The story about the tea is a wonderful example of opportunities for connection. Learning a bit about someone’s life is a much more captivating history for a photographer and those experiences will never leave you.
This was one of my favorite videos you've made, besides "The Bucket Shot" I love hearing stories behind photo and these were all great. I can't wait for the next episode.
when travel is possible again we need to see Thomas Heaton on here, mainly cuz I love both of you but also because of how different your and his approach to photography are. As well as how much different his style of photos is from yours.
This has the soothing interview banter of a podcast... where you could just binge a series like this in the background while doing something else... but it’s a video cast... and I want more... so now I’m glued to the screen and I can’t get away 😂😭
Here is an idea. You should do like this short film/ vlogs, somewhat like the bucket shot. Where you shoot your whole journey of taking a photo (building up hype) and reveal the final photo at the end. I think it would make an amazing series. ✌️
Absolutely loved hearing these stories. The rings signifying taking a chance on yourself, commitment to going back for the leaf fall, and Pemberton ice cap jpegs (which are stunning and would love too see this place for myself)- hearing all of it makes me fall more in love with photography. Its the adventure that drew me to it and will keep me forever.
I absolutely love how you guys talk about taking pictures! I can literally feel the excitement in your voice, that "I just love taking photos" hit my soul, I love this channle so much, Ican never get enough. I hope to one day be as good as you with my photography and videos
I’m glad to hear even professional photographers make mistakes because a photographer friend that taught me is always giving me crap for any mistakes as a beginner
Oh lord the world needs more of this kind of content. More on the WHY and less on the HOW. You manage the hows by doing, and you need your why to keep on doing it. You are both such an inspiration!
24:03 "I shot them all in small Jpeg" I feel your pain. I did that with Mesa arch after having got up at 3:30 am to get there for the sunrise. I cried.
Dude, there is soo much freedom vibe in Your videos that I feel more free while I'm watching. It's so great, motivates me to become free of 9-5 work schedule. Thanks a lot for everything!
Major inspiration for me. I didn’t know how much I needed this it really sucked me and I kept me there. Covid makes me want to travel and take photos and videos even more!!!
Peter you'll never read this but I wanted to say thank you for igniting my love of photography after 10 years away, for teaching me light room techniques that have amazed me and moved my photos to another level, for your enthusiasm and encouragement to us all..... Thank you .....P.S Loved this video and look forward to the next one.
We need this series to live on forever. So intriguing and such an abundance of experience with professional insight. Can't wait for the next one! P.s. hell yes to a studio tour.
WOW so many powerful lessons or life phrases that inspire me... "t’s the story of how I got the photo and the people I’ve met along the way." and 'making a vow myself to move forward and do things that make me happy' kind of mindsets. Thank you for this long video!
I just want to say thank you so much. You've inspired me so much and trying to bring cinematography into the drum world is not easy, but you give excellent advice on how to make the work just flow. I knew ever since I saw that AVA album in your old videos, that you were a dope dude, haha. Seriously, thank you. I really hope to cross paths with you one day.
In depth Studio Tour NEEDED!! Seriously digging this podcast type thing! Great information and highly entertaining... Also, I appreciate you looking at the camera cause it makes me feel lile I'm there in the conversation with you both.
I LOOOOVED the conversation! Alen is one of my most favourite photographers of all time and it was so nice to see a genuine conversation between two friends who share a deep love for the art of photography. I'd love to see a full studio tour, Peter. 🏎️ for Palander
In an era of quick vids to keep people’s attention I’m so pumped to see a 45 min vlog! Had to double take just to make sure I wasn’t seeing stuff. So great to get some in depth P McKinnon and friends, really awesome to hear the stories behind the images. Look forward to the next installment!
Alan Palander is my favourite photographer on this planet...so FREKIN talented and seems so humble and likeable! Only just found his YouTUbe recently and this collaboration with his friend Pete just cements how DOPE he really is!
@@YashBhatter I have come across your channel before when you had one video only Now you are making much better videos! You'll be on top one day! I subbed ✅

I remember seeing alen off this channel years ago, and its great to see you both again in a video. Also really enjoying the podcast! x2 with the matti & pete show what a spoiled week not to mention its a f1 race weekend! Also studio tour!
love the video! feels a bit like a podcast, chill interview that explains alot of how you get to a certain snap of a moment. Makes you forget about all the shit that happens and keep going for that 1 shot.
Love hearing you guys talk about your shots, keep this series going man! Also that shot at 39:34 is just insane, literally every time I see that thumbnail in my feed I stop to admire it for a little.
I'm watching you video by video, but I never commented. Until today. This video is great, the way you talk, the way your stories connect, the way we see/hear you, everything is perfect! Good job, guys! ❤️
I love how I found you through Jesse from Still it, but when I saw the photo of Chris, I actually got super happy!! I’ve watched Chris’s videos for years, and they way you talked about that photo and moment in life where it changed for you is so beautiful and that’s why I love photography. That moment/memory that’s captured
Your friend Allen had an interesting point, "without honest critique, you'll never grow", thing is youtubers such as yourself struggle to accept critiques from your own viewers. Here's a critique, all of the people you ever showcase on your channel are the SAME. The same as you, they have the same style, vibe, clothing, skin colour, gender. I get it, it's easy to be friends with people who are exactly like YOU. They fit in so well into your aesthetic. Pete, I'd challenge you to diversify your surroundings if you're going to start this podcasty type of thing. Bring us different view points, teach your audience and yourself a thing or two about diversity in a creative world that includes all different types of people and stories.
This is probably one of my most favorite videos I've seen in a long time. It made my creative juices start to flow more than ever before and I felt like I was getting an inside look into like the two masters. Thank you and I can't wait for more of this series!

You’ve inspired me to buy my first camera about 4 years ago. I’m only 16 now, and I’m getting paid client work, doing what I love, because of you!
that's awesome! do you have them on IG so I can check them out?
What's your ig bro let me see
Cool, but why don't you have a profile picture that you created yourself? That picture is definitely not yours.
How did you get started?
Dude amazing that you're getting paid already. I'm also 16 but I can't escape my responsibilities as a student

More videos with him - definitely yes
Can we name this: Behind The Frame
... because, you know, like behind the scenes but with photos.. and photos get framed.. I think you get it.
A photo IS a frame
what about the "scene of the frame"
Idk why but i always get motivated by his videos. Like he is doing so good and what am I doing with my life.
