@@raghavnath6068 well the first avengers isn't entirely immune from criticism; as much as i dig it i find the dialogue at times to be a little too quippy and bickering. Also it's very cgi heavy but that's really a personal pet peeve of mine. I favor practical effects a lot more. Overall solid film in terms of character development, story, and good geeky spectacle. Age of Ultron is a mess but my kind of mess. Lol. It's convoluted, asinine, schlocky, but it's still entertaining as hell. I honestly don't know how matt is gonna react to it. He's a fickle film critic but that's why we watch this stuff. Haha.
That is one of my favorite scenes. If you think about it, that man was probably there when Hitler was in power, saw the split of the Germany and the rise and fall of the Soviet Union. He is a man who had seen a lot of hardship, and was still willing to stand up to a virtual god.
I watched this at 2am and we got thin walls here but as soon as I saw matt standing up and clapping the shit out of it, I was clapping too but trying to not make a noise lol
His brief scene in Thor was at least centered around him choosing to use a bow and arrow, against orders, over a gun. It's not a lot, but it does at least provide some setup for his main gimmick for when we see him in Avengers.

I remember when Phase 1 was starting, just the idea of connecting different “franchises” was...weird. Like, there was really no such thing back then of planning out sequels/follow ups YEARS in advance. I remember thinking to myself, “They’re already planning Avengers? That’s like, 3 years from now! What if these tank and we never get to see that?” It didn’t seem real that it would actually come to fruition.
That was my though I still remember thinking how is it going work because they were all different. I was like sure in comics they find a way to make it work. But my friends and me we were expecting for the movie to suck. But my god it was one of the best movie we experience on theaters.
This movie pulled so many people into the marvel franchise. People started to appreciate the other marvel movies because of this film! For me it was a jaw dropper. Goose bumps
Winter Soldier is actually my number 1. Became my number one when it came out, and nothing since has topped it for me. Civil War I have around number 5. Iron Man 2 and Thor-Dark World are my bottom 2.

Every generation had it's franchise. For many, it was Star Wars; For many, It was Harry Potter or LOTR; for many, it is the MCU; For many, it was DCU. (DCEU is different, DCU as in whole)
I saw the Avengers 7 days the week it came out. Once in a school trip, 3 times with friends from school, and the rest will family members. I was 12 years old and just kept nagging to watch it again.
I think the MCU is unique in that it gave people that feeling in 2 or even 3 of their franchise's movies. I saw multiple Marvel movies in theaters, but Avengers 2012, Infinity War, and Endgame all just felt like absolutely monumental once-in-a-lifetime occasions.
I like that actually has things to say, even if he dislikes the film, it's not just "I don't get it, terrible" and that's it, he makes notes and articulates what he doesn't like about them.
I have to admit, the first wave of MCU movies that culminated in the Avengers (2012) was one of the most enjoyable cinematic experiences I've ever had.
I'm pretty sure The Incredible Hulk was the first MCU movie I watched and I actually liked it since I couldn't compare it to Iron Man. I like Iron Man 2 too.
Nico Manohar yeah i guess but the action sequence isn’t like others. It doesn’t just show huge hoards of people fighting it actually manages to focus on each hero without doing a slow mo shot. The Russos really know how to create action scenes.

There are things to like in it, though. From his perspective, anyway. He does tend to read a lot of these comments so I won't spoil it for him, but the party near the start has lots of good stuff in it.

I remember going in to see avengers 1 with no hope. I was like, "there's no way they can have that many superheroes together with enough for each character". I came out blown away that they pulled off just that. Great great movie. They had my full faith in the franchise after this. They had the formula down.
I could see him liking it. Matt seems far more into stories and relationships than big explosions. That's the thing about both Iron Man and Thor, which he liked - they are character redemption arcs that HAPPEN to have explosions. I would wager it's why he was indifferent to CA:TFA, because there is no real change in Steve INTERNALLY. Winter Soldier definitely forces Steve into re-evaluating who he is and what his purpose is...and even moreso, Natasha. Since it's more of an espionage thriller with three grand set-pieces, and not another origin story...I could see Matt really enjoying it.
He is a bit unpredictable. But given his views on Captain America in Avengers, my guess is that Winter Soldier is going to be a favorite for him. It has depth, and it uses Cap in a really good way.
My memories of going to see Avengers in the theater? I remember being excited. I remember hearing snippets of comic book talk all around me (I'm a life long comic book fan) and I remember thinking "These are my people, I'm surrounded by a big family". About that time A guy came into the theater wearing an Iron Man t shirt and he just stood there smiling for a second Looking at the crowded theater in front of him. He put up his hands and shouted something like "Are you all ready for this!". Everyone started cheering and shouting. I was ecstatic, so many comic fans united in excitement. It was intoxicating. The young man then shouted "Ive been waiting 4 years for this!" and went to find his seat. That moment was bitter sweet for me. I'd been waiting for that movie since the 70's. I realized that many in the audience had likely only became fans of these characters over the past few years. (It also made me realize that I was as old as dirt.) So, I guess they were more like...an extended family. Not much of a difference really. But I remember that moment just before the movie started. It always stuck with me.
I was so hyped when Matt loved it. I had no idea how he’d feel. This is the same guy that disliked Captain America because the scientists were wearing latex gloves. But he’s okay with the giant floating alien shrimps through Manhattan.
Lots of people dislike Age of Ultron. Strangely it becomes more awesome when you revisit it later after seeing what comes afterward and can better appreciate how it is setting up so many things that don't seem to matter until the end of phase 1.
I enjoy the way Stark and Banner get along. Both of them are highly intelligent and creative, and each recognizes and respects those qualities in the other. Most of the time Stark sees himself as superior to other people, but he considers Banner an equal.
Avengers was actually my first marvel movie! My mom decided that we should go and I was like, “sure why not?” I wasn’t really into superheroes at the time, but I loved it! Then we slowly worked backwards and we were set for life in this wonderful franchise! I’m glad Matt enjoyed this one, I was afraid he wouldn’t!

I'm in my 50s and to think Hollywood would actually make this movie with so many of the beloved comic book characters in one movie was absolutely amazing
I was a sophomore in high school and I remember waiting in line with my closest group of friends to go and watch Avengers at the midnight launch. Shared a lot of emotions and that night will forever go down as one of my most cherished memories with some of them as they have sadly passed on. So Avengers holds a special place in my heart.

"A Bygone Jim moment" Put that on a shirt. Edit: The first time I watched Avengers, it was on Netflix around 2014. It was a fantastic movie that I watched once a week for a month or so. I love Marvel phase 1.
This moviegoing experience was one of my favorite ever. The audience ate it up. Lots of laughs and reactions. Biggest laugh was Loki getting slammed by Hulk. That’s one of the most memorable moments. Hairs stood up on the back of my neck when the Avengers fanfare played and the money shot (hero circle) was on screen. Maybe the best scene, especially when combined with the Hulk transformation/punch just before. I remember how Joss Whedon’s quirky humor stood out. In particular, the $10 bet, Coulson waiting on hold while Natasha whipped some tail, “Capsicle”, Thor’s adopted line, the Shakespeare joke, “Point Break”, flying monkeys, the Shawarma thing, “It seems to run on some form of electricity,” the Shield guy playing video games, “life model decoy” joke, Hulk punching Thor out of frame, and Hulk rag-dolling Loki. I also remember how Whedon’s interesting shots stood out to make the film more unique. Examples: the mirror shot while Natasha is tied up, the upside-down scepter shot showing how out of control things were at that moment, initial shots of Fury from the ground to show the scale of the environment and make him larger than life, the shot of Cap and Fury through the bleachers in the gym, and the trading cards covered with blood being tossed on the table but shown from beneath. Whedon’s scene transitions were excellent (“war is won by soldiers” transitions to Cap, “should’ve left it in the ocean” transitions to Tony under water, “we’ve got all the toys” transitions to the bad guys looking at/discussing their toys, etc.). There were lots of setups/payoffs that were terrific, but best for me was Cap saying Tony wouldn’t make the sacrifice play, but Tony did that in the end. (I didn’t take this as a “Cap was wrong” moment, but rather a “Tony surprised everyone” moment.) I recall being blown away by the CGI Hulk when compared to the version from Hulk and from The Incredible Hulk. So much better. Actually looked real and looked like the actor playing him. Most impressive of all was how they brought together disparate characters and worlds together into a cohesive movie that was not just adequate but superbly entertaining. Little did we know how much more was to come. 😀

I went on opening day with my family. We watched it in IMAX on May 4, 2012. There were people debating whether it was Star Wars day or Avengers day. I had a blast watching the film. We had waited a year after that trailer in the end credits of 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and the payoff was well worth the wait. I remember when watching Avengers in the theater, I drank all my soda and I really had to go to the washroom during the 3rd act, but I didn't want to miss the movie. So I 'avenged' my bladder, to watch the rest of the film. I think what works so well with the film is the character interactions. If you identify with a character's view you can see other characters reflecting off that. This was a big one and I will always remember that day. There's more detail that I could've gone into. Like how my family was fighting while on the way to the theatre, but I don't want to have this comment too long.
I was seven when I saw Avenger’s and it was one of the last movies I saw with my dad before he left for a few years. I don’t remember a lot of it, but I remember coming out of the theater loving it. I remember how much my dad loved it, and I remember my sister being confused on why The Hulk punched Thor (she’s weird). The Avengers was one of the happiest memories I have with my dad something I couldn’t make more of for a long, long time, and for that reason I’ll always love the Avengers. Despite what anyone says.
I think what we can take away from this is that even someone who doesn't like over the top action movies can still enjoy it when they care about the characters.
Andrew Dilbeck I love them too! I was hooked since the Star Wars videos. Holden trying so hard to share his love of great sci-fi & fantasy films with his intellectual buddy Matt. Both having very interesting points of view. I consider myself to be a Holden, but it’s great to see Matt opening up to these experiences and even seemingly liking most of them. The points he makes are valid, but his intelligence is holding him back from some of the fun that can be had (that’s not a bad thing, but it appears his wall of reality is beginning to crack!) Glad these videos and Holden’s channel keeps growing, this type of content makes TH-cam a better place to hang out.

Growing up in a small town and on the wrong side of the tracks, I didn’t have comic books or anything close to that at home. My mom had Superman comics that never left packaging because they couldn’t see the light of day. But once we left my hometown to another small town 8 hours away, my world opened up. X-Men came out and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I knew about the Avengers but didn’t really know their characters. But without them, I wouldn’t know my friends and I would be with the love of my life. I just wouldn’t be where I am today. I didn’t watch Iron Man or Captain America in theatres. We watched it at home and got my family into it because it was something that I started becoming passionate about. When The Avengers came out, my friends and I did the same thing as Holden and dressed up (although it wasn’t the midnight premiere- we had just started our Senior year in high school so we still had curfew). But from there, these characters grew on us- we each held a certain character close to us (I’m the Black Widow of the group but Steve Rogers and Clint Barton will always be my favorites). And from there, we all try and see each movie together- even if it’s not the midnight premiere, we go to one of the first showings the following night. But with how Matt loved the Avengers, I can’t wait to see how he feels as the stories progress and with Iron Man being his favorite- I’m looking forward to him seeing that character arc through the Infinity Saga.
I love watching Holden rewatch these ans Matt’s new point of view. It’s so interesting to see what you guys have to say and I like hearing the opinions weather or not I agree with them it’s still fun. I can’t WAIT to see more. I’ve been looking forward to this
I’ve seen almost every MCU movie in theaters (except for Iron Man 1, Hulk, and Captain America 1/2) and they’ve been a big part of my life growing up. I have a lot of memories dragging family and friends to the midnight (or more realistically 7PM) showings of these movies. I first saw Avengers with my brother and it was either in Imax or just a larger screen then we are used to. It was amazing to see all these characters I’d grown to love over the past 2 years all come together and it was truly something special. We both were super excited when we went in and even more excited once we left.
I lived in South Korea when this came out. I saw it in a 4D theater. Still the highlight of every mcu movie I’ve seen. This movie was such a game changer and seeing it with an international audience as an American made me appreciate what they’ve created.
I remember seeing Avengers for the first time, I had to sit in the very front row because all of the other seats were taken. That theater got very loud. That was the first marvel movie I saw (I was really young when the others came out) and that was the movie that made me love marvel movies. I hadn’t seen anything like it before and I was worried that I wouldn’t like it, but I did (a lot). When I got home I made my dad show me all the other movies (and I have been watching movies ever since).
I remember I was 8, and at that time the only MARVEL movies i had seen was Thor and Iron Man. My parents didn't let me go o the movies to see Avengers because I was too young, and I remember being absolutely destroyed, because I knew the scale of it and I was just so excited. So a couple of months later we were at a friends house and they had downloaded it. I spent the entire time watching the movie intently and running around the room pretending to fight Chitauri. And now I've watched every MARVEL movie 5 times or over. Great vid and great movie
When avengers came out I was 12 and I had that child “I’m too old for this now” so I had seen iron man 1,2, hulk, and cap. I hadn’t seen Thor. This movie said, “fuck that, you’ll watch all of these until the day you die.”
I'm very glad matt can appreciate the buzz. Even if you don't enjoy the mcu films, you can't deny how much of an impact, influence and anticipation that is felt when watching these movies.
Endgame was the definition of "fulfilling". That first day first show experience was on another level. The energy inside the theater was so electric, I can't describe it in words. Wish I could go back in time & Experience it again in theater.
My favorite factoid for the making of The Avengers if that RDJ just put random snacks around the sets. He would grab them and offer them to the actors/actresses during the filming. One of the moments is he offers Bruce blueberries. If that ain't Tony Stark idk what is.
Another one: the shawarma end credits moment. Cap was sitting the way he was, with his face obscured because Chris had grown a beard for another movie he was in. The shawarma scene was done in reshoots, so he'd scheduled another movie after the primary shooting, needed the beard for it and got the call that he needed to do some more for Avengers. Can you imagine the conversation? "What are we gonna do?!" "Don't worry, I'll just sit like this," he hides his beard and most of his face with his hand. "That's stupid! Try it anyway, otherwise we'll have to shave you." "Holy crap, it actually worked!"
This was a great reaction from Matt! I watched the Avengers again an hour ago and I just loved how many thoughts and feelings came up. Even back then, I remember waiting for this movie for years ever since I caught the teaser with Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man so every team up scene in the movie felt amazing because it all worked! 😊 It felt like the event of the year! My friends and I watched it right after we got out of school at 4 o'clock and word spread so fast that when we were leaving, there was a long line out the door of the building for the next showings. It really felt like one of the prime time moments for comic book movies.

I’m 18 now I remember in 2012 when I first went to see The Avengers in theaters and I was only like 11 or 10 at the time and I was losing my shit seeing iron man and Thor fight each other and then my mind blew even more when Thor and Hulk we’re fighting and I thought they will never beat this movie and then infinity war came out and then endgame.

The Avengers was the first comic book movie I ever saw. Saw it in IMAX opening night with a friend and then immediately got on a flight to Amsterdam. Such fond memories surrounding this movie.
When avengers came out, it still wasn't a mainstream movie but it was very anticipated by superhero fans. This was the movie that broke the nerd barrier for superhero films. I remember I was cleaning the yard and my friends appeared out of nowhere. We went to the theatre and everything was sold out. As soon as we turned around in disappointment, the theatre opened a couple more shows. The theatre was packed of people in costumes and superhero merch. I remember when the avengers logo appeared on screen I shouted and everyone else in the room shouted. To me is not just a movie, it is an experience. It is perhaps the most memorable time I had in the theatre

I remember when Phase 1 was starting, just the idea of connecting different “franchises” was...weird. Like, there was really no such thing back then of planning out sequels/follow ups YEARS in advance.
I remember thinking to myself, “They’re already planning Avengers? That’s like, 3 years from now! What if these tank and we never get to see that?” It didn’t seem real that it would actually come to fruition.
That was my though I still remember thinking how is it going work because they were all different. I was like sure in comics they find a way to make it work. But my friends and me we were expecting for the movie to suck. But my god it was one of the best movie we experience on theaters.

I remember seeing The Avengers in the theaters on opening weekend and watching how the crowd reacted so enthusiastically I thought to myself "this is what it was like (in a small way) to seeing Star Wars for the 1st time in theaters back in 1977."

Every generation had it's franchise. For many, it was Star Wars; For many, It was Harry Potter or LOTR; for many, it is the MCU; For many, it was DCU. (DCEU is different, DCU as in whole)
I saw the Avengers 7 days the week it came out. Once in a school trip, 3 times with friends from school, and the rest will family members. I was 12 years old and just kept nagging to watch it again.
I think the MCU is unique in that it gave people that feeling in 2 or even 3 of their franchise's movies. I saw multiple Marvel movies in theaters, but Avengers 2012, Infinity War, and Endgame all just felt like absolutely monumental once-in-a-lifetime occasions.

I like that actually has things to say, even if he dislikes the film, it's not just "I don't get it, terrible" and that's it, he makes notes and articulates what he doesn't like about them.
I have to admit, the first wave of MCU movies that culminated in the Avengers (2012) was one of the most enjoyable cinematic experiences I've ever had.

That's best Captain America movie for me.
I could see him liking it. Matt seems far more into stories and relationships than big explosions. That's the thing about both Iron Man and Thor, which he liked - they are character redemption arcs that HAPPEN to have explosions. I would wager it's why he was indifferent to CA:TFA, because there is no real change in Steve INTERNALLY. Winter Soldier definitely forces Steve into re-evaluating who he is and what his purpose is...and even moreso, Natasha. Since it's more of an espionage thriller with three grand set-pieces, and not another origin story...I could see Matt really enjoying it.
He is a bit unpredictable. But given his views on Captain America in Avengers, my guess is that Winter Soldier is going to be a favorite for him. It has depth, and it uses Cap in a really good way.

My memories of going to see Avengers in the theater?
I remember being excited. I remember hearing snippets of comic book talk all around me (I'm a life long comic book fan) and I remember thinking "These are my people, I'm surrounded by a big family". About that time A guy came into the theater wearing an Iron Man t shirt and he just stood there smiling for a second Looking at the crowded theater in front of him. He put up his hands and shouted something like "Are you all ready for this!". Everyone started cheering and shouting. I was ecstatic, so many comic fans united in excitement. It was intoxicating. The young man then shouted "Ive been waiting 4 years for this!" and went to find his seat. That moment was bitter sweet for me. I'd been waiting for that movie since the 70's. I realized that many in the audience had likely only became fans of these characters over the past few years. (It also made me realize that I was as old as dirt.) So, I guess they were more like...an extended family.
Not much of a difference really. But I remember that moment just before the movie started. It always stuck with me.

Lots of people dislike Age of Ultron. Strangely it becomes more awesome when you revisit it later after seeing what comes afterward and can better appreciate how it is setting up so many things that don't seem to matter until the end of phase 1.

I enjoy the way Stark and Banner get along. Both of them are highly intelligent and creative, and each recognizes and respects those qualities in the other. Most of the time Stark sees himself as superior to other people, but he considers Banner an equal.

Avengers was actually my first marvel movie! My mom decided that we should go and I was like, “sure why not?” I wasn’t really into superheroes at the time, but I loved it! Then we slowly worked backwards and we were set for life in this wonderful franchise! I’m glad Matt enjoyed this one, I was afraid he wouldn’t!

fazzfood joint I’m only 32 and I’m still shocked they did it so well. Technology has made so much possible and I’m grateful for that.
I was a sophomore in high school and I remember waiting in line with my closest group of friends to go and watch Avengers at the midnight launch. Shared a lot of emotions and that night will forever go down as one of my most cherished memories with some of them as they have sadly passed on. So Avengers holds a special place in my heart.

This moviegoing experience was one of my favorite ever. The audience ate it up. Lots of laughs and reactions. Biggest laugh was Loki getting slammed by Hulk. That’s one of the most memorable moments.
Hairs stood up on the back of my neck when the Avengers fanfare played and the money shot (hero circle) was on screen. Maybe the best scene, especially when combined with the Hulk transformation/punch just before.
I remember how Joss Whedon’s quirky humor stood out. In particular, the $10 bet, Coulson waiting on hold while Natasha whipped some tail, “Capsicle”, Thor’s adopted line, the Shakespeare joke, “Point Break”, flying monkeys, the Shawarma thing, “It seems to run on some form of electricity,” the Shield guy playing video games, “life model decoy” joke, Hulk punching Thor out of frame, and Hulk rag-dolling Loki.
I also remember how Whedon’s interesting shots stood out to make the film more unique. Examples: the mirror shot while Natasha is tied up, the upside-down scepter shot showing how out of control things were at that moment, initial shots of Fury from the ground to show the scale of the environment and make him larger than life, the shot of Cap and Fury through the bleachers in the gym, and the trading cards covered with blood being tossed on the table but shown from beneath.
Whedon’s scene transitions were excellent (“war is won by soldiers” transitions to Cap, “should’ve left it in the ocean” transitions to Tony under water, “we’ve got all the toys” transitions to the bad guys looking at/discussing their toys, etc.).
There were lots of setups/payoffs that were terrific, but best for me was Cap saying Tony wouldn’t make the sacrifice play, but Tony did that in the end. (I didn’t take this as a “Cap was wrong” moment, but rather a “Tony surprised everyone” moment.)
I recall being blown away by the CGI Hulk when compared to the version from Hulk and from The Incredible Hulk. So much better. Actually looked real and looked like the actor playing him.
Most impressive of all was how they brought together disparate characters and worlds together into a cohesive movie that was not just adequate but superbly entertaining. Little did we know how much more was to come. 😀

The scene that still gets me is where they all stand together and the theme song plays in the background. That's always been a hype moment.
I went on opening day with my family. We watched it in IMAX on May 4, 2012. There were people debating whether it was Star Wars day or Avengers day. I had a blast watching the film. We had waited a year after that trailer in the end credits of 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and the payoff was well worth the wait. I remember when watching Avengers in the theater, I drank all my soda and I really had to go to the washroom during the 3rd act, but I didn't want to miss the movie. So I 'avenged' my bladder, to watch the rest of the film.
I think what works so well with the film is the character interactions. If you identify with a character's view you can see other characters reflecting off that.
This was a big one and I will always remember that day. There's more detail that I could've gone into. Like how my family was fighting while on the way to the theatre, but I don't want to have this comment too long.
I was seven when I saw Avenger’s and it was one of the last movies I saw with my dad before he left for a few years. I don’t remember a lot of it, but I remember coming out of the theater loving it. I remember how much my dad loved it, and I remember my sister being confused on why The Hulk punched Thor (she’s weird). The Avengers was one of the happiest memories I have with my dad something I couldn’t make more of for a long, long time, and for that reason I’ll always love the Avengers. Despite what anyone says.
I honestly love this “my friends watches... for the first time” it’s so good 👍
I think what we can take away from this is that even someone who doesn't like over the top action movies can still enjoy it when they care about the characters.

Holden trying so hard to share his love of great sci-fi & fantasy films with his intellectual buddy Matt. Both having very interesting points of view.
I consider myself to be a Holden, but it’s great to see Matt opening up to these experiences and even seemingly liking most of them. The points he makes are valid, but his intelligence is holding him back from some of the fun that can be had (that’s not a bad thing, but it appears his wall of reality is beginning to crack!)
Glad these videos and Holden’s channel keeps growing, this type of content makes TH-cam a better place to hang out.

So for me, the first Avengers movie will always hold a special place in my heart. Growing up in a small town and on the wrong side of the tracks, I didn’t have comic books or anything close to that at home. My mom had Superman comics that never left packaging because they couldn’t see the light of day. But once we left my hometown to another small town 8 hours away, my world opened up. X-Men came out and I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
I knew about the Avengers but didn’t really know their characters. But without them, I wouldn’t know my friends and I would be with the love of my life. I just wouldn’t be where I am today.
I didn’t watch Iron Man or Captain America in theatres. We watched it at home and got my family into it because it was something that I started becoming passionate about. When The Avengers came out, my friends and I did the same thing as Holden and dressed up (although it wasn’t the midnight premiere- we had just started our Senior year in high school so we still had curfew). But from there, these characters grew on us- we each held a certain character close to us (I’m the Black Widow of the group but Steve Rogers and Clint Barton will always be my favorites). And from there, we all try and see each movie together- even if it’s not the midnight premiere, we go to one of the first showings the following night.
But with how Matt loved the Avengers, I can’t wait to see how he feels as the stories progress and with Iron Man being his favorite- I’m looking forward to him seeing that character arc through the Infinity Saga.
I love watching Holden rewatch these ans Matt’s new point of view. It’s so interesting to see what you guys have to say and I like hearing the opinions weather or not I agree with them it’s still fun. I can’t WAIT to see more. I’ve been looking forward to this
I’ve seen almost every MCU movie in theaters (except for Iron Man 1, Hulk, and Captain America 1/2) and they’ve been a big part of my life growing up. I have a lot of memories dragging family and friends to the midnight (or more realistically 7PM) showings of these movies.
I first saw Avengers with my brother and it was either in Imax or just a larger screen then we are used to. It was amazing to see all these characters I’d grown to love over the past 2 years all come together and it was truly something special. We both were super excited when we went in and even more excited once we left.
I lived in South Korea when this came out. I saw it in a 4D theater. Still the highlight of every mcu movie I’ve seen. This movie was such a game changer and seeing it with an international audience as an American made me appreciate what they’ve created.
I remember seeing Avengers for the first time, I had to sit in the very front row because all of the other seats were taken. That theater got very loud. That was the first marvel movie I saw (I was really young when the others came out) and that was the movie that made me love marvel movies. I hadn’t seen anything like it before and I was worried that I wouldn’t like it, but I did (a lot). When I got home I made my dad show me all the other movies (and I have been watching movies ever since).
I remember I was 8, and at that time the only MARVEL movies i had seen was Thor and Iron Man. My parents didn't let me go o the movies to see Avengers because I was too young, and I remember being absolutely destroyed, because I knew the scale of it and I was just so excited. So a couple of months later we were at a friends house and they had downloaded it. I spent the entire time watching the movie intently and running around the room pretending to fight Chitauri. And now I've watched every MARVEL movie 5 times or over. Great vid and great movie
When avengers came out I was 12 and I had that child “I’m too old for this now” so I had seen iron man 1,2, hulk, and cap. I hadn’t seen Thor. This movie said, “fuck that, you’ll watch all of these until the day you die.”
I'm very glad matt can appreciate the buzz. Even if you don't enjoy the mcu films, you can't deny how much of an impact, influence and anticipation that is felt when watching these movies.
The most emotions I felt during an MCU movie was the Endgame. Definitely. In the theater of course.

Endgame was the definition of "fulfilling". That first day first show experience was on another level. The energy inside the theater was so electric, I can't describe it in words. Wish I could go back in time & Experience it again in theater.
My favorite factoid for the making of The Avengers if that RDJ just put random snacks around the sets. He would grab them and offer them to the actors/actresses during the filming. One of the moments is he offers Bruce blueberries. If that ain't Tony Stark idk what is.
Another one: the shawarma end credits moment. Cap was sitting the way he was, with his face obscured because Chris had grown a beard for another movie he was in. The shawarma scene was done in reshoots, so he'd scheduled another movie after the primary shooting, needed the beard for it and got the call that he needed to do some more for Avengers.
Can you imagine the conversation?
"What are we gonna do?!"
"Don't worry, I'll just sit like this," he hides his beard and most of his face with his hand.
"That's stupid! Try it anyway, otherwise we'll have to shave you."

This was a great reaction from Matt! I watched the Avengers again an hour ago and I just loved how many thoughts and feelings came up. Even back then, I remember waiting for this movie for years ever since I caught the teaser with Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man so every team up scene in the movie felt amazing because it all worked! 😊 It felt like the event of the year! My friends and I watched it right after we got out of school at 4 o'clock and word spread so fast that when we were leaving, there was a long line out the door of the building for the next showings. It really felt like one of the prime time moments for comic book movies.
This is my pre-avengers reaction and so far I get this strange feeling that he isn't going to like it. Will edit after watching full video so stay tuned please?

When avengers came out, it still wasn't a mainstream movie but it was very anticipated by superhero fans. This was the movie that broke the nerd barrier for superhero films. I remember I was cleaning the yard and my friends appeared out of nowhere. We went to the theatre and everything was sold out. As soon as we turned around in disappointment, the theatre opened a couple more shows. The theatre was packed of people in costumes and superhero merch. I remember when the avengers logo appeared on screen I shouted and everyone else in the room shouted. To me is not just a movie, it is an experience. It is perhaps the most memorable time I had in the theatre
