Lucy the elephant not recommended to travel: Independent panel of vets not unanimous

- Animal rights group Free the Wild is no longer recommending Lucy the elephant be moved from the Edmonton Valley Zoo, after an independent panel of vets looked over the solitary animal last fall.
It's also not safe for Lucy to stay so what is the better option ? Take a risk on her having a longer and far better life or condemn her to a miserable life followed by death in the very place responsible for all her ailments! If Lucy were a human this conversation wouldn't even be happening the chance of a better , longer and happier life would always be taken!
"Media reports have emphasized the Zoo’s conclusion that Lucy should not be moved, but that’s only part of the story. Dr. Patricia London, with decades of experience working directly with elephants, including at sanctuaries, wrote the most comprehensive report of all the experts, and advocated for Lucy to be moved to The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. And Ingo Schmidinger with the Global Sanctuary for Elephants in Brazil, noted that the Zoo had failed to diagnose a breathing condition plaguing Lucy for the last 14 years, but that there was no other physical or psychological reason that she could not travel."
Their was 2 elephant experts that said Lucy should move and she could with proper planning. Get it right. Lucy is suffering and slowly dying in Edmonton. She needs to be moved to a warm climate Sanctuary!
She should go to the same sanctuary as Kaavan.
What is the point in interviewing the very vet who failed to diagnose or treat Lucy's huge tumour? One thing beyond doubt is this womans expertise so far as elephants are concerned is left wanting!

This is a joke. Lucy makes money for the zoo. Plenty of evidence of other elephants in worse condition than Lucy being relocated successfully to sanctuary.

At coast of Canadian Government Lucy should be send back to the country where she belongs. The politicians in Sri Lanka has made very selfish decision by sending this beautiful female elephant to Canada for there foolish prestige. At least to spend her rest of the life without been selfish send her back The Best place for is Pinawala elephant park where she will meet lot of clan members.
If i had known the place was going to be so small i never would have sent her here. It was the only place i knew of and the people at the circus were going to shoot her. Lucy was shipped to Edmonton from Bonavista Newfoundland after she decided to to lay down to get the kids that were riding her to stop kicking her. I wish i had known a better place for her but i was a kid and it was the only place i knew of.
Pls send her back to her motherland Sri Lanka....
Return her to Sri Lanka to enjoy the rest of her life with her friends..
There is no elephant sanctuary in Sri Lanka.

based on the video content, specifically the health risk of moving and the apparent efforts of the zoo to provide better care, it seems as though not travelling is the better option. however, the comments by voice for animals are quite relevant too for if the conditions of her care are not up to task, then this is no place to stay. so, imho, the really issue is not just the opinions of the vets, but just how good a life is she going to have where she is.
Edmonton Zoo has done nothing to improve her life. Canada is not the right place for an elephant, it gets so cold and her "caretakers" don't even give her a blanket, not talking about that concrete prison. The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee is waiting for her - warmer climate, natural habitat, good care
