I got a cobb bpv installed with big SF intake....but I have this turbo inlet, cobb top mount intercooler and cobb charge pipe waiting to be installed this weekend! Maybe I need to make a channel
since I had to reinstall the stock inlet I am going to make some improvements on this grimmspeed inlet. 1st I will bore out the bypass valve port because it reduces to a significantly smaller size compared to the OEM one. This may be the reason it sounds so odd when bypass valve opens up. 2nd I will do some resurfacing and polishing work on the interior surface since it is not as smooth as it should be in my opinion. There are casting impressions on the surface that should be smoothed to a near mirror finish to minimize air resistance (the OEM plastic one has a much smoother surface on the inside) 3rd I am going to try to figure out a better gasket situation since I dont like the simple o ring that seals this inlet to the turbo itself, a small engine movement during acceleration could possibly break the seal.
Update since my last comment. I went to install the Cobb charge pipe and TMIC kit and ran into an issue that ended up being due to the GS inlet.... the flange and silicone coupler that came with cobb charge pipe will not clear the stock boost control solenoid since the inlets boost control bracket threads about 1/4" off dimensions. I had to install the stock inlet to get charge pipe on.

Other than that this inlet is on the right track, I noticed some good power and sound gains but I think the small details I've discovered need to be improved for it to be the best.
I ended up removing the GS inlet shortly after installing it. I noticed the bypass valve sounded much different but more like compressor surge. After removing I compared it to the stock inlet and noticed the port for the bypass valve was significantly smaller in diameter, which is what caused what I assumed was surge. I would recommend boring that inlet out to proper diameter. Also The cast surface on inlet interior could also be polished to a mirror finish to improve airflow.
