I have both. Sound is better on Hyper, Mic is better on Arctis, Ear/Head Comfort is better on Arctis. For long gaming sessions and gaming with friends, I use Arctis. For short burst (less than 2 hours) and solo playing, I use Hyper.
I mean for me alphas and cloud 2 are a lot more comfortable than arctis

i have the cloud 2 but wouldnt reccomend if you are on console like i am because there is no way to change the volume or unmute/mute yourself, which is why im getting the arctis 3

This is just basically personal preference at this point. I just personally love Steelseries Arctis versatility and simplistic design. You can just use it on public with your phone without looking like a construction worker. Plus, you can customize the headband and ear cuffs at your liking, different colors to choose from and the option to share audio from the audio jack. If you're an audiophile gamer that is looking for an all-around gaming headset, then this is bang for the buck for you.

HyperX all day all night long. So unbelievable comfortable. 7.1 it's super. Noise cancelling microphone. If I wear this headset during gaming I don't hear any background sounds. I love it. Worth any buck.

I ordered the Arctis 3 already for $30 off Amazon because of Black Friday, and it should be arriving later today, these comments have made me even more excited to know that they are super comfortable and the mic quality is good. After switching from the PlayStation gold headset, I’m super excited to have something that is way better, and cheaper (I never use the wireless feature on the gold headset because once I switched to ps5, my friends have told me the audio sucks ass for the mic when it’s connected wirelessly)

I got these two headsets and all i can say is the hyperx has better sound. However in terms of comfort and functionality, i like the arctis 3 better.

I bought the HyperX cloud alpha 2 days ago and the game audio sounds amazing and also music but the chat audio was horrible everything echoed, the headset would go silent and then back to full volume. I got it to work a couple of times but it would always go back to the echo. today I exchanged them for the artics 3 and they’re amazing, I wish they a bit more bass like the cloud alpha but so far I’m satisfied with them 👌🏽
Cloud 2's are really comfortable for the first 30-45 minutes, but after that I can feel myself wanting to take them off. This might be because I have glasses but I'm not entirely sure.
I'm just going to pick up the arctis 3's tomorrow, can't wait

For me on ps4 with the cloud 2 you can plug the usb into the PlayStation and use the headset with all its features that way, mic controls and 7.1 surround works as well

im a programmer , i am going to get the arctis 3 2019 as it is wireless and wired and it is stealthy , i dont need out of ordinary equipment i like to keep it nice and simple.

I’ve had both but would prefer the cloud 2 bc artics 3 max volume is very low. Just picked up artics 9x wireless and even though all artics headsets use same 40mm drivers the 9x has different eq settings and that makes a huge difference. I can hear footsteps better than ever before on PUBG!

Yeah I agree on the volume being low I just used some app to boost the volume but the comfort is unreal and it’s soo lightweight

HyperX Cloud Silver vs Arctis 3 2019 edition which one is a better
I've had two Cloud 2's, and both times the mic volume was so low that no one could hear me. Worst part is that you can't adjust volume. Also, the cord is super fragile.
Mine are fine.
I see, the arctis 3’s have a removable cord, so if they break you can always buy a new cord instead of buying a whole new pair of headphones... and I think that’s super good!!!

Ok so this is what I’ve learned from the video if you play on console get the steelseries arctis 3 if you play on PC get the hyperX I personally was looking at both of these headsets the other day (getting a replacement mic since my last one broke)
and had a hard time deciding which one to get and this video helped me out a lot thank you and great video

Mic test for both was almost too close to call. Had to use several different headsets to listen in before making my judgement call. It's close, but it's HyperX Cloud II for the win.

I think there was a mistake with the hyperx cloud 2. the thing you called an adapter from 3.5 mm combo to mic and headphone jack is an airplane adapter if I remember correctly.

@@Tommygimbal Haven't been on a good plane in a while (only on the cheap ones) but I think Lufthansa and some others had special headphone jacks embedded in the arm wrest. They had this connector so they could sell your their headphones

I bought the Cloud 2's but had to return in after 2 days - the clamp-force is so tight that it hurt my head and ears after wearing it for more than 15 minutes. Bought the Arctis 3's instead and they are so comfortable, plus the ear-cups are breathable (unlike the Cloud 2's), so your ears don't get as hot.

yeah the arctis 3 really comfortable even after many hours playing games like LoL, GTA and watching TH-cam. I have the arctis 3 2019 edition (which are more comfortable than the original arctis 3) so make sure you get that edition (i dont think they even make the original edition anymore so your only option is the 2019 edition anyway)

Arctis headsets are super comfortable, sometimes you will forget your wearing it for HOURS.
Sound and mic quality are great too.

We have watched a number of these videos on the SteelSeries arctis3 2019 edition and this is the best natural sounding mic test we have heard. We also own one and ours sounds like the other mic tests. Nasally, Tin can like, and processed.
Your mic test seems to be more rich and natural. Can anyone help sort this out. We have heard that getting the mic setting just right can be a challenge. But there are not a lot of options to mess with. So what is the deal please? Watch just about every other mic test and compare to his and you will see what I mean. I would love to get our set to sound like this one.

To mute the hyperx cloud on console you just plug the cable into the console and use it like you would on a pc.

Just because it has a USB port, doesn't mean that it can connect to anything that has a USB.

Helps to have a yeti mic or something similar like that plugged into the system. Mute button on there so you can use a wider range of headsets much easier. With the ps4 at least , that is. Lol
Beware for cloud 2s. On ps4. The mic mutes itself sometimes so alot of times i talked and had no response. I checked in party and mic wasnt moving. Just click the 7.1 buttom twice and it will work again. (Warning) the USB sometimes doesnt entirely recognise the headset so you have to plug it out again and plug it back in. Also it is very prone to break. The cables are it's worst feature. Causing it to make static noises. Avoid moving the cables to much... After about 5 months i burned through 2 hyper x cloud 2s. ( i take very good care of my headsets and my sennheiser gsp300 lasted me atleast 2 years.) I am getting either the Arctics 3 next or turtle beach atlas elite headset.

You can use the USB controller box to mute the mic on the PS4 with the HyperX. Maybe this was fixed after you uploaded the video or you just didn't test it properly...

The cloud 2 the mic is good but it's a bit fuzzy the arctis 3 sound bleeds a bit but overall a bit better cloud 2 7/10 arctis 3 8/10

I am using Arctis 3 for two months. Its very nice. Comfort, mic quality whatever else but there are two negative sides I really hated.
That headset doesn't have a USB (out) cable. That's so bad when you going to use it with other computers. Maybe the other PCs 3.5mm jack input doesnt work and when like that it felts me so bad. (input in front of computer case, not behind)
When I use for long-term it sweats around your ear. And that makes myself feel so hot after long duration (like 2-4 hours). I love that headset, but there are cons like that. Already now enjoy with it :)
