- This episode is part of our 16 day Coastal Karnatak tour, we started this tour on 26th November 2020. This journey was started from Mangalore and we went upto Gokarna.

This particular episode is about Mangalore fishing harbour, locally called as Bunder. We were surprised to see the fish unloading happening early in the morning. There were thousands of people visible on the port who came to sell or buy fish at 6 am.
We started our day at 6 am at Mangalore fishing port , spent more than 2 hours talking to locals at the port and understanding how they operate, we were fortunate that we got chance to see the. boat from inside and talk to local fisherman.
When we were about to leave the port we got in touch with a fisherman who took us along on the boat, we got chance to see how fishing happens in deep sea.

He said everything is well organized, wait when the govt privatised this. There won't be any auction, there wont be subsided deasel, already Vijaya bank from canara is sold to Bank of Baroda and now ATM of that branch in karnataka has gujarathi, hindi and english and no kannada. Mangalore airport is also sold to Ambani, yet the right wing from this region supports this govt cause of religion, I hope that one day they erase all traditions and culture of Canara, dump yakshagana and impose dandiya and garba. Say Jai Jai...

I hd seen such action at Paradeep and Visakhapatnam Fishing port.Eventhough I am a vegetarian I love catching fishes .The fishing industry is still highly unorganised in India being controlled by local fishermen yet producing one of the greatest catch and exporting them .Harish Ji ,venturing into Deep sea for fishing needs a great courage and passion .Kudos to you.What an experience u had 👌👌👌
