This song makes me cry. Thinking of mom and how proud she would be at my college graduation this May😭 I filled in her footsteps and worked 2 jobs to put myself through college and I’ll be graduating debt free like she did

Mark, the guitarist, lost his parents in his teens. Danny, the lead singer, lost both of his parents at Valentine’s Day, 11 years apart. Glen, the drummer, lost his dad a couple years ago. So this song is really personal for all three of the band members.
to add to the story of this the lead singer danny lost his dad february 14th, 2008 hence the start of the song and the tattoo on his wrist this song was written for his dad. his mom later passed almost exactly 11 years after his dad in february of 2019.
also to add to it the second guy who sang mark had never added a lead vocal to one of their songs before this one. this song was also written for his dad and even his mom because he lost his mom a few months before danny lost his dad and mark had lost his dad when he was 14, so not long after the script was formed in reference to danny’s dad and mark’s mom. so the song was more a tribute to their dads and even mom hoping they were looking down on them proudly at what they did and their success

I also want to say, this song was for Danny's dad and they did "Run through walls" in honor of Danny's mom who passed away last year, a really beautiful song
My grandmother held my grandfather straight before she died of cancer then he started drinking behind my back he drank himself to sleep when I was 4 years old and now I am 16 and just found out of that my father doesn’t like to talk about him he gets angry when I ask a lot about him what can I do?
I have never had a grandfather I feel lost because I don’t have anybody to talk about life with.

I love this song! It is very sad though..
check out the Script's videos Hall of fame, for the last time, the man who cant be moved, nothing, breakeven, for the first time! i got to see them in concert twice in my hometown Chicago and also the lead singer came down and sang in the crowd and i got a hug from him! one of my favorite groups! i think one of the scenes in the video was the show i went to with my sisters and one of my cousins! if u get the chance to go see them in concert!

So the singer lost his dad and the guitarist lost both his parents. It’s such a sad song. How they wonder what they think of them now. I don’t know what I’ll do when I lose my dad.
