I dread the day Van physically leaves us. It'll be hard to say goodbye. He is one of the top greats in the world. For me, it's Van, Sinatra, Bennett, and Etta James

Seeing that kind of experience, both shared and independent of one another, Van and John Lee blend that mutual magic and create a sound that almost brings me to tears. Why can't it all be that way?

This is very old footage; I read part of it on geocities, now oocities. Didn't know it had been filmed. Van just looks a *lot* younger, for one thing.
They are already a couple by the time this was made, as I've read in one of those Barry Egan pieces that some fashion designer friend of Ms. Rocca said "your boyfriend looks like he sleeps in his clothes" & designed a "look" for him. Shades have to be his idea, but the hats & suits were theirs.
Also, as he & Ms. Rocca were already a couple at this time, at least some of those questions have to be "ask me this so I can say that"; she already knows the answer.
Nothing wrong with that, & you get a cooperative Van when he can guide the interview.
