    I have a video suggestion, have you thought about putting Armada mirrors on the Xterra before? I saw someone on thenewxorg and youtube have them on their X and the benefits are:
    - auto-fold or press button to fold mirrors (useful for tight parking spaces and small garages)
    - auto-dimming (no more squinting your eyes or moving your mirror away to stop the ridiculously bright HID's from the car/truck behind from blinding you)
    - turn signal LEDs (useful to help better alert someone in your blindspot that you need to change lanes)
    - welcome light LEDs that illuminates the area near the passenger doors when you unlock the vehicle

    As always, clear helpful instruction for us X-terra do-it-yourselfers - thank you, Ry! As you've said/warned, take extra caution not to turn your steering once that linkage bolt is removed - learned the hard way when changing my UCA's earlier this year and broke my clock spring (broken clock spring = no steering wheel controls including cruise control and horn).

      Oh yea, I didn't even think about the clock spring. It would over extend it and snap it. That's a great point.

    Helpful video, but you can bypass removing the steering linkage by levering it out of the way with a pry bar. Remove the other side of the UCA first and then you can pry the linkage out of the way and wiggle the UCA and bolt until it comes loose.

    I, with the help of Jisco Truck & Off Road, installed the RCKilla lift on my ‘24 Frontier and ran into the same issue replacing the stock UCA’s with Alldogs UCA’s. We also disconnected the steering arm to remove the aft UCA bolt due to removal clearance.
    I did not see this video, but called Alldogs for some guidance and they were incredible! Walked us thru it and everything work!

    14:47 you need to use a 19mm pass-through shallow socket ratchet (DURALAST from Autozone) to clear the brake lines. Worked great for me! Thanks @Ry the car guy!

      Mike it all depends on what your bike plans are and how many miles you have on your vehicle. If you plan on going over 2.5” then arms are necessary. Also, if you have high miles and the bushings are worn then you have to decide if you want to replace with OE style or an aftermarket one like our ADO ones here.

      @@daywalker4029 Thanks for your input. Probably on go with a 2" lift but the bushings and ball joints will need to be replaced. Guess it will boil down to cost/ benefit analysis.

    THanks for the video man. My right drivers side of my xterra is squeaking all the time just driving down the road it squeaks with every bump I was thinking it sounded like a control arm bushing

    Only issue I saw about my alldogs upper arms and might be something they could fix pretty easily to put a cap or plug over the top of the ball joint. It's a pretty big little bowl for water and dirt to sit, I just filled it up with silicone out of a tube and gun .

      Here you go, these plugs fit the ADO UCA with a little trimming of lower plastic push on part. Not my idea courtesy of a fellow Frontier owner who posted it up with pics and a link.

    Wished they had a Black Friday sale going on for the titan swap kit for the Xterra. Might pull the trigger and buy it if they did. I already have the lower controls arms, tie rods, axles just needs the rest of the suspension parts.

    Thank You for another superb video. I wish you were closer to me so I can bring you my truck. Right now., I am replacing the passenger side axle seal that I noticed is seeping. Also noticed that both upper ball joints are bad as well. So parts have been ordered, the Truck is on the jack stands, and trying to get this done with all the nervousness that goes with doing it alone. While watching your video, I was wondering where is your front axle, then I realize you have an RWD Xterra. If you would near me, Bear and dinner would be on me, 🙂

    I was very happy to see this video as I have been debating doing this myself be taking my XTerra into my mechanic! One thing I didn’t quite understand is what you are securing the twine to, couldn’t quite make it out and didn’t understand what needs to be protected.

      The top of the knuckle needs to be secured in an upright position because there are two lines that go toward the wheel hub that cannot be over extended. One is the wheel speed sensor wire and the other is the brake line. The assembly is very heavy and it puts a lot of strain on those two lines if you let it go. I took the twine and tied it to the actual spring. To secure the top and the bottom was secured by the floor Jack.

    I have the same bilstein 5100s from ADO. Under compression my hat doesn't touch the UCA but was wondering if the new UCAs would make a positive difference.

    Just noticed the Michigan plates in the background are you local to Michigan or just think we have cool license plates? Looking at your X it appears it doesn't have enough Michigan rust on though :).
    Nice overall install video the guys from ADO are good group and do recommend their products.

      Haha that's true. The X only spent one winter in Michigan so any and all rust is Michigan rust. I grew up in MI and moved to FL about 12 years ago. Loved in the Ann Arbor area.

    Did you notice a difference in ride quality from having an arm with fresh joints/bushings compared to the old more worn out one?

      I'm not even joking when I tell you this. The second I turned the Xterra over to take it for a test drive the drive belt snapped off and I said screw it and left to go on my trip. So I have not driven it yet. This is the second time my belts slipped off. I think my tensioner might be dying.

    That steering shaft was a pain in the ass. Definitely got frustrated and fucked up my clockspring and steering angle sensor getting it back in.

      Just jam something into the part where the bolt goes in to widen it. Thats all I got. That and maybe lube it up with chassis grease.

    Will installing those upper control arms change the toe in and out at all i have them and want to install them butt can't afford a alignment right now i also have the cam bolts as well can i get the alignment close without wearing my tires I'm putting them on my 2018 nissan frontier pro4x

    Well i got those upper control arms on my frontier they look good but at full droop they still contact the coil bucket right at the ball joint housing

      Don't take this the wrong way, but did you install them backwards? I'm not sure how it's possible that you're getting coil bucket contact.

      @@Rythecarguy it bearly contacts the very edge of the coil bucket i think my coil buckets might be just a little bigger it contacts on the ball joint housing butt also mine droop down more because my sway bar is removed

      The ball joint doesn't have threads. I used the zero to tap it. I guess I didn't really say that in the video.

    With this ADO lift, it comes set at 2 inches but with the bilstein adjustable shocks, are you able to lift it a little more?

      Definitely steering towards this lift kit, and include the .5 spacer as well. Do you think this will be a problem with CBC?

      No and yes. No you should not use the shock on anything but the lowest setting. The spring does all the lifting.
      Yes, I think lifting more using a spacer will start to give you CBC. Just using this kit got me close enough that I ended up swapping the UCAs.

      I have 05' Frontier, RC 2.5 inch complete struts up front (No spacers). Will these UCA's get rid of CBC?

    Would this still be an upgrade on a stock height frontier? I've been getting cluck/thuds on stops and go's.

      Oh absolutely. You would still need to get an alignment but They are absolutely stronger and look better. And they come with new bushings and ball joints.

    You mention that you have the 5100’s on the lowest setting. Is that the same settings you had during the install video? I rewatched it and I don’t think you ever say what setting you choose. Have you tried the highest setting? Are you planning on changing it now with the new UCA’s?

      He has the ADO springs on the 5100s. The springs do the lifting, so you can go over the lowest setting or else you run the strong possibility of breaking the shock. If you’re running the factory coil, you can put the spring perch wherever you want on the 5100

    Just ordered the ADO Xterra lift kit..but didn't order the UCA. Go to get a tire balanced and its actually my UCA that is the problem. 😕

    I think the steering wasn't going back in the bracket because it's been overtorqued in the past.

    I couldn't take that bolt on the right-hand side. I was afraid that I will rip the boot. Now I will try again tomorrow to see what happens. that is not a very good design.

      You can also disconnect the linkage if you want to be safe. Just be sure to put it back to spec, if it comes apart you wont have steering!

      @@Rythecarguy Thank You, Sir. I got it done. I did it exactly the way you did it and the bolt came out with a little bit of struggle. So the job is done on the driver's side. I accidentally damaged the passenger side ABS cable while pulling the CV axle out to replace the front differential oil seal which was leaking, so other than that the truck is good to go. Thank You so very much. Your videos are very detailed and explain much better for a layman like me. Much appreciated.

    How do I replace the passenger visor,tried to remove the hard plastic cover with a trim tool but I stop it looked like it wound break,thanks for any help😎😎.

    I could not get the steering shaft disconnected for the life of me... I ended up cutting the bolt out with a sawzall.

      Very true! It was a simple job on my Xterra that spent ONE winter in Michigan and the rest of its life in Florida. Not true for a lot of northern suvs.

    Length of shock determines CBC. Changing preload does not cause CBC. A stock length shock set a 0 in or 2.5 in of lift, like the 5100, will never cause CBC because the eyelet to eyelet length of the shock stays the same. Adding a big spacer on top or going to extended travel length with the coilover will cause CBC on the stock UCAs. Y'all need to get your terminology right and not speak when you don't know what in the hell you're talking about

      Nowhere in my video do I say that preload changes the height of the vehicle. Would you like to send me a timecode of the video where I say that? Sounds like you need to actually watch the entire video before you start running your mouth.
