  • This is a quick and easy way to tiddy up your D1 cable and reduce the risk of having any wire failures. A couple minutes and a couple of bucks may save you weeks of waiting on a new cable. All you need is 1 - 8" wire tie and 8 - Command Strip Picture Hooks. They are white. I painted mine black.

Thank you. I do like the way mine looks and don't have to worry about snagging the cable. It is nice. I had another video before this. I just used dabs of hot glue. It worked great and one clean look! Loved it, but since I am doing videos, there were some warranty concerns. I revised it to be more warranty friendly...

I did the same to mine. Now I just need to get the damn thing to work.

@@viperdesigned When I attempt to burn a 25mm x 25mm square, pulled down from the Laserbox Basic menu, it burns a rectangle 25mm(Y) x 2mm(X), the laser head rattles like it is trying to jump off the gantry. It does the same motions when framing. One time I attempted to burn with multiple passes and it burned a square wave like might be seen on an oscilloscope.

@@thomasstocks702 Just for giggles, try a different USB cable and keep it away from any other wires. Also hearing that weird things happen if you updated the firmware and dont have one of the new Rotaries they just started putting out.

I used the same cable path. But I used the Command Strips, but used the Velcro like strips. The cable can be easily removed, but it is held in place very firmly. And the strips are hidden by the cable.

Sounds nice! There are a number of ways to do it. Keeping the wires safe is the main thing. I made a set of clips that I use now. They are in my store.. www.etsy.com/listing/1196371802/14pc-cable-wire-clip-set-xtool-d1

Great idea. Why can't xTool supply something like this. It is very untidy with cables laying on the work space.

My laptop doesn't have great volume, and the sound in this video was just too low for me to follow, but thanks for the video.

Even following the instructions with the zip ties leaves wires dragging in the work area. I'm afraid it's going to move my material while engraving.

I don't have that problem with mine. You can look on etsy and there are people selling drag chains that will protect the wires no matter what. It will take a little effort to install, but the best for wire safety.

Great Idea, but you need to perfect your presentation methods. What should have been interesting, was actually quite boring.
