Thanks for posting this is one of the better videos on this you actually take the cover off and show us what's going on underneath. I have a '09 night rod and the back breather valve is cracked. I got oil all over the place. I was so stoked to see that it's a fairly easy fix and the part that doesn't cost too much.
I had the same problem on my 2013 VROD MUSCLE. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from. When changing the battery, I saw the breather hose looked like a ninja sliced it numerous times. Hose was about $13. Replaced it and so far no more leaks.
Hello my my forty eight twin cam base gasket is leaking oil very little when moves and shake on bumpy road. What is the reason breather house ? Some guys said 2500 to change the gasket. I have low budget. Better Harley or third party mechanic ? Or any any air. breather hose. Please can I have idea. No knowledge. I don’t see oil coming from some where. Only I feel left side of seam. Please help me out thank you
Wow, this could be very helpful thank you! Just came back yesterday from a tour of Europe, had it serviced before I left, starting leaking oil just like this, hoping now it’s the breather hose and not the head gasket. Did you say carb cleaner or car cleaner? Thanks again for the great video!
I’ll be really glad if this helps you out. And it’s definitely going to be breather hose and not the head gasket. I said Carb cleaner. You could also use engine degreaser, throttle body cleaner or tool cleaner. Anything should do. Good luck!
Thanks for your video explanation, I just notice on my vrod the oil has a gasoline smell when I check deep stick, have had same issues before? Mine is 2012 with 21k miles on it
@@smartguy687 I changed 1 month ago. Also I bought today a new gasket goes under the air box case, 4 quarts of oil and I’m planning to get new injectors to replace
They don't even sale these hoses anymore where can you get them. They stopped making the front breather tube. And the rear one is in backorder possibly no longer available any solution for that
I bought breather hose ! Because it wrecks! But now I see the head gasket is leaking i asume i have to change it! You ever see! The OEM PART? Or Head gasket #part! Would be! So much Helpfull

Some people have made their on own too. Secondly we have dealers in Canada who has them in stock

Are you sure it’s your head gasket? It could be your throttle body gasket too. It’s pretty cheap and easy to replace.
