    I just did this breather mod to my 2010 nissan titan SE and used a 1/8 BSPT to 1/4 barb fitting since I couldn't find a fitting with a bigger barb size. I hope this helps people looking for the right 1/8 BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread (28 per inch)) fitting. Don't use 1/8 NPT bc the thread count (27 per inch) and design of the thread is different.

    Thanks for taking the time to make these vids! Hoping you'll do a vid on the evap canister. Filter gets clogged and throws a code when I hit dusty roads. I know its relatively easy. Similar to the breather tube for the diff, this reroute runs the hose behind the driver side taillight.

    its funny, i 'like' your videos before i even watch them. Always super informative and straight to the point! I have a 2015 Pro4X and only plan on really ever taking it to the beach..but my 06 Frontier NISMO i had was having a driver side axle leak..it can actually affect the safety of the vehicle as the e-brake wont work when the brake components get saturated with fluid, i actually kept failing a safety inspection because the e-brake wouldnt hold.
    Ill prob pick this up and just get it over with, its one of those mods that cant hurt and is cheap.
    You should do a quick video on the hood struts. I bought some good ones on Amazon like i did for my Focus ST, replace that silly prop rod.

      You know, I don't. ADO sent me the prototype front springs to try out so I know they are working toward developing front springs. It's possible they are also working on rears. If they end up doing a "broverland" style leaf for the Titan that is what I would install (and probably will).

    Hey Ry perfect timing for this video. My driver side axle seal has a slow leak as well and I decided to change that breather since im down there. I have the m226 diff and from my research, I have to cut out a spacer + wheel bearing to remove the seal. If u have the C200 diff I think it's much easier (no need to remove and press new wheel bearing).
    Question: since I have the oem breather, can I install that and find tubing that can fit over the breather and run that to the rear lights? Do u think that will work?

  • @Cocora22
    @Cocora22 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did exactly what you just did on my GX 460. Ran it behind the left rear tail light. Works great. Going to do it on our XTERRA, but I have a question for you. Why only the rear? Is there no breather on the front diff? How about the transfer case? I have really enjoyed all the content you put out. I have done so much work on my son's 2007 xterra and have been able to save him money and we've been able to extend the life of that vehicle. Most important is how much I have learned from you!!!!

    • @Rythecarguy
      @Rythecarguy ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! The front breather already has a hose that runs up to the air box. No check valve on that one. The transfer would run up the trans to the back of the engine. No check valve in there either.

  • @williamuhl8573

    When you do eventually replace the axle seal any chance you could replace the bearing too? Hopefully you have the C200 axle, there are virtually no vids on replacing this bearing, not even any specific literature in forums or any where else for that matter on how to replace it. However if you have the m226 axle, then no worries there's already plenty of videos on that one.

    Question: When increasing the venting length by 7'; Does this cause any issues with restricted ventilation flow? When considering the vented gas will have oil vapor in it; Would this pose a clogging potential from oily droplets condensing within the tube? Have you ran into any issue or heard of others that had problems arise from this mod? BTW, Thank you for the content you produce; It has been a invaluable resource over these past many years.

    • @petereastwood7868

      It is actually JIS Tapered Pipe (JIS B 0203) -2, but that is identical to and compatible with 1/8” BSPT. This thread is 28tpi and is a 55 degrees Whitworth thread form. Do not confuse it with NPT (which is 27tpi and has a 60 degrees thread form) or BSPP (which is 28tpi and 55 degrees but is a parallel thread form, not tapered).
