Yes I was a faith follower, we went to see him at the castaways in Bradford street Birmingham. For some reason we were sitting on the stairs between the casino and the entertainment area. You can imagine our surprise when Adam was coming down the stairs alone decided to sit down with us for a chat. After chatting for a while he said do you fancy a game of cards. We were beside ourselves, going into the dressing rooms we were surprised to see Peter Noone of Herman’s hermits and I think Mike berry was there also. We stayed for about half an hour playing cards and were amazed that they played for pennies, no big stakes. Very enjoyable. This was somewhere between 1964/5 can’t remember exactly.
How well I remember Adam Faith from my teen years in the 'sixties. As soon as he released a new song we would rush down to the record store to put the '45 on to the turntable. Thanks for being a part of our lives, Adam.
I can understand why his wife was furious. It must be horrible to loose all that’s important to you and also learn that you’re partner was unfaithful 😢
My husband and I watched him in the tv series love hurts with Zoe Wanamaker loved it. My son is actually named Adam after him we couldn’t think of a name then my husband saw him in London in 1994 and when he told me we both agreed that’s what we will call him. Heart goes out to he’s wife x
Yes, he said that nobody wants to hear my old hits now, but someone told him we all do as they bring back such great memories to many of us, that you owe it to us all to sing them now and then. He came from that time of Cliff Richard, Billy Fury, Marty Wilde and many more that were home grown and were our answer to Pat Boone, Elvis and others from the US.
I'm 64 so was only a child at the height of Adam's career, but even then, I fancied him like mad. I loved the series "Budgie". I loved his music too, and my sister often plays it on her radio show, "Angel Radio" in Havant, Portsmouth, UK. They play music up to 1969. It's very sad that he died at only 62, and very sad for his wife.
I was a member of the Adam Faith fan club and still have my membership card, records and autograph. I met him 3 times in the late 50's - twice when he came to my home town Hull on his tours. I'm shocked to hear about his affair and the impact on his loyal wife. Thanks for sharing these memoirs and some unknown facts.
Very well done history of a very recognisable and great singer and actor. Loved Adam as singer but also as an actor, very versatile and appreciated by so many and still a part of rock history. RIP Adam.
I met Adam Faith more than 25 years ago in a Corporate setting - it would surprise many of his followers to know how/why. He wanted to invest in a very well known burger chain! He was such a handsome, down to earth and lovely guy. Although, much slimmer and shorter than I was expecting him to be. He never was granted a franchise as it was a Owner/Operator enterprise and I imagine that he never envisioned himself flipping burgers, LOL!
I met him in a car park lift going up onto a third floor he spoke and smiled ,I saw him just after driving down in a Jaguar , this was years after he survived a car crash he was a real star my elder sisters idol 🤩
Yes I was a fan of Adam faith, and also liked Leo sayer.what bothered me was he wasn't on TV that many times between 1970and 1976.i had to see him at the cinema in stardust .
Other than his music the one thing that is always in my memory is that very short sketch between Adam and Freddy Star both being dressed the same. Just a few short minutes of talent from each.
I was an Adam Faith fanatic from the age of 9. Bought all his 45's and e.p.'s.....Because my father was in the orchestra I was even lucky enough to see the Sunday afternoon rehearsal for his appearance on live tv that night...either Sunday Night at the London Palladium...or the Prince of Wales theatre...I was 10 at the time so cannot remember exactly...I do remember his band The Worried Men were backing him on stage...a great talent
further....I became a pro piano/keyboard player (now retired)....and in 1990 I was in the band backing Freddie Starr for a summer season at the Blackpool Opera House. One night during the interval Freddie came to the band asking us to be ready to busk the Adam Faith hit 'What Do You Want' because the great man himself was backstage visiting. Sure enough Adam joined Freddie on stage in the middle of Freddie's well-known impersonation of Adam, and they did their comic routine together...as previously seen on tv....with Adam asking where his royalties were from Freddie impersonating him for years. They then finished the spot singing Adam's first number 1 together. We the band were on stage with them...a great memory for an Adam Faith fan.
I saw him play the lead role in Alfie at the Nottingham theatre Royal,he was so good..My husband named our son Adam and I think it was because he was a fan of his music.I remember his financial column in the Daily Mail and he was great with Zoe Wanamaker in Love Hurts.Still missed today 😢but it’s great that I can see him on the Talking Pictures tv channel in Budgie,so handsome and he played the cheeky chappie to the full .He just had to smile at the girls.
No he isn’t remembered today as a trendsetter but he is loved by my age group, we remember his great hits, I asked members in all three choirs I belong too if they remember him or his songs and every one I asked remember him, I saw him at the NME awards singing at Wembley Arena London. Also I think I’m correct in saying he was the first singer to be arranged and directed by the great John Barry. They came from a time when you could sing their songs and would you believe this understand what they were singing about.
With my first pay-packet I purchased Poor Me. I was a big fan of Adam Faith. I also purchased his EP. I loved Budgie. I thought it was a great show. It is sad to hear his wife did not fare well after his death.
My dad was a film editor and had an assistant, Terry Nelhams and Terry said one day: John I'm leaving and I'm going to be a pop star. Dad said he was great and sent Xmas cards for years, he did an amazing 10 year deal with the income tax people so could be good with money at times...remember his office, very swish in Chelsea.
having seen him portray a hitman in the bbc's murder in mind, i read the jack higgins sean dillan books and realised that adam would have been perfect in the role
Adam Faith was quite one of my favs; so handsome. I'm puzzled because for some reason I seem to remember reading he died while watching TV and verbalised at it as he was a bit ticked off with it. Since that time I've always thought that is exactly how it went down. I didn't hear it in a comment somewere either, as I'm sure it was in the paper or a magazine. Perhaps somebody else might remember that, but probably not. I have to remember that was 20 years ago.
He was one of the 60s best performers. His music, usually written by Johnny Worth (Les Vandyke) and played by the John Barry Orchestra, was second to none and to say he was a massive hit would be an understatement. When the Merseybeat era arrived he reinvented himself with a rock group, The Roulettes and later became an actor , a manager and a financial journalist. It was sad that Jackie (his wife) was left penniless. His early records, Poor Me, Who Am I, to me were the best.
Adam came out with a couple of good quotes during his lifetime one was "I seem to find it easy to become a millionaire it's staying one that I find hard" another was " I have had problems when I was poor, and problems when I was rich, I preferred the problems when I was rich" he wasn't just a pop singer he was quite a clever guy.
Not his music...he starred in Love Hurts and was remarkable ! So sad ..he had everything to live for. What about his daughter and wife? How are they doing ?
Adam Faith was popular in his day but like a lot of 50's pop singers was seen as 'old hat' once the Beatles came along. i watched your vid and i can not see any pop singers today thinking i will plan my career on Adam's blueprint in fact i guess he's unknown to the latest batch of pop stars, nice vid though.

The same goes for my son.
My son born in 1993 is named Adam because my husband liked his music and his name.

Yes like him very much a big fan . And 2 a lot more singers who was about at the same time. 👍
I met Adam at the playhouse and I kissed him on his cheek. He was George's I miss him terribly. May he rest in peace.
