I've been watching videos on how to set up a pressure washing trailer for hours and your video was very unique and helpful! You made points that no one else talked about like where and why to locate components. Awesome job! Thank you!!
I’m working on setting up a trailer now. Would you happen to have the model numbers of both of those hose reels. That’s exactly what I need. Mainly the supply line hose is that the hundred foot or the 250 foot reel ?
Noob question, do you use a water tank because you’re using a high volume pump that could draw more water than the customers source can supply and don’t want to run the risk of damaging the pump with a low water volume source? Very curious to know this.
WouldntChaLike2Know ! So we can do use a water tank for that reason but you can run a hose straight up to about 5.5 GPM . The biggest reason we run a water tank is so it don't over heat when running but not flowing. With a water tank it will dump back into tank and not overheat Here is a video I talk about it Whats The Purpose Of The Buffer Tank? | What Size Buffer Tank? th-cam.com/video/o8CPMQdauTE/w-d-xo.html
Excellent video about some of the idiosyncrasies of setting up shop for pressure washing. You mentioned a lot of things the average “newby” might not think of initially.
I’m setting up a buffer tank now. I put my Hudson float valve through the lid to give me more water volume. Shouldn’t I also put a vent on the top of the tank?
I live in Nicholasville, I'm a lawn service and I'm adding pressure washing to my services to pick up some more work, I would love to pick your brain with a few questions so I could have a head start. I don't have the equipment like you, I just plan on doing residential.
I had a residential pressure washing company in Florida for 10 years and never had a big water tank. I always used the customers water. What is the big water tank for? Is it water only?
What would you call that gray metal piece where the engine and pump are mounted? I am trying to look for one and could really use your help. Nice set up by the way!
hey Michel I live in Orlando and I want to set up a open trailer pressure washer I'm looking for hose reels and I don't know which is better brand can u tell any tip about this
Hi Mike, thanks so much for all the great videos. I'm setting up an enclosed trailer for part time house washing. Been washing for about 3 years part time with a northern tool 4000 psi 4000 gpm machine with the X jet. I'm thinking of going to a 5.5 gpm minute machine with a buffer tank. My question is, will I be selling myself short with a 2500 psi 5.5 gpm machine? I do 99 percent residential homes. I would like to start down streaming instead of X jetting. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for the video, you say you go from garden hose reel , to tank, to pump, would you do the same in a urban area where water is available or would yo go directly to your pump & bi pass the tank. Also want are the hose reel$ worth? Thanks
Some nice points, except the point about the size of the pressure washer. You can still get a lot done with a 3 GPM machine and it's much more affordable to start out that way. Doing this on the side I've invested a very small amount of capitol compared to what you have there - flat bed truck (overkill for anyone who doesn't do this every single day), water tank, hose reels and the whole bit. Maybe you should specify in your title "Basics for a Commercial Setup" - so you don't have this confusion in the future.
im not confusing nobody. Set it up as a professional with hose reels and stuff so you can do house washing more efficient. Not saying you have to but this is how you do $1500-2000 dollars days
Power Washing hey let me ask you. Is the tank your main water source? Or do you the tank to buffet and get the water from the location. Is it professional to use a water source at the owners house
Hey Michael, What size flatbed is that W'xL'? What gallon tank is that? I have a 7x14 enclosed trailer that got me by the last 2 years but im going the flatbed route this year. Im looking at a F250 7.3 diesel with 8ft flat bed right now. I have 2 cold water units right now(8 and 6.5gpm). I watched all your videos probably 2 or 3 times each as I am a up and comer and look up to your success. Seeing all your videos and all the neat little tricks and new/different types of equipment... I was wondering what ones you stuck with and use to date??(aka dual feed your pump, down streaming setups, caged tanks vs legged tanks, downstream bypass, jrod vs mjet, etc etc lol). Again, I am just curious on a overall look of all your instructional and experimental videos which ones stick and work for you today. Thanks and Happy Holidays from DLC Power Washing Goldsboro NC!
Hey can you explain me what kind of permis do i need to start doing this kind of business and olso is that is the price a year or every how long do I neet to pay for? thank you for your help!
my setup will be this remember its not a company + I'm 13 11hp 3000psi power washer, 1000lt ibc tank, seat inca, 4x6ft trailer - I think, what do you think of it oh yea and 50ft - 75ft of hose
Basically you just said here's some parts, you need to figure out for yourself where and how it needs to be. And you dont need to start out with a 20k set up to start your business. You sound like you really didn't want to make this video you shouldn't have wasted your time.
I've been watching videos on how to set up a pressure washing trailer for hours and your video was very unique and helpful! You made points that no one else talked about like where and why to locate components. Awesome job! Thank you!!
Best example I’ve came across for a plain and simple start up 🙌🏽

Where you got those reels?

If I have a 4gpm 4200 psi machine should I not even consider soft washing or have buffer tanks? Since it’s not belt driven
I’m setting up a buffer tank now. I put my Hudson float valve through the lid to give me more water volume. Shouldn’t I also put a vent on the top of the tank?

Nice Harley!
Where do you suggest I get jump line for the machine to reel?
I had a residential pressure washing company in Florida for 10 years and never had a big water tank. I always used the customers water. What is the big water tank for? Is it water only?
It is for water and you are correct. I use a lot of small tanks now
You may need it if a well or water main is super slow.35-50 gallon is plenty for a 4-5.5 gpm
What are the names of those hose reels? thanks!
I believe they’re called general
Cox reels
Awesome video bro 😎
Thanks
Do you guys make them kits I’m looking for one
No I dont
Can you post links for all the supplies you showed on the video as far as reels, water supply tank, pressure washer etc. Thanks.
what fitting will fit the male end coming out of the buffer tank?
Depends on what size your buffer tank is. Some are 1 inch summer three-quarter inch summer 2”
What would you call that gray metal piece where the engine and pump are mounted? I am trying to look for one and could really use your help.
Nice set up by the way!

***** you like the Isuzu trucks over a diesel pickup with flatbed?
Ah nice! I never drove one. Maintenance/parts/insurance about the same cost as a diesel pickup?
Nice job. Good recommendations. Favorite quote... "Pressure Wash On!"
My home depot Pw has a honda gx 390 and CAT pump?.... seems like the same thing as every other brand. Just with a better warranty.
Thank you so much 👍👍
