. My kiddo works out with the team at Saddlebrooke. He was excited you played a tourney down there but also sad he wasn’t there at the same time. Keep grinding! Look forward to seeing you in the top 200 by end of year!
Wow! Awesome! Thanks so much for sharing. Great match - really fun to watch. I was cheering for you to hit to his forehand every shot from mid-first set. :) Now, seriously, tell us Karue - how can we older guys compete with the youngsters on hard courts without sliding? :)
Hey Karue, congratulations on the win. After watching the entire match, the first thought that came to mind was how well you stayed composed throughout the match compared to a match you posted about a month and half ago. Except for the frustrated racket throw after losing the first (very understandable due to how those 2 points cost you the entire set). As a tennis enthusiast I loved seeing you play super high percentage tennis and only going for your shots when they presented themselves. Overall it was a very clean game and your strokes seem so effortless. Also, this Kingsley guy has a bomb of a serve but your overall return of serve game was pretty good and kept putting pressure on him to continue hitting big percentage of his first serves. Lastly, loved seeing you approach the net frequently to cut those angles and finish off the points. Keep up the hard work and thanks for all the tennis videos you've been uploading for such a long time.
wow what a match, the first few games were sublime. Loved the variety, the way you controlled the points. Got a little tight but came back and stayed strong, well done man!
Man Karue your movement is getting so much better. Sliding into shots and saying balanced. Its awesome to see - I really think the movement is going to be your key to your results. You already naturally dictate and play offense well; beefing up your ability to play defense, extend rallys, and turn defense into offense is gonna be so crucial imo. That and the flexibility/mobility training! I know you know that already but its SO important especially past 30 for recovery and injury prevention. You obviously already have the strokes, timing, strategy, and mind already to get to ATP tournaments and out of the futures/challengers. Keep going man
Unbelievable matche, Karue. That 4-4 game in the 3rd was clutch, especially the way he was serving in the third. You had to have that one and pulled through. So good!!
Great match! The point at 6:26 was nuts. So well crafted and great adaptation. Definitely shows the level player you are, especially against 408! Really enjoyed it. Hopefully soon we'll be watching you on Tennis TV!
beautiful tennis match, especially that last serve break for win, karue hit just enough winners and less errors to win again. love the quality and the shot angle to see the spin, pace and placement decisions
Great playing.I love the simplicity of your strokes. No big loop on the FH instead a small compact stroke with not too much wrist. BH is nearly straight back with a small loop. Perfect strokes for amateurs to model as they are super clean and simple. You hit thru the ball with enough spin for control. Great playing.
Congrats Karue!!! He was an extremely difficult opponent with huge serve, great movement, huge strokes. I admired your calmness in the court. You handled yourself perfectly and if I am not wrong, fell free to correct me, you didn't go for the break on every service game. You didn't push yourself on his service points. It seemed that you were focused on your serve which was working perfectly, great placement by the way. Great tactic in my opinion. You did it, it worked perfectly and you saved important energy when you needed it. To tell you the truth , I new you were a very good player, but this time you amazed me with your mental game. You're very strong in the mind. And great physical condition by the way. I am a lot older than you, 47, I still play and coach tennis but I look up to you. Greetings from Greece.
1. goddamn, kingsley has a mean serve 2. goddamn you have a baller second serve 3. that you were so relaxed with yourself after points you lost/had unforced errors on is really something else 4. 17:31 - OH SHIT, THERE'S NOTHING BEHIND THE CURTAIN 5. 18:41 - LMAO 6. 31:45 - LMAO 7. 32:41 now THAT'S a shot to close out a match with. wow.
hey karue, i know you are posting about your matches right now, but it would be really cool if you did a video at some point about your fitness routine and how you train. great match btw!
You guys are awesome, thanks for posting! I know I have several students that love to watch these and we talk about them in lessons. I understand why you cut out the between points time in the video, but maybe you could put together a video of some of the in between points footage to show us how you're trying to manage yourself there. It would be so amazing to hear some of your thoughts right after the point and how you prepare for the next points. Could also apply to a changeover here and there too. We're really lucky to have someone willing to share this much and I can see it making differences in the future of the game already!!!!!
@Karue - What a fantastic match! Just a couple of crucial points separating you two! Two top things I admire in your game play is how balanced you are when you strike the ball and how relaxed you look when hitting the forehands. Things I will definitely try in my own game.
Wow, great to watch. 4/4 in first set was tight. 2nd set was solid and confident. 3rd set last 2 games were excellent. Great passing shots and handled his serve well. You were the better player and deserved the win... his serve was something.
Love the movement you make before you serve - the low forehand action before you toss the ball up. Looks awesome and very distinctive. Great match, well done 👍
Thanx for sharing awesome match. Both deserved it, and sweating just from watching the final games. High level serving, specially opponent's first, and your second making some damage and saving tough situations
closed it out w/ my absolute fav shot of yours almost back to back. that quick, short, reflex reaction backhand return you do is so elite. i know dudes have to be thinking it's a service winner every time until it comes back right to their feet lol.
Vamooooooooos! It is beautiful to see how wise you're playing. It just goes to show how much mental plays a huge and understimated role in tennis. Boa sorte an jornada!

Thanks for posting the full match nice for me to go back and watch as well! Well played and good luck this year
Cannon! Great battle, dude. MTHQ fam, go give this man a follow 💪🏻💪🏻 here is his Instagram: instagram.com/cannonkingsley?igsh=dmg1MmtzcXptM2dn
You played well. Bad luck on the dribbler at 30-30 4-5. Your serve is great. Looks very fluid. Good luck this year.
Quality match. Edge of my seat the last two games.
Great quality match! Your serve is really a cannon. Jokes aside good luck for the season
You played like a champ my dude. You are doing an amazing job and may GOD bless you and keep you safe always my friend.
Just to add some context. Cannon Kingsley was a 3x All American at Ohio State and finished his senior year ranked #12 in the country. I agree with this comment. Knows how to absorb pace like a master
Yeah, he’s got a high tennis iq. He’s the anti Ben Shelton
If I was going to add two parts to Karue's game.
1. knifing backhand slice that lead to
2. more approach & volley attempts
Like many Karue's 1 handed is a defensive shot only... from what i can see.
Turning that into a weapon might be an interesting development
@@justusbeweel1109 He’s got 10 years of experience on him to be fair…
Shelton is trending up up tho in that department
100% Walmart Agassi
imagine having Cannon as your first name in elementary school. You got little jimmy and bobby as classmates then there's CANNON
Yooo it's him!
Lmaooo “hey my name is GUN”
His bothers name is Tank! Hahe That was funny comment you made Winston.😂
AHAHAHAHAHA top comment
He better have a good first serve then!
As a fellow 30 year old+ person I’m rooting for you!
appreciate it
Same! 40+!😂

playing the long game always
Dude you were putting points together so well, you had the opponents coach clapping for you. Keep it up superstar and stay disciplined!!
I love how casual Karue's outfit is, looks like hes going out to do some errands like grocery shopping or something.
what a match! if i can be honest, i've never ever seen players like karue and giron that are playing this style of tennis - driving the ball forward that much with very little topspin. it's deathly but with very little margin of mistakes. respect

Well done Karue. Your movement looks so fluid. Fitness work paying off.
Talk us through that match winning passing shot - needle, threaded....
What a great match. Inspiring to see your calm, collected and economical ball striking. Good angel and view. thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it

I think that little “kick” before you start your serve motion really helps the momentum overall
hahah wasn’t even thinking about that. But yes helped with the flow
First few times I watched with the little kick and then the initial low movement of the racket I thought @tennishq was going underarm!! 😂
Jesus! Now that is tennis. I watched it 3 times now and so impressed in your movement and ball striking. Karue, I am rooting for you.
As someone who is 3 months away until the big 3.0. super pumped for you that was an amazing match! Handshake by him was very rude he definitely was pissed haha

Really enjoy watching your return game, he has a big serve and was surprised to see some of them coming back. Well deserved.
The two things I don't think I appreciated about your game as much until seeing this is your incredibly solid serve returns and how calm you remain when hitting on the run. Great stuff Karue!

Yep it could have. 4x4 and 4x5 in the third could have gone either way
Your racket control on his big bomb serves was insane!! Well done man!!!!!
Great game!! Would love to hear your commentary over these games and thoughts after the match. Love the videos. Congrats on the win!! 💪🏽🙌🏽
Aside from your ability, your personality and the way you carry yourself is top class. Good luck to you.

Kingsley’s serve was great, congratulations on your win!
great stuff man....love those last few high pressure shots you made.
Your tennis is so beautiful! What a clean technique!
thank you
Wow! so clean, Karue! I really enjoyed watching this
What a battlefield!
It had everything including a cannon and a carousel. Great match overall and congratulations on the W!
Wow! How you kept calm on your last service game was outstanding.. great match! Flawless decision making🎉
hahah yeah I was mentally locked in there
wow what a match, the first few games were sublime. Loved the variety, the way you controlled the points. Got a little tight but came back and stayed strong, well done man!
What a great final set 💪🏽💪🏽 clutch returns on the last game
Chiming in with the others. You're an inspiration to this 50 year old tennis addict.
Man Karue your movement is getting so much better. Sliding into shots and saying balanced. Its awesome to see - I really think the movement is going to be your key to your results. Such an amazing match. Your return of serve at the end of set 3 was impressive. Keep posting vids!
This channel should be called "My Tennis IQ." Karue is so poised, it almost feels like he is playing chess. Beautiful!
Learning so much just watching you construct points. Absolute masterclass. 😮
UNBELIEVABLE Karue!! Great job being patient and staying in the match. That guy has a monster serve. Congratulations!!! Vamoooooooooos!!!!!
Amazing match and incredible performance. You managed to deal with the pressure pretty good! Keep going Karue, wanna watch more!🔥🔥
Great match! The point at 6:26 was nuts. So well crafted and great adaptation. Definitely shows the level player you are, especially against 408! Really enjoyed it. Hopefully soon we'll be watching you on Tennis TV!
Lookin good Karue! It's easy to see the progress you've made since coming back. Can't wait to see you beat Marcos on tour now
beautiful tennis match, especially that last serve break for win, karue hit just enough winners and less errors to win again. love the quality and the shot angle to see the spin, pace and placement decisions
Great win Karue. Could you maybe do a vid on your daily strength training routines?
Great playing.I love the simplicity of your strokes. No big loop on the FH instead a small compact stroke with not too much wrist. BH is nearly straight back with a small loop. Perfect strokes for amateurs to model as they are super clean and simple. You hit thru the ball with enough spin for control. Great playing.
Love the patience and shot selection and sticking to the plan even when things got tight, inspiring play, and congrats!!
I love your compact strokes. Very efficient.
Great job Karue! Effortless looking playing style and minimal wasted movement out there. Just a great match.
real nailbiter! I really felt the pressure at the 4-4 mark on the last set. congrats on this huge win!
You look very efficient with your movement. That leg thing you do when serving is a great distraction. Love it. Rooting for you...
Congrats Karue!!! He was an extremely difficult opponent with huge serve, great movement, huge strokes. I admired your calmness in the court. Great match! What a battle. Thank you both for sharing this and incredible play.
1. goddamn, kingsley has a mean serve
2. goddamn you have a baller second serve
3. that you were so relaxed with yourself after points you lost/had unforced errors on is really something else
4. 17:31 - OH SHIT, THERE'S NOTHING BEHIND THE CURTAIN
5. 18:41 - LMAO
6. 31:45 - LMAO
7. 32:41 now THAT'S a shot to close out a match with. wow.
hahaha happy you were entertained. Mistakes are part of the game, gotta stay in the moment
wow, well done mate! you played very well especially tactically. Age and experience sometimes can actually really help. Keep up the great work!
hey karue, i know you are posting about your matches right now, but it would be really cool if you did a video at some point about your fitness routine and how you train. great match btw!
It’s coming this month
You guys are awesome, thanks for posting! I know I have several students that love to watch these and we talk about them in lessons. So good to watch. I think the thing I notice most is how stable your base and core are when you generate your power. It all looks just so tidy.
Karue, congratulations on the win! That was very entertaining, thanks!
You played very very well the 2nd and 3rd set. Definitely the best opponent I’ve seen you beat on this channel. Vamos!
Oh my days! that Karoo style. Smooth and silky. Accuracy over power. Some devastating shots - and that return of serve! Well done :-) Great tennis.
Thank you very much!
Karue--ive been watching and playing tennis since the late eighties--your backhand is smooth like butter--reminiscent of the big cat, Miloslav Mecir!
Wow, there’s a throw back! And yeah, that’s spot on. Very similar to Mecir, at least in this match.
@Karue - What a fantastic match! Just a couple of crucial points separating you two! Two top things I admire in your game play is how balanced you are when you strike the ball and how relaxed you look when hitting the forehands. Things I will definitely try in my own game.
What a grind! That was a joy to watch! Keep it up Karue!!!
Wow, great to watch. 4/4 in first set was tight. 2nd set was solid and confident. 3rd set last 2 games were excellent. Great passing shots and handled his serve well. You were the better player and deserved the win... his serve was something.
Look at that serve down the middle form. It's so F'N smooth. No exaggerated nonsense. SO GOOD.
Amazing movement Karue! You really started dialing in the return. Good luck in your upcoming matches!!
Your court awareness is fantastic. So well played.
Some of your returns of his massive serve were just so sweet, next level stuff!
Dude the way you paced yourself was amazing. Cool calm and collected
Karue is so consistent! Amazing play by both players! Congrats Karue on this amazing win!
Love the movement you make before you serve - the low forehand action before you toss the ball up. Looks awesome and very distinctive. Great match, well done 👍
Thank you for sharing this, beside the amazing game, there’s lot of stuff to learn such as strategies on serves and so on!
Really impressed by the way you hung on in with this guy, super focused job!
Thanks!
Karue’s shot selection is unreal. And energy management, especially near the end. Just such smart tennis.
Thanx for sharing awesome match. Both deserved it, and sweating just from watching the final games. High level serving, specially opponent's first, and your second making some damage and saving tough situations
Kingsley looks like a nightmare to play against. He's fast, has a big serve, and lots of power on his shots. It looks so difficult to play against
closed it out w/ my absolute fav shot of yours almost back to back. that quick, short, reflex reaction backhand return you do is so elite. i know dudes have to be thinking it's a service winner every time until it comes back right to their feet lol.
Impressive performance Karue ! Fast court. Good serving and above all amazing returning ! Regards from Singapore
Great match! Karue, your backhand was so good in this match. Especially down the line. High level stuff from both players.
Wow truly amazing to see this kind of content and congrats Karue!
Great match and I like how you changed the pattern up the line in the 2nd and 3rd set
Vamooooooooos! It is beautiful to see how wise you're playing. It just goes to show how much mental plays a huge and understimated role in tennis. Boa sorte an jornada!
Man you look so relaxed out there and that roar at the end! I replayed that a few times. Yeh!
loved this, man! so cool to see you go into lockdown mode when it mattered most
Final 2 games were insane. Very well played!
Brilliant match guys! Looking so smooth out there Karue. I agree with the mannarino comment.
Man that passing shot at 25:35.... the margins were so thin, too good
I never pull so hard for any pros on tv as I do for you in these. Congrats.🎉
Finally, some 4.5 NTRP tennis. Cant wait to see these guys break into 5.0 NTRP.
?????
😂😂😂
Pure gold. Thank you for this!
What a match! thanks for sharing and CONGRATS!
I love this! Keep pushing!!
