This is exciting, also terrifying that my roommates and I always wanted to move to LA because we wanting a career in the film/TV industry in Hollywood one day! We all live in Idaho. Sure there is other states that has the film/TV industry! But CA is closer to Idaho than any other state! CA is really expensive to live but people have to make tons of money before moving to a new state!
I totally get it - it's not on the low end of costs, but there are different areas that would work for you to be able to buy a home. Try Vista, California or Escondido, California or National City - is down south county of San Diego too.

It’s definitely more expensive for sure when living in San Diego, but not areas are as expensive though
I'm from San Diego Ca but living in TX, I want to move back but afraid I can't sustain living there. Been searching for ways to make it work.
