But we were able to see the stage from the parking lot & hear the music & then hopped a ferry over to South Street Seaport and lower Manhattan to see the other stuff. Really REALLY HOT day. Whole thing was awesome, I believe this was a free concert from what I remember.

      I love them both too ....they are a part of the soundtrack of my life....my first major job as a dancer...beautiful experience ...people dream of things like this happening to them...and danced and choreographed for over 30 years..and yes some were jerks...but I loved every minute of it...

    • @sandyherron4391
      @sandyherron4391 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      CorneliusWashington I’m sure to dance and use your abilities at that level you must be tremendously talented and I’m sure you worked hard to get there. Just realize most people only dream to live that life.
      I realize some will not believe this but I live about 100 feet from the house I was raised in, I teach at the school I graduated, my family was so religious , I was not allowed to go to my prom because of the secular music and dancing. Music at my house had to be gospel, I was not aloud to wear shorts or tank tops. I would sneak and make mixed tapes from the radio and wait for my parents to leave so I could play my music and dance. I didn’t even realize people had the life you describe. I keep watching videos from this concert even though it kinda makes me sad. I wanted to experience this in my youth and now it’s too late. However, I can relate to the movie footloose on a very deep level🙄.
      But as I said earlier you are without a doubt talented and hard working, lucky in a way that you could do what you love and experience life to the fullest. Btw
      I want to see that coke commercial!!!!

    I loved this song growing up, I'm in my 40's. My mom, who's passed away, loved this track too.
    Songs/tracks that transcend generations, where you can listen to something with your parents or kids and both really enjoy it is remarkable to me.
    I could crack this track up as loud as I wanted, my mother would never complain. She was grooving to it just like myself. ❤👍

      that is G.E. Smith who later went on to be in the band with Tbone on SNL... Smith's style was perfect and IMO the key to their 80s success. You had all this rock n soul but GE added that little touch of something more with his ability to drag notes out a little longer than most guitarists, he added a very layered haunting sound to what H&O did.

    Daryl Hall was 38 or 39 in 1985 and still had a perfect metrosexual youthful look. I wish more white guys could look like that. :)
