      Getting 1 point is really hard not because of level necessarily, but enduring the travel and playing qualis against people without any knowledge of their game style. Once you have 1 point and can qualify for the main draw of futures, everything becomes easier.

      he has been around 400 in the ranking already when he was younger, so he definitely is a good player with big potential. unfortunately he is one of the many who couldn’t afford the itf tour by just playing tennis. still, even getting 1 point takes a lot of effort

    This is an awesome vid Karue! Some great questions. I also had one for you as well. How much of rising in the pro rankings is mental and confidence versus a difference in skill and physical ability? I'm a 4.0 player and when I rally with some 4.5 buddies of mine I can keep up no problem but when we play matches I feel like I automatically handicap myself mentally by telling myself that I am worse than them which leads to my confidence eroding very quickly. Does this happen even at the top tier ranks when someone in the hundreds plays a top 50 player? Any tips on how I can overcome this?

    Hey, Karuuuooo!! I have really loved watching your videos and the insights. Can you please share some forehand and backhand volley techniques. Specially, the swing path from the position on court and the ball height. I watched a couple of videos here and there on youtube and got confused. The confusion is that there is a different racquet angle and path when you are close to the net and depending on the height of the ball then you are much far away from the net.
    However, I personally feel that the entire motion of any shot is same in most situation. Please help to let if I am not completely correct.

    Hey Karue - huge fan! I noticed on a lot of the matches you've lost this year your 1st serve percentage was down. Like low 50s or below. Would you say that's your biggest area of improvement to get to the next level? Cause I think if you're consistently >60%, you're gonna crush your opponents especially given how good your return game is.

    • @KaruesellHQ
      @KaruesellHQ  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yep. It's always the serve. Serving has never been easy to me and while I am a lot comfortable with it today, there are still days it goes off. And I can be stubborn trying to continue to hit big. That being said, you still need to win free points so it's about the balance of things. It is something I focus on a lot

    • @jonz94
      @jonz94 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@KaruesellHQ You got this! As someone who also is shorter (by tennis standards lol), I draw a lot of inspiration from guys like you, DeMinaur, Mannarino, Alcaraz. Dominant service games needs to revolve around high 1st serve percentage and then good +1 forehands. Guys 6'0 and under like us aren't gonna have high ace percentages, but that's ok.

    Your ATP ranking is around 600, however you did say that your UTR world ranking is 369. Of the two rankings, the UTR world ranking is probably a better indication of your level. I feel that one great advantage that a top 100 player has is the opportunity to play in front of huge crowds. The energy and excitement one feels playing in front of a packed stadium is difficult to describe. Of course playing challenger and futures events the crowds are a lot smaller. Players like yourself are truly artists, I hope you will always continue your tennis journey.

    Much better to physically be able to take a shot at your dream than not due to career-ending injuries. I had a severely torn rotator cuff my senior year of high school. In my early 20s, a good friend of mine (former pro player with top 10 wins who coached some top 50 players) offered to train me for my shot. I was physically unable accept his offer. :( Go for your dream whenever you can. :)

    Hey Karue, has Chris Eubanks success motivated you at all to have success on tour, especially b/c you beat him. Love your videos & good luck!
