It's too bad she can't travel because here in Tennessee, there's an Elephant Sanctuary in Hoenwald TN for elderly elephants. The Knoxville Zoo has already sent two there. Unfortunately, one elephant,Jana, had health issues and had to be euthanized.
Always had a soft spot for this little lady. Last time i saw her, she would stand with her foot in a bucket.. cause her arthritis was so bad . That was 20 years ago . Hope they dont make her still do shows.. but rather just live out her days. And telling us they want to give her more space, is nothing. Get her more space, she has worked for decades, she earned a bigger home. Less animals there means they have yhe room.
@@carmenclark9676If they are lieing they are not going to give you the true facts to check are they, the world knows they are a herd animal that NEED other Elephants for their well being. You dont have to be a rocket scienceist to know that she is in the wrong country or area and needs other elephants.Time she was moved to a santuary.
O.K., BULL SHE ISN'T FIT TO TRAVEL. Elephants can live close to 100 in the wild. In captivity, they're lucky to see 45. I fear her time is coming soon. thanx Edmonton zoo!!
Independent evaluations stated she could travel if other health issues addressed...but NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE FOR HER. not one of the recommendations followed. They wait patiently for her death in her glass cage. So very cruel. She is housed in a dingy dirty barn, breathing difficulties due to silica and my lord are they still making her paint via her trunk?? Waiting for the insurance money when she dies ,meanwhile we watch her painful slow demise
Too bad they can’t put a little friend in there with her for company. If they could get her to Florida, I’m sure a sanctuary here would love to take her.
@laurenurban3942 There's animal abuse everywhere....Are you still supporting dairy/factory farms? There are Billions of livestock being butchered or abused everyday but its just prepackaged for you...Canada isn't as nice as they think they are and I'm Canadian...
These animals should not be alone. The overall health is effected by her ability to socialize. This zoo should be making every type of effort to getting her to a real sanctuary....not alone in a zoo. This is just archaic behavior on humans' part. Edmonton is failing and is still a failure as it's been over a year now and nothing has been done.
Imagine a zoo treating an elephant so bad it still isn't fit for transport. Pakistani mahouts of Kavaan probably did a better job than Lucy's veterinarians and carers. Shame on you Edmonton Valley Zoo.

Edmonton is too cold ...she should be in a warm climate. Very selfish for Edmonton zoo to lie and not release her. Unacceptable
Are they lieing though? Honest question..do you have any references to that info I can have to check it out?

Free Lucy, send her to a sanctuary
It's CRUEL. IT'S CLEAR THE FREEZING AIR HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO HER BREATHING???

Elephants don't belong in Canada 😂
Are they still clubbing baby seals to death in Canada?
@@laurenurban3942 seals are annoying though

Nice excuse... she needs to be somewhere warm with other elephants! Her health would improve way more if she was happy....💔
Her trunk looking for greenery and nothing...come on we can do better 😭😭😭
Let Lucy Go To Elephant Sanctuary in Tieland NOW?????,
