- Halo Combat Evolved vs Halo 2 - Direct Comparison!! In this video, Ill be comparing small details between the classic Halo Combat Evolved vs its sequel Halo 2 to see how they differ when it comes to attention to detail. Happy viewing!!
Fun fact: it was called halo 2 because you could wield two guns.
Nah, its called Halo 2 because you can wield two halos 😂
Three was going to be the same, but removed the feature last minute and the name remained the same.
@@spastictreefrogno it’s called halo 2 because there is 2 main characters nao!!!!!!
😱😱😱
5:35 The shotgun also does this in halo CE. Chief racks the gun to the side when it is completely empty
The pistol animation also changes
Yes that is correct! My mistake.
In CE it was actually three weapons with alternate animations:
1.- Sniper Rifle, indeed a tactical reload.
2.- CE Magnum, same time to reload but just a change in animation.
3.- Shotgun, if you deplete all shells and reload full 12 the player model will make a bump at the very end. This doesn't happen if you have one or more shells left.
One change i hated from Halo CE to 2 are some of the new weapons being magazine or belt fed.
It's not to say the covenant don't have the technology to utilize magazine or belt fed weapons, it's just it feels more alien when their weapons are energy based like they ALL are in CE. Besides to carry magazines and belts you need the ability to which we never see on covenant elites as it is because it would take away too much from their streamline alien appearance.
The brute shot sort of made sense being belt fed to exemplify brute tech being more primitive than the rest of standard covenant (prophet/elite) tech, and they actually do wear belts of grenades in their in game artwork so it makes sense.
The beam rifle was PERFECT But the carbine and fuel rod gun definitely didn't get it right.
The fuel rod was perfect in Halo CE multiplayer,
And the carbine should have been like how we see it in SPV3 with the particle carbine in that game.
The needler is mag fed and in 343 guilty spark there at even ammo pickups for it
@@magic00squirrel TBF its not an actual magazine. Its raw material that the gun morphs and shapes to how it needs to fire.
i believe dual welding in Halo 2 was popular back then due to early 2000s movies too. Matrix, tomb raider live action, Resident evil.
I have 2 things to ad. The Assaultrifle was perfect in its role as a weapon to run and shot while advancing towards the enemy. Thats the actual role of an Assaultrifle. Its like a mini LMG. The second thing is that CE has no Ragdolls. Those werent invented back then. Its just a simple death animation. The reason why they move after hiting the ground is because the moveble "bones" are being disabled.
Actually the CE magnum has a tactical reload
Yes and no.
It was merely an alternate animation as it didn't change how fast it reloaded.
One thing you didn't mention was that the AI can drive.
The problems I had with the human arsenal is multiple. The first is the removal of the Assault Rifle. I had 600 rounds to throw at the Covenant.
Now they give me the "bullet hose" aka the smg. They should have called it the SMH because this weapon is awful.
First, although this is a minor gripe, the sound effect. This thing sounds (and looks) like its shooting plastic BBs. "Oh no, there's a hunter!" Clackity-clackity! 🙄
Second the "screen crawl upwards" as you fire the thing. Now I appreciate some realism. At 900 rounds per minute, it makes sense that there would be a significant recoil but we also shoot rounds from Gauss hog that shoots a round at supersonic speeds but no recoil.
I love the Battle rifle but we're only given 108 rounds. That is only 36 shots and you're done. Plus unlike the pregame demo, cannot go through a jackal shield.
Halo 2 is a great game but they nerfed a lot of the human weapons in both function and aesthetics which makes it my least favorite of the trilogy.
Surprised the brute plasma rifle not in infinite even tho we fight a brute splinter faction.
Right?! Thanks for watching!!
Because 343...
"We want to bring about change.. just for the sake of change... even if that change sucks, atleast we can say we pioneered something and made it our own."
Notice how the plasma rifle wasn't in ANY of their fps campaigns .. it's literally for that reason.
( Despite the plasma rifle being the first ever alien gun seen on screen for Halo since before Macworld lol .. they care more for THEIR change and vision more than the legacy itself )
It was nice running into you today bud! Hope to catch you tomorrow!
Nice chatting with ya! Hope you have a great weekend!
can the next one be a direct comparison between CE, 2 and 3
Forgot to mention the grenade explosion chains from CE. When grenades are dropped from an enemy or player and an explosion goes off nearby they will detonate leading to some hilarious deaths in tight quarters. Missions Keyes and Library come to mind especially.
I was so amped for Halo 2 but then after playing through it once I went back to CE and stayed there until halo 3 basically. CE felt much more halo with the higher jumping, better grenades, and better balance on Legendary IMO.
Halo ce actually has more weapons with 2 reload animations, sniper rifle, magnum and shotgun
Yay more classic Halo please 😊
Yeah 23 years later halo CE weapon sandbox is phenomenal too bad it got nerfed in halo 2. And the elite combat AI is perfect because their ranks are diversed, their shield strength and health is really good like the golden elite zealot has the strongest shields while the spec ops has the 2nd strongest shields but are the only black elites that hurl plasma grenades light very accurate at long range, and their speed and strategies are fantastic and very challenging to fight than they were in halo 2 which their defense and their speed has been significantly nerfed since the marines in Halo 2 has been upgraded. And the problem with elites in halo 2 is that most of their shields and health are about the same as elite majors like zealots, spec ops, and honor guards.
Isn’t the fuel rod cannon also usable at some point? I have memories of using in CE multiplayer
It was usable in the PC version of CE that came out in 2004. Good memory!
How can you get that infinite ammo
i agree
i think in ce the weapons felt stronger, grenade was stronger, even melee attack had a farther range
Halo 2
Player Halo CE first but gameplay for halo 2 has aged better. The BR feels more precise than the pistol. Not too surprising sonce sequels are supposed to be bigger and better.
Halo CE was a polished game.. Halo 2 made me mad
That cliffhanger bro.. thanks for watching!!
They had to make a sacrifice. It was worth it.
Your basement or your moms?
Nice.
Halo 2 has better cutscenes and multiplayer
Halo CE has better everything else
