That's my Philly girl! Glad to see the Philadelphia Zoo transfered her to the sanctuary. Now she and the other girls at the sanctuary, can live peacefully with nature. God Bless the Sanctuary.
I just can't ever get enough of seeing these wonderful transfers and new friendships made. Dulary found herself the best place in the world and new sisters.
It's been about 10 years since I found the Elephant Sanctuary. Since that time I've kept up with the ele's and their lives. I do not normally cry easily, but I've never watched a video or read stories of them, that I don't shed a tear....tears of joy that they have all of you who care for them. God bless them and you for a lifetime of love.
Ann Pavai God bless you and your people for helping these beautiful intelligent beings. Many blessings to you all. It's beautiful to see them all happy..
I’ve been in a self-imposed quarantine for cancer treatment for much of this year, so when I didn’t go out, I spent much of my time online, watching your Girls’ antics. They really cheer me up! I especially enjoyed this video of Tarra excitedly welcoming Dulary. Since I can’t work right now, I can’t donate to your sanctuary; but once I find a job, I certainly plan to donate. Do you issue receipts for income tax purposes for Canadians? If not, I still intend to donate when I can!
I adoreTarra as she always near any new actions. What a wonderful welcome she gives to all. All you caregivers are so lucky to interact with elephants. I know God is smiling down on you all. I could watch hours of your elephants. They are one of the most special animals alive. Id love meet each one of the girls and a huge hug and kisses.
I was in tears when I received the sad news. My condolences go out to all the people who worked with her, and to her ele-friends, especially Misty. I'm glad she got to live the rest of her life in sanctuary. Rest in peace, Dulary.
I feel such a connection to Dulary. I remember being at the Philadelphia zoo as a child in the 60's and again in the 2000's as a member. There was a small group outside of the exit one day, asking for signatures to send the 3 elephants to a sanctuary in TN. Up until then, i had not thought about how sad their lives were. I became an advocate for elephants that day
I just received an email from the Elephant Sanctuary that Dulary passed away last night, Sunday, December 22. My condolences to everyone at the ES, Dulary was so fortunate to have so many supporters and friends. Namaste sweet Dulary.
Tara seems to be the first one on scene in a lot of these. They're all sweet elephants and it makes me so incredibly happy they have somewhere safe to retire and live as elephants. Thank you so much. xx
These videos make me shed tears of joy. I wish we could show these videos to all of the zoos and circuses and make them understand how important it is for them to let their elephants come to the sanctuary where they can be free. I received a disturbing email from the Bronx Zoo trying to tell me how well they treat their elephants. I responded but of course have had no answer. Of course I feel the same for all animals that are "kept" like that. There is such a lack of compassion and an abundance of ignorance in the world. We will all pay dearly for this in the end.
Thank you so much for your support of The Sanctuary! Warm thoughts from all of us and the Girls for your full recovery. We appreciate your desire to help The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. Acknowledgements and receipts are sent for all donations. We are a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation. Sanctuary Much for your support!
@ThePowerofElephants Dulary is doing just fine--she has a very healthy appetite and remains very active with daily swims, etc. She just has a very lean body style, whereas elephants like Misty are more round and built like a "tank." Don't we all wish we had Dulary's metabolism!
Can you imagine being a wild animal and traveling in a big truck or on a train such as Barnum and Bailey Circus has done!!! It doesn't matter how long the animal has been in captivity it is STILL WILD all of it's life!!! Please watch the movie BORN FREE about a lion. I wish humans would leave all wild animals alone!!!! Thank God, there are people who care enough about wild animals to help them !!!! I do most assuredly love the The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee and the sanctuary in California USA for caring enough to open sanctuaries for these mistreated and imprisoned beautiful and good natured elephants . I am always praying to win the lottery so that I can give millions of dollars to these sanctuaries for the care of these elephants. Thank you sanctuaries for your generous and kindness for these magnificent creatures that God has created for all humans to love and enjoy!!!
@SingingHealstheHeart Please check our website and recent Asian diary entry and slide show for information about Dulary and Shirley's interactions. They are doing fine!
Was she the one at the Phila Zoo that was doing the two step? I have photos of the elephants in that zoo. I remember seeing one that was .. stepping forward, then stepping back .. i knew then that elephants needed to be else where. I went to that zoo about 2004 or 2005.

Dulary is gorgeous, it is wonderful to see her settled and happy. Hopeful her old life is just a distant memory for her.
Its wonderful the way all the girls get along and become a family..
Beautiful animals and beautiful people who take care of them.

I guess when the elephants see the truck they know they are getting a new member of the herd!
How neat to see them welcome each other!

Never tire of watching these animals, such a wonderful place for them, heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time to see them meet
I love how Tarra is always part of the "Welcome Wagon" and is so excited when someone new joins her group.

How did Tarra know there was a new elephant in the truck?
Was she the one at the Phila Zoo that was doing the two step? I have photos of the elephants in that zoo. I remember seeing one that was .. stepping forward, then stepping back .. i knew then that elephants needed to be else where. I went to that zoo about 2004 or 2005.
She doesn't want to leave the trailer until the NPR program is done. Happens to us all the time.
Tarra says hello Dulary 🐘
why did the zoo have to give up Dulary?
What does the vocalization at 2:43 mean?
Of you left iT to elefants THE world would-be à beter place
Is Tara the official greeter?? I am new to your channel so I don't know.
As our "founding elephant," Tarra has witnessed many arrivals here. She seemed especially interested in Dulary.
elephantsanctuarytn thanks for answering. she is a beauty!!!!
